Narvin’s footsteps echoed around the empty corridors of the TARDIS. He could feel the ship tremble as he ran his hand along the smooth walls, as though every second that passed was a struggle. The TARDIS was barely holding itself together by a thread that could snap at any moment.

These days, he felt like a thread about to snap.

When he chased Trave across the rooftops of the Citadel back on Gallifrey, the fall shook him. He liked to think he didn't get scared easily, not after everything he has seen or done during his lifetime and the responsibilities that came with working with the CIA; but with the Time War tearing the universe apart and new horrors being unleashed every day not just by the Daleks, but by his own people as well, if Narvin didn’t admit that he was scared, that would only make him a fool.
