                    ‘ you don’t have to thank me. and all you ever have to do is ask, ’ daniel busies his hands with the sheets and the blankets, spreading them across grace’s sofa with precision, focusing on smoothing the creases and tucking the sides into the cushions. next comes the pillowcase, and then he’s throwing the pillow down, finished with his makeshift bed. eyes move to grace then, daniel’s hands on his hips, sleeves unbuttoned and rolled up to his elbows. what they had been through was long passed, and he understood why she’d want distance from the last remaining le domas. the name itself lingered as a painful memory, but he’s glad she called. ‘ besides, i owe you plenty of favors. i’m happy to stay whenever you need, ’     @fcktherich​.

‘ who said this can’t be soft? ’ another drink is taken from his beer, a beverage that was never at his house unless daniel snuck some in. after all, his parents were all top shelf booze drinkers ; they wouldn’t even poor out a bottle of beer on their freshly replaced synthetic grass. eyes move to mason when he’s taken down half the bottle, almost mischievous, and definitely flirty, smile on wet lips. ‘ i, for one, feel very mushy inside. maybe you just need to lighten up, ’     @greenelight​.

                   ‘ trust me, you do not want to be a part of this family. cool hair, though, ’

hand lands on alex’s shoulders, squeezing gently with some sort of comfort. regardless of how daniel felt during the hunt, nothing could be changed now. all he could do was protect his brother like he has since they were small. ‘ right or wrong, it doesn’t matter. it’s over. we have to move on, ’     @domasgroom​.

                   there’s never a time limit on his alcohol consumption, and daniel knows that effects more than just him. eyes squint at his wife, the woman who fits into the le domas legacy much better than he ever has. his own bitterness mixes with the honey taste of his drink, never breaking eye contact with charity as he sips. resentment has festered between them, an uninvited third party in their relationship. where did it all go wrong? ‘ would you like me to apologizer? ’ he knows she’s right, so daniel can’t argue. he finally places his tumbler down with a small thud. ‘ fine. i'm sorry. i’m sorry that your husband is an alcoholic, ’ he pauses, staring at charity with blurring and blank eyes. ‘ is that good enough for you, dear? ’     @gamebetrayed​.

stumbling from his king sized bed, daniel stumbles down the stairs half naked, wearing only a pair of sweatpants he didn’t remember changing into. in fact, he doesn’t actually even remember how he got home or what he did last night, which was probably for the best. hilt of one hand finds an eye, trying and failing to rub away the hangover as he walked toward the kitchen. out of the corner of his half lidded gaze he sees something move. stare travels toward the couch, man halting as he watches someone shift beneath the blanket there, a familiar messy head of hair, petite form curled up under the quilt. he’s taken aback by magnolia being there. was she the one who got him home safely? embarrassing, to say the least, but not surprising. he stands and stares down at her for a long moment before finishing his journey toward the fridge. the least he could do was make her breakfast in exchange for watching over the mess he’s become.     @caestillo​.

needless to say, daniel hadn’t expected to find anyone else awake, but seeing aisling in front of a still roaring fire was a pleasant surprise. they were all shocked that their mother and father had allowed her to stay part of the family, despite having been left at the alter, never married into the name. but daniel, at least, was glad that she was still around. dragging his feet, the eldest son made his way to the chair next to aisling’s, daniel falling into the seat and sinking into the suede fabric with a deep exhale. ‘ well, i can’t really say no to that, can i? ’ eyes automatically search the room for the bar cart. he’d get up and get himself a drink soon. for now, he rolled his head over to the woman, tired eyes staring at her expectantly. ‘ why can’t you sleep? did you have a nightmare about what family dinner is going to be like tomorrow? ’     @soulstcne​.

                   ‘ i know, dear, ’ it’s nothing he hasn’t heard before. the reason charity said this was of no interest to daniel, not after knowing for sometime that they no longer liked each other. marriage couldn’t save everything. in fact, as far as he was concerned, having charity marry into a family like his made it worse. eyes move up to her and he takes a drink from the finest crystal, wild turkey warming his throat as it ran down into his stomach. ‘ feel free to tell me again in about ten minutes when i pour myself another glass, will you? ’     @phantasmtastic​.
