Crocidura trichura, the "Christmas Island shrew," was a shrew that lived on Christmas Island, australia. It was last photographed in 1987 and officially declared extinct in 2025

​The wavy and serrated edges of its leaves (though not very visible in the sketch, the leaves are serrated) might have been an adaptation to protect itself from Hawaii's now extinct giant herbivorous birds, such as the Moa-nalo. Also, the curved shape of its white flowers evolved to perfectly fit the curved beaks of birds like the (ʻIʻiwi)

In this reconstruction, Anhinga fraileyi is depicted as more robust than the modern Anhinga anhinga, with a proportionally larger and stronger bill. The skull is interpreted with the eyes positioned closer together and more frontally oriented, resulting in partial binocular vision. This eye placement, somewhat comparable to that of owls, may have provided improved depth perception and prey detection in the turbid waters of the Pebas system.

Phractocephalus nassi is interpreted as a distant relative of modern catfishes (Siluriformes), but significantly more robust in overall build. The head is reconstructed with a broad, flat, and heavily ornamented frontal region, consistent with the known cranial morphology of the species.

The pectoral fins, equipped with strong spines, likely functioned as an effective defense against large predators, while the caudal fin would have provided powerful bursts of acceleration rather than sustained high-speed swimming. Overall, Phractocephalus nassi is interpreted as a dominant fish within its ecological niche, inhabiting deep channels, lagoons, and the margins of slow-moving rivers.
