How did he get roped into this … ? Felix supposes he should count his blessings that he wasn’t forced to eat the same thing as her (sweet buns? for a meal?), but still. Considering how he’s usually the type to pick something nourishing and convenient to wolf down before evacuating the dining hall like it’s on fire, the thought of him sitting down and … eating with someone is unusual, to say the least. Felix stares across the table at her, trying to discern her intentions before finally relenting.
“I hope you’re going to eat more than that,” he finally speaks, gesturing at the three different flavour of sweet buns on her plate. “Carbohydrates are important, but they won’t help you for long.” A pause as he shovels teppanyaki in his mouth, chews it, almost appearing to consider the flavour for a moment before he swallows and jabs the chopsticks in her direction again. “If you truly want to get stronger, you should be more mindful of your diet.”
there isn’t much that makes annette happier than a sweet, dripping-with-glaze bun still warm from the oven, & it shows. maybe it’s a bit childish of her, legs kicking happily beneath the table, her frame swaying gently in her seat as she hums away, but she doesn’t really mind too much. there are a lot of things annette takes seriously, sometimes to a fault, but these rare moments offer a sort of respite from the overachieving nature she finds so deeply innate. when she sits down to enjoy something sweet, she makes sure to really savour it because she knows that in a mere 5 more minutes, it’s back to busy, stressful day of pushing herself.
“ i don’t only eat sweets, you know. i mean, that sounds nice & all, but i always try my best to keep a healthy diet. ”
& that’s true! fruits, vegetables, proteins; they’re all pretty much a regular for annette but... felix’s words spark a curiosity in her. she wipes a couple crumbs from the corner of her mouth & tilts her head in query.
“ is there anything you recommend i add to my diet though ? you know, to get stronger & stuff. ”
