Overwatch Is Getting A Cross-Play Beta On PS4, Xbox, Switch, And PC & Blizzard Entertainment is bringing cross-platform play to Overwatch, a long-requested update that will enable multiplayer between Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One. Cross-play in #Overwatch is powered by the latest update to Battle.net, Blizzard’s online multiplayer infrastructure, the game developer said Wednesday. & Crossplay will also work for all game modes other than Competitive. In that context, Blizzard will put console players in one pool and PC players in another. The studio says it’s doing this for balance reasons. Far Cry 6 isn't a political statement on Cuba, director says & Ubisoft is trying to balance serious storytelling and engaging action in Far Cry 6 without commenting on real-world events even after speaking to actual guerrilla fighters who serve as the inspiration for the open-world shooter's fantasy. * #FarCry6 is a game about a revolution against the brutal dictator of Yara, a fictional island nation in the Caribbean very obviously inspired by Cuba. The classic cars and baroque architecture are a dead giveaway, and in case that's not convincing enough narrative director Navid Khavari told GameSpot in 2020 that not only was it the source of inspiration, but that developers actually spent about a month in the country doing research. * #FarCry 6 doesn't seem to be aiming at serious commentary: Giancarlo Esposito looks set to bring serious gravitas to the role of El Presidente, but this is also a game that will let players turn a busted boombox into some kind of shitty disco Spinfusor while a wiener dog in a wheelchair distracts people so a trained alligator can gank them from behind. Dragon Quest 3 HD Remake Announced & Square Enix announced Dragon Quest III: HD-2D Remake, a new take on one of the most popular games in the series. Few details about the game have been revealed at this time, but it will feature a graphic style similar to the one utilized in Octopath Traveler. The result is a gorgeous take on classic 2D RPGs, and one that's sure to excite longtime fans of the #DragonQuest franchise. & Dragon Quest series has never achieved the same level of popularity in the rest of the world as it has in Japan, but it does maintain a faithful following. Dragon Quest III is easily one of the most beloved entries in the series, and Dragon Quest III: HD-2D Remake should be the perfect way to introduce newcomers to the series. Destiny 2 Cross-Play Beta Coming May 25 & Destiny 2 players were treated to an odd bug that allowed them to group up with players on other platforms. While we knew that Bungie was working on cross-platform play for Destiny 2, we didn’t know exactly when it was supposed to go live. Bungie disabled the bug that was causing cross play to be enabled last week, but the studio will launch a special #Destiny2 cross play beta next week to test out the matchmaking. The intent is to fully launch cross play in Season 15, which is set to go live on August 24th, as long as there aren’t any delays or changes to the schedule. & #Bungie mistakenly launched cross play alongside the Season of the Splicer update, and subsequently had to patch in its removal. Bungie acknowledged the accident in its latest post, stating "even though this was caused by a bug, we saw players mingling between platforms, which was awesome! That said, we needed to smash that bug like a subscribe button to get our release back on track. & The Destiny 2 cross play beta will be a limited Vanguard Strikes playlist, live starting at reset May 25 through May 27. The company says that its integrated motor and controller system mean less exposure and easy maintenance. The scooter is sold abroad in two variants, the basic and premium version. This gives rise to the possibility that the company must be planning to enter India sometime back.
