I drew Frisk like that half intentionally, basically I wanted them to look cute but slightly off, the kind of appearance that doesn't look too sus but still makes you uncomfortable It fits their personality in the comic well. They're a nice kid, but there's an uncomfortable edge to it, they say and do things that seems weird. Also it makes their first appearance with Aster finding them sus more impactful too.

The muppet thing wasn't totally intentional, but I don't mind it at all xDD

AND HE TOOK THE DOG WITH HIM!!!!! D:<

Of course, Flowey saw it all. Smth interesting and cute is that "I was focused on Papyrus'", like, he had a chance to go after the skeleton he and Frisk are interested in, but he rather focus on Papyrus. That's so sweet stop 😭

Can I just say that I haven't trusted Frisk for a long time now? The things they say, all the things they do are just SO weird! What they say here is so... idk how to even describe it. "Don't let him get killed before we befriend him" it's such a weird way to say things.

Like, it sounds to me like Frisk is starting to become a little bit like how Flowey was before. Curious about what happens, trying to decode every secret, but starting to care less for people. Maybe I'm wrong tho-

LOVE THE "FLOWERY" AND "PAPAYA" NICKNAMES. IT'S JUST SO THEM. THANK YOU. Flowey's frustrated face was SO WELL MADE TOO I loved it!!

This deserves so much attention. The way Papyrus let's himself be, starting in the lowercase, addressing Flowey by the real name... He lets himself be vulnerable 🥺

I like this so much. I adore that Papyrus has people that he can vent with and without the fear of saying the wrong thing. He can do this with Sans, of course, but.. I feel like it's pretty different.

AND I LOVE HOW PAPYRUS SAID FRUSTRATING. And that being what makes Flowey take this seriously (I think)?? That's good. THAT'S AWESOME.

And Papyrus hurts me so much. Overwhelmingly present but not there. Oh my god you couldn't have phrased that better. THAT'S JUST SUCH A BEAUTIFUL LINE???? Because yes, that's how Aster has been. And Papyrus still trying to get close to him, to make him puzzles, to do smth ELSE so they can bond...

I feel like smth similar happened before Aster shattered.

I feel like their relationship was pretty damn similar.

YES EXACTLY! Flowey had the total opportunity to follow Aster and continue Frisk's plan, but he preferred to focus on Papyrus. Not to talk to him, not to twist the knife or anything, just to check and make sure he's okay. Plant boy will never admit he cares, but he does so much aaaa

Yeah that little freak kid is just so fun to write for that simple reason. Frisk's a good kid, they don't mean harm, far from that, but sometimes they say things that make you go "…wait a minute???" But that's the nature of an anomaly right? They'll never be satisfied

I really really like this panel too hehe I redrew his pose a few times before getting it right actually, he was meant to have a calmer one, but I decided to exaggerate it for better effect x) He's just the coolest hehe

Oooh the emotion time, it does deserve attention yes It's so rare for Papyrus to actually be vulnerable with someone, in game he always manage to redirect his emotions toward others. This is so hard for him, and he's not sure how to "say it right" But with his best friend, with Flowey, he can try to. He trust Flowey that he can be himself for just a tiny second (though he still keeps his goofy side despite that, safer like that). I think Flowey can see how important it is to him Anyway, love those two

The way he says "frustrating" is somehow really satisfying yeah, because it is frustrating! I'M ALSO FRUSTRATED BY ASTER RN! I WANNA BITE HIM GRDUIHNDFIGHDFIHIUGD

Ooooh that sentence, that line It roamed in my mind for MONTHS before I wrote it down. I'm sooo glad you guys finally see it "Overwhelmingly present but not there" He's a controlling parent who's remarks will always circle in your brain, but you'll never get close to him Papyrus just can't get through to him no matter how much he tries, and it's not his fault, he can't do anything about it. I love how well it represents just Gaster as a whole quite well too, nowhere and everywhere at once, that's all this contradiction that makes him so mysterious hehe

And you're right on that! I can't show you how it was before (except with flashbacks but I already forbid myself to do any in the comic itself), but I can show you how it was through the actions they have today. Everything's circles back

Love how you can tell Flowey is genuinely surprised here. Like he hasnt seen Papyrus have an outburst often. Or seen him frustrated. Also loved the Papaya thing, their little nicknames for eachother give me life.

