I really appreciate reading your insights and introspection into kink. I've always been interested in the psychology of "abnormal" sexuality so being able to compare and contrast my own thoughts, feelings, and experiences against your writing makes me think.
Some kinks can definitely 'develop' later in life but for me and so many others in this community, it seems more like a "factory installed" feature. Either that or something happened before my memories started forming but for as long as I can remember, these interests and desires have been a part of my life.
What are your thoughts on "factory installed" vs something that develops between birth and when you can actually remember? What kind of experiences could possibly create a diaper fetish of all things?

hi there!! iβve been sitting on this for a while because i wanted to answer it thoughtfully. also, i am not a psychologist, so take all of this with a grain of salt π these are just one kinksterβs thoughts.
i find it fascinating that abdl is factory installed for so many of us. before we even learned about sexuality, many of us (myself included) grew up wanting to be in diapers, and then feeling intense shame and confusion about why. we felt some primal urge/gravitation back towards diapers, long before we could even logically understand it.
i think diapers are an interesting site for kink because theyβre both a physically and emotionally loaded (pardon the pun lmao) object. physically, they feel nice. theyβre soft and fluffy, and when theyβre wrapped around your erogenous zone, they just feel good. especially if theyβre wet or messy
but then thereβs also so much emotional weight there as well. for a lot of us, diapers represent safety and escape. theyβre a way to turn off our brains and access this raw, vulnerable, βlittleβ part of ourselves. they represent a part of our lives where we were cared for and safe, no questions asked. and i think itβs a very human experience to yearn for something that make life feel safe and comfortable and simple.
diapers also provide a really intimate opportunity for partners to care for each other. because truly, what is more intimate and vulnerable than changing someoneβs diaper? itβs SO vulnerable even when itβs done for non-kink reasons. but then, when you do it for kink reasons, youβre CHOOSING to care for someone in this totally raw vulnerable way.
and i think thatβs a pretty incredible display of love and care for someone.
