gearbox had 7 fucking years to drill it into their skulls that supplanting actual jokes with internet memes is a horrible idea. they had 84 months to realize that internet jokes have a half life of about .1% of the time it takes to develop a full game. they had 2555 days and mountains of feedback from literally everyone that littering the dialog, mission text, and other stuff with internet funnies was stupid and they shouldn’t do it again. they had 7 whole ass years to figure out that using memes in place of jokes only causes them to become painfully unfunny over time, until eventually they’re just not funny nor unfunny, they’re just There. and yet
