It just dawned on me that in less than ten days Cancer season begins. I believe this is the toughest season for people, just like Capricorn season can cut hard. These are Cardinal Sister signs and they both test how much we have learned and if our healing tactics have worked. Cancer is the Moon, she represents the Mother that has given birth. Capricorn to me is the Crone. She has experienced the beginning and rules the end, which is why the end of the year is riddled with obstacles and the hardships strike us the hardest. But Capricorn season can be viewed as both the end and beginning, which can give us a double dose of a cold and cruel medicine.

Cancer season is in the middle of the most relaxing time of the year. The Sun is out until 8PM (in most places), the temperature gets higher, we are falling in love or entering new romances, the flowers are blooming, and everything just feels right. In this pleasant stasis is when the psyche can feel a cold and icy shower in the hottest day of the year. We can feel doubt, especially if our plans have not bloomed. We can feel hurt, especially if we are looking for love and are surrounded by those that are partnered up. We can feel hate, especially if nothing is going our way. Like the Sun that is shining out there, we have to find the rays of light within. The storm brewing in our mind with emotions needs to be subsided or we must wait for it to die out.

Cancer Season seamlessly tests us because we never see it coming. In the midst of pleasantries and beauty, there is still a dark side that must be confronted. After all, Cancer rules the chest and our hear is located there. It is a time to become easily depressed but we must learn to nurture ourselves in a mothering way to heal and grow. We must remind ourselves that each zodiac season teaches us how to become stronger, how to grow and take charge. Right now we fight the storms inside and next month we begin to appreciate ourselves and our ego. Leo season is about learning to love us, to admire us, to respect ourselves. Cancer season teaches us to calm the storm inside in order for the rays of light to shine on us next month.
