The Tau, the Tyranids, and the Votann are all properly sci-fi and need love. Like, in a world where people are casting Power Word Mincemeat and being seduced by giant infected boogers, the Tau, Votann, and Tyranids would all be staring at the madness of the galaxy and going back to filing their paperwork, digging through the floor with a pencil, or eating their aforementioned paperwork.
Seriously, it would be epic to have a story that starts with like, Votann and Tau Earth caste engineers have a dispute over a planetoid that comes from both sides thinking that it’s theirs. They don’t want to do anything with it, but they want it.
As the story progresses, it would get more and more farcical as the Tau try to dig up records that they own the planetoid, (they don’t have any records, so they make them up,) and the Votann ask their Ancestor Cores (who can’t remember Jack Fiddle so they have to convince the Ancestor Cores to lie).
Then they sneakily send down explorers to the planetoid only to find out there’s a bucket and a half of Tyranids chilling on it, so they try to start convincing the other side that it’s THEIR problem.
(As you can probably tell, I’m a wee bit tired of everything being Edgy and Dark in Warhammer so I had an amusing idea concerning my beloved Tau and the unfortunately forgotten Votann.)
