Love is Love

Got my tongue pierced today. Feels really weird and eating is practically impossible. Guess im going on a 4 week diet lol, jk. Thanks baby for the wonderful surprise (at Paramount Tattoo Studio)

WE MUST STICK TOGETHER, SUPPORT EACH OTHER. "I recently bought a new dress. It's not my normal style but I really liked it so I was trying to find the perfect day to wear it. Yesterday I woke up feeling pretty good and decided it was a great day to wear it for the first time, after all, Election Day is a big deal so why not dress up? What I didn't realize when putting on that dress and heading in to work was that I was somehow giving permission to several people to openly mock me and even harass me in my workplace, a space in which I feel I'm entitled to safety and security. One family in particular took it way too far as they blatantly took pictures of me while laughing and pointing. I felt horrible. I felt like I was less than a person. I questioned if it was my fault for wearing that dress. In my workplace I'm not protected against this type of harassment. I cannot ask them to stop or to leave the store. My options are to ignore them and walk away or risk losing my job. I'm not going to pretend that's the first time things of this nature have happened to me. I've seen it many times over the years and I've learned to deal with it one way or another, but let me make this perfectly clear to you. THIS IS TRUMPS AMERICA. Donald Trump has given people permission to be their worst selves without having to fear public ridicule. The harassment I face doesn't even begin to describe the effect this will have on so many others who will be fighting to stay alive. To my friends and family who voted for Trump, I expected more of you. I'm ashamed. You have put your religion and ideals over the rights and safety of millions of people. To my fellow queers and lgbt+ people, people of color, womxn, undocumented immigrants, disabled people, or any other marginalized groups, I love you all. Now more than ever, we must come together. We must support each other through this terrifying time. We are strong, powerful, beautiful humans. We've proven ourselves time and time again and this is no different. Stand up and fight for our lives. To our allies, stand up and fight beside us. Hell, if you're truly an ally stand in front of us. Use your privilege to save our lives. We cannot survive without your help. Stop harassment when you see it happening. Shut down racist/homophobic/transphobic/ableist language as soon as you hear it and every time you hear it. Demand respect for us. And please, let the people you care about know they are loved. You will not know how hard this fight will be on us, but sometimes knowing we're loved and deserving of that love may be the only thing that keeps us going. If you know people who are out of touch with what marginalized people are facing feel free to share this post (and many others) so they can see first hand what we face in our day to day life. Last week I wore a dress every day to work. This week I'll do the same. I will be radically femme. My queer body will take up space and command respect. I will fight with all I've got for what I think is right and I will look cute as fuck doing it."
