✨ TROLL BLOG CALLOUT POST ✨

i usually try and keep negativity off this blog because it’s not here for that, but these two blogs are causing a lot of issues in the community.

i’d like to clear up the fact that both @ratherbeinspacewithotherstars and @gorekin are troll blogs. they make up stories about things that “have happened” and both blogs say they identify as “gendervoid” which makes not only the otherkin community look bad, but causes the trans community to look stupid as well. as someone who identifies as agender, i’ve had enough of them both saying that gendervoid is valid. i’m sorry, but if either of them are trying to say that they’re neither male or female, the term is agender. it is not okay to create a fake gender when there’s already a word for it. it causes actual valid agender people to look really really fake- and the LGBT community gets enough hate as it is. we already had to battle the issue of people using nounself pronouns and now this… it’s completely unfair.

i urge the valid otherkin out there to block these blogs so that our community can be cleared of trolls. it’s really irritating to see their posts on the tags, and our community shouldn’t have to put up with it.

it sucks that i’ve had to say this at all, but i hope i’ve cleared up any confusion of whether these blogs are real or not.

Probably a majority of ‘kin blogs’ on Tumblr are troll blogs.  The good news is that it seems to be less over time, Maybe the trolls are moving on to more cringe-worthy subjects.

In any case, here’s some warning signs that a kin blog might be a troll:

Do they use designer pronouns (ones way off the ones in common use) or use pronouns that relate to their kin type and not gender?  Probably a troll blog.

If you haven’t heard of the sexual orientation they are using, probably a troll blog.  I’m not talking about even the common ones, but the ones that are 

A page full of kin types?  Particularly if more than half of them are fictional characters?  Probably a troll blog.  

If any of them are ‘fact-kin’ (kin with real/historical people)?  Probably a troll blog, the more inflammatory, the more likely.

I don’t understand what a glitch-kin is, but I see it in association with alot of troll blogs.  I’m not going to disparage the term until its better explained to me.. but just saying.

Note the blogs mentioned in the OPs post.  Troll blogs often violate multiple, if not all, of the above principles.  

The only difference is that troll blogs will wait a lot longer to block people usually because the reactions they get are their goal, not something that genuinely distresses them. They’ll play it up too, same as the occasional genuine asshole who gets pissed off about someone replying to their posts and does nothing about it, only to make a huge stink about it continuing to happen instead of blocking that person.
