Just as Mae was about to strike, George threw herself onto her back, under the weapon, blasting a beam at Mae. It didn’t burn, but the force was strong enough to push Mae up by her stomach, into the air.

She leaps forward, a louder snap from her earlier hurt ankle sounded.

Despite the crack, she holds a blade to George’s neck.

"This is.. The right place right?" he looks at Luke who squawks halfheartedly.

He leaves the kitchen, immediately noticing Arthur attacking Enrique’s leg. He quickly picks up the boy. “Arthur!”

But a the second he takes a sip he doesn't pause and basically downs the entire cup.

Enrique looks at Jonny, then to Arthur, then back to Jonny, then to his leg. "I am sorry, I did not even notice. I thought he had left. I apologize. " he bows his head to Jonny. Then sees the tea. "Oh! What kind?"

Mae notices the soft patterned footsteps behind her, someone was trying to sneak up on her. Rather than play it out and see where it goes. She turns around, just to make sure she doesn't accidentally hurt anyone.

It was Chelsi. She looks very disappointed she was caught. Mae tilts her head at this.

Mae was tempted to correct the fact that it would. Be impossible for there to be no. Murderers at Christmas. Christmas is not a holiday everyone celebrates. And murders would happen whether it was Christmas or not.

But she refrains from this.

George crawled through the portal she made, bleeding, broken, and with no idea of where she is. But there was a door! She could only hope that the people who lived there had some bandages or something…

Either way, it was an extreme relief to hear and he hoped his sisters would stay safe for a while longer.

Drake wasn’t a fan of his birthdays. He had never celebrated it. Growing up, his parents just thought it was a waste of time and money. So even after he had moved out and was his own person, he still never celebrated.

Upon learning this, Louie was shocked and immediately ran off. Drake didn’t see him again until the morning of the 17th.

The dining room was now completely decorated. A cake was sitting in the center of the table (despite none of them actually being able to taste anymore) with the number “265” on it. There was a pitcher full of fresh blood, a large birthday banner hanging on the wall, and streamers adorning the chair meant for him.

Louie, who was waiting in the room with Frank, explained that he had so much planned for today, and that this would be the best birthday ever.

After a moment the door unlocks and opens, Charles is standing there with a smug grin. "Yes sir?"

James scowls at him. "If you weren't basically my father figure for most of my life I would fire you. "

The halls are so identical to the last one that it’s hard to tell if he’s been there or not. He’d leave a trail but he’d rather not lose anything of his.

“No they couldn’t,” Jonny informs, “at most they would get a slap on the wrist. At most. If we decided to turn them in or report them.”

Spending all your time alone with this dragon as your companion for 3 years, you get good at being able to tell what he's saying.

When they find eve again Jack physically lets out a breath. When she talks about execution he stiffens again and doesn't relax until Eve tells them they're allowed to go.
