Al Mefer (Spanish, based Alicante, Spain) - Seaside Death, 2021, Photography
A Hellenic source (be it a website or a person) claiming there’s a “Bible-like” singular theogonic text for Hellenic polytheism is a red flag. At the very least they should be enumerating multiple authors and multiple theogonies. At the very most they should remind you that Hellenic polytheism is not based on any particular text and claiming otherwise would be ahistorical as it would establish supremacy of one cult over the other.

The most important Zeus video on Tik Tok
(LINK)
Transcript
A: I'm a Hellenic Pagan.
B: Oh, cool! I'm a Hellenic Polytheist.
A: Wow, so like, who are your deities?
B: Did I not just say I'm a Hellenic Poly...all of them.
A: Uh, even Zeus?
B: Actually, I'm personally invested in building reciprocity with Zeus, and I would say we have a pretty good relationship.
A: But for why? You know what he did in myth, right?
B: Yes, I'm very aware of his mythic representation, but I also feel like anyone who has an interest in worshipping ancient Greek gods shouldn't actively revile him.
A: I don't appreciate you telling me how I should practice.
B: I'm not. You can do whatever you want, but the fact of the matter is, if you take a religion and remove its most important characters, you're divorcing that religion from its cultural context.
A: (silence)
B: And that suppression is largely done to personally claim a religion while separating it from the culture, history, and practices of an entire civilization, which is colonization.
Reblogging this for the awesome CC by @nikkitana
Sometimes the gods will seem like they aren't there, but they are.
Sometimes you will feel like a small child learning how to ride a bike. You can feel the hands on your shoulders, you can hear their voice close by. Then, suddenly, you don't feel their hands and their voice is farther away.
They didn't abandon you in your time of need. They're watching you take everything they've taught you to apply it. They've got the band-aids if you need them, and they're standing at the top of the driveway watching.
They cannot pedal that bike for you. They cannot hold onto the bike so you never fall.
They're watching you and they are proud. They are proud even if you fall down or crash.
Don't panic. Now's your time to show them what you've learned! Go as far as you can. You're not alone.
Sometimes I like to sit and experience the wild as it is. It is there where I am close to the gods. The gods are in the things which surround us and part of the process of the environment we live. It doesn't matter how urban or rural it is. It is there in which we can experience them and their presence. As the wind blows, the birds fly, the waters ripple, the earth smells. Just take it in.
Located in Rome, Italy the Pantheon is one of the most famous temples built in Rome, known for a coffered, domed ceiling with an oculus. Its name is derived from Πάνθειον in Greek meaning “temple of all the gods”.
Mythology series ⤀ Demeter, goddess of the harvest Women and the Earth tolerate a lot.

And he saw his father’s dear wife, august ox-eyed Amphitrite, in the lovely house; she put a purple cloak about him and set on his thick hair the faultless garland which once at her marriage guileful Aphrodite had given her, dark with roses.
