This depends a lot on communication with your writer and the mod team! As a podficcer I always tell my writers at that start that I am doing a podfic, and we work together from there. This may mean that the writer tells me when individual scenes are finalized and set to post, or they may try to finish their fic earlier, or if it's a multichapter fic I go chapter by chapter!

We also completely understand that podfics require waiting until a fic is written and edited, so genuinely communication is just the biggest thing, if you need to post your podfic later then just let us know!

We are so honored by how many people have already signed up for this event, and have had such a great time meeting everyone!

Currently we have 130 writers interested in participating, which is amazing! However, in order to help ensure that every writer is able to be paired with at least one artist, we are currently pausing our acceptance of further sign ups of writers. If we receive enough new artist sign ups before August 21st, we may temporarily open writer sign ups again, so keep an eye out!

If you are interested in creating art or betaing for this event, or know someone who may be, please let them know that sign ups are open now. As a reminder, we accept all types of art, in fact we currently have artists creating everything from traditional and digital illustrations to crochet, bookbinding, podfics, moodboards, playlists, gifs, custom baked goods, and more!

Hey there anon! In total the fic synopsis form asks for the following: a working title, the author(s), genre, AO3 rating, trigger warnings, pairings, word count, artist specifics, and beta specifics. There will also be a short plot summary and a 100-300 word excerpt.

Hey there anon! In their fic synopsis form writers will clarify what they are looking for from a beta, while some may be looking to hash out details or world-building, others may be looking for simple copy edits, checking plot flow, characterization, etc.

Good question! Both book and show canon are able to be used for the event. You can choose one or do a mix and match of ideas that you like.

If I submit a fic idea, the claiming means I will not work on my idea? Or just to find other members of a team?

Also, is it ok to post anon on Ao3 when the time comes?

If you sign up and fill out the synopsis form with your fic idea, then that fic is your project for the Big Bang. Claiming is all about building the team. Artists and betas will "claim" fics to beta for and create art for.

You can post anonymously, however you won't be anonymous to your team. The Big Bang is all about collaboration with your team, which means your artist(s) and beta(s) will need to be able to communicate with you. We would also want you to indicate that on your form prior to claiming so artists and betas will know they would be claiming a project where the fic is being posted anonymously.

You have it right! The writer won't need to indicate it anywhere, just make sure that whoever is going to be the beta indicates it on their sign up.

Hey there! Yes, you can absolutely participate with a cowriter! In the sign up form there is a question asking if you have a cowriter, and if so what their username is. Both authors do have to sign up for the event and join the server, but you will only need to submit one fic synopsis form.