I feel like Flowey would start to think, becuase honestly he rarely sees Papyrus upset, and this makes him upset, which would get him thinking about who Aster is, if Frisk really wants to befriend him, or if Aster is even worth saving or befriending at all. After all, this is Papyrus were talking about. The easiest person to get along with and be nice to, and Aster wasnt good to him.

Flowey having an opinion on how Aster makes Papyrus feel would be interesting to see.

He's totally genuinely surprised here yeah. Papyrus being frustrated or angry isn't a rare sight, but seeing him expose his emotions in such a raw way is really not common He's definitely thinking "Holy sh*t he's really NOT okay" x) And the nicknames are a reference to this from the second Papyrus Q&A, I love those dialogues so much sihndigfdogsr

Yup yup, it does raises questions for Flowey, and offers him a total new perspective! Flowey and Papyrus's dynamic is fun to see in this particular situation, when Papyrus is in such distress and decides to open up to his friend What will Flowey's answer be? What does he think about all that? About Aster? About Frisk? What will be chose to say or do? We'll see more about this real soon hehehe

The art was amazing. Papyrus was amazing (even though he always is and will be)

Aster being the person he always is (same old same old lol)

As you can see here, the art and style haven't decreased at all. IN FACT, it's gotten better

Just some thoughts :

GUYS, REJOICE, IT'S FINALLY HERE AAAAAAA

I'm so tired of those pages you have noooo idea But they're cool! I promise ton of Papyrus and Flowey in em hehe

I was watching a video about the doom mod MyHouse.wad (if you don’t know it, I highly suggest Power Pak on yt’s video on it. It’s the video I was watching when I had this realization.) and in a section of the mod, the song “Subways of your mind” was playing. I didn’t much mind at first, I was just happy to hear I song i first heard about through a comic (Gaster’s Return actually!). The guy making the video mentioned the mystery and I thought “oh that’s cool! Another mysterious song :)”.

Later, near the end of the video, the song was playing again. For longer now. And while listening I thought back to this comic. Then to the mystery. And then I realized:

a decades long mystery about who the singer of a song was.

a mystery about the identity of someone who may never be known.

Identity of someone long forgotten in actuality but still remembered through a creation of theirs.

To say I sat up in bed going OMG HOLY HECK OMG IF THIS IS TRUE IMA LOOSE IT is an understatement. And now I am typing this. And I am asking this ask right now because if I don’t I might genuinely lose it:

Did you choose Subways of your mind for any specific reason? Did it have to do with the mystery of the singer? Or am I crazy?

— a crazy person who started typing this at 11:42 AM and ended at 11:53

I thought I should give you guys a small update over here, about the comic and myself (nothing bad dw)

So, pages releases have been less and less frequent, I think that's noticeable, and I've been giving some answers here and there but a proper post about it would be good

First reason that I give every time is, I take more time making my pages than before. Last year I was doing stuffs quickly but wasn't always satisfied of the final result. I decided to take a bit more time on quality rather than quantity, making the process longer. My co-author is here to make it faster, but well, he has a life and a job too (boo to him)

Second reason is, I got more stuffs to do in general now. School got busier than last year, it will be next year too, I'm doing other small projects aside, and I've been focusing way more on the UNDEREVENT since I'm currently a trial co-director! (Like, I'm not co-director yet, but I might become if I'm nice enough :D)

All good reasons to say that, for now, the release of pages will be slooowwww BUT they'll be pretty and done with tons of love hehe

If you wanna check to process of the pages, I have a specific channel for that on my Discord server (small ad hehe)

Mmmmmh, really interesting question, difficult to answer x) The harm Aster causes around him was, and kinda still is, something that lingers in daily life rather than one big impactful event. It makes it more difficult to identify or name for a child, and even for himself, since it just becomes "normal" In the comic it's a bit more blunt, but all his actions now echoes how it was in the past For Sans, I don't think you know enough yet to tell ya in detail how Aster impacted how he is now. I think you could guess, but it will be addressed at some point (Chapter 1 scene 8 to be precise x)) For Papyrus, well, the very fact that your own parent seem so disappointed in you constantly isn't really the best feeling... Aster didn't really understand Papyrus, and was more focused on "fixing" him, or helping him "fitting in" than really listening. He wanted to help for sure, and he really tried, but it just has the opposite effect. You can double that with the fact that I'm pretty sure he shares Papyrus's neurodivergency, it really raises questions on how he treats himself too...
