After a huge round of research and conspiracy theorizing with two very lovely people [thank u @crystallineglacian and @thekingsshield ] I have decided to ever so slightly and sort of majorly change this blogâs canon.Â
Dino is a messenger like Gentiana/Shiva.Â
His âtrue nameâ is that of a more minor being: Alexander. A close friend of Titanâs, Alexander doesnât take one solid form. Heâs a being that thrives on change and ingenuity and staying in one form goes against that. He passes from vessel to vessel, living as a human over and over again. He rarely interacts with nobility, preferring to stay to the sidelines and hone his craft. Heâs aspected of Light and Holy, and is seen as a protector of mankind as a whole.Â
This explains the many unusual things about him. For example:Â
He is able to enchant jewelry intentionally, and is aware of said fact, despite no one else in the game able toÂ
He appears in random places throughout different stories, especially where he shouldnât (think Chocobo Moogle Carnival)
Vague and transient, he has access to more information faster than anyone else should be able toÂ
Alexander is traditionally associated with the attack âDivine Judgementâ similar to how the meteor landed in XV, and he does work for Meteor Publishing
His true form is that of a large humanoid, but he appears almost as if he is a heavily armored chess piece. When he transitions, large bursts and waves of steam cover him and the surrounding area in an explosion. Gears and clocks cover his body, and his eyes themselves have gears instead of proper irises. Very rarely does he appear in this form and few have seen it. He can stop an enemyâs time to keep the peace. His primary âweaponâ is a shield as he is against fighting.
Like Gentiana, he can use his powers in his human form, but he is more subtle about using it since he has a large tell. His eyes turn into that of his true form - with gears instead of irises. He canât do as much as he can in his true form, but he can manipulate the time on small objects and people. He also still has the ability to fold in and out of time and space like all the other messengers without notice.Â
Alexander is extremely against Noctis sacrificing himself, and while in his human form, will do anything he can to make sure Noctis can avoid his fate.Â
