“That is a great idea…” North spoke, watching the screen with her. “Except there is one problem. You can’t cook worth shit.” He grinned, clearly teasing her, his eyes trained on the show. “God, that looks so good….”

‘ you know damn well that ain’t true. my sandwich artist skills are killer... -- although maybe that’s the three years of working at subway speaking. ’ the girl hummed in agreement with his last statement before beginning a new train of thought. ‘ maybe i’ll make some bomb app and sell it. then i could hire one of these clowns to be my personal chef, ’ she finished, gesturing towards the screen with her spoon.

“Go ahead. You can drop out if you’d like. It’s your choice anyway,” they replied, eyes looking over at the television. “Just remember that there’s a chance you could always be eliminated.”

‘ me? ’ the brunette’s eyebrows shot up as she struggled to swallow the food in her mouth before replying. ‘ i’m as cutthroat as they get. -- i don’t even care about the prize money! i’d spend every dime if it meant making my competitor use a microwave to cook steak frites... -- although i’m a fuckin’ wiz with a microwave. ’

“Girl, do you even have any cooking skills? That show seems like you need to have some experience before even getting on it.”

‘ well, i ain’t got a culinary degree, if that’s what you’re asking. -- but i make a mean grilled cheese. -- i’m talkin’ next level here. ’

soft chuckles passed her lips as the girl turned her head to focus on the other. “college is a bit rough at first, but you know, it’s so worth it in the end. imagine how great you will feel when you graduate.     do you even cook?“

‘ it’s just so much work with so little payoff, man. ’ dragging a hand across her face, george yawned. ‘ -- hell yeah, i cook! not like... anything you’d see chef fancy pants culinary school over here make, but yeah dude. ’ to be fair, most of her dishes weren’t anything any sober person would willingly ingest. but most days, the girl thought herself a culinary genius.

Amethyst rolled her eyes at the other and continued to feast from the bowl sitting in her lap. She had helped herself to a bowl of cereal moments before. “You won’t drop out. We both know this.” She stated before taking the last bite of the cereal. Amethyst sat the bowl on the coffee table, knowing she wouldn’t clean it up later, either. “If I can do it, you can do it.”
