Geek By Night

SEVERANCE is the first short film I ever directed. It was an insane five days of night shoots with a dedicated cast and crew that couldn’t have been more invested in making a great film.

And then life got in the way and I didn’t finish it until now.

I’ve learned a lot on the two short films that I directed (and finished) since Severance, and have certainly become a better director, but I think there’s something special about your directorial debut as you jump into the deep end and try to make sense of the madness while attempting to find your style and voice as a filmmaker.

So for that reason, Severance holds a very special place in my heart.

Geek By Night @geekbynight the show I created, write and executive produce is officially an award winning podcast! I couldn’t be more thrilled!

I’m very lucky to work with someone as talented as Chris. He has the incredible ability to say the dumb words we write for him in a way so good that HE WINS AWARDS. Amazing.

Thanks to Chris for his hard work and dedication to his craft. Jeff Gibson isn’t an easy character to like all the time, but Chris was never afraid to take him where he needed to go and say some truly heinous things when necessary. I always felt that he elevated our show to another level, and now here’s proof.

The @geekbynight team has produced more than FIVE AND HALF HOURS of content over the course of eight episodes. Immensely proud of that. And we’re only halfway finished! Can’t wait to look back at our total when season one ends in September.

After a series of mysterious encounters, two strangers find themselves pitted against a conspiracy to control the fate of the world.

In 2014, I wrote and directed a short film called “THE CUPID DIVISION” and as a result, I was lucky enough to meet my best friends for life when they all agreed to star in it.

When beings from another world begin to abduct everyone around them, a college slacker and her two classmates join forces to find out why they were left behind.

Earlier this week we found out that Unexceptional had been accepted into the Los Angeles CineFest film festival.

Today, voting begins for the Audience Award portion of the festival, which means WE NEED YOUR HELP.

I went to Scott and shared my concern that if this script wasn’t handled right we could end up driving away a large chunk of our audience. And then the episode ended up in my hands. There were times that putting these lines together was mentally exhausting but I think it’s turned out for the best. I hope I did it justice and

I hope our listeners will find the material tough. It’s no Joss Whedon using misogyny as short hand for being evil. This episode and the next deal with a serious attitude problem in the comic book world and on the Internet at large–plus the true meaning of freedom of speech, which isn’t freedom from consequences.
