āYou will always be in emotional discomfort if you donāt revisit your past and resolve any misunderstandings or broken relationships. Itās not worth carrying around that kind of heaviness in your heart. Life goes on, but it moves a little faster when you have closure.ā

I wanna know what people assume about me because of my tumblr.
Put an assumption in my ask. Iāll confirm or dispute it. Iām not gonna be mean or anything, Iām just very interested. You can go anon if you want.

If thereās one college assignment I had to do which I could force on all college students, itād be this paper I had to write for a Research Methods class. It was later in the semester, and the professor gave us a very straightforward assignment: you need to find a news article which reports on the results of an academic study, read the actual study, and then explain in detail why the article did not properly represent the studyās findings.
Not only was having to do that a really useful exercise in terms of figuring out how misinformation gets passed around, but talking with a class of 25 other students who all had to do the same thing for 25 different articles makes you realize that the majority of allĀ āstudies showā¦ā news articles misrepresent the studies theyāre based on

The Palestine Reader
The following is a collection of articles, essays, and books on Palestine. These are not introduction texts to the question of Palestine or the Palestinain-Israeli āconflictā. If you need one read The Palestine-Israel Conflict by Gregory Harms and Todd Fery. Further, this is not an āunbiasedā or āneutralā readng list. Everything listed below is counter-hegemonic. I feel absolutely no need to provide anything from the Zionist or Israeli point-of-view when that is the dominant narrative. With that said, I believe this provides a diverse, but in no means comprehensive, overview of the discourse on Palestine. A continuously updated page of this list can be found here.

For the last time :)
It is not a neutral āconflictā. Palestinians donāt have:
an army
police officers littered around the streets fighting off attacking settlers
$3.8B funding from the US
bomb shelters
homes (hello theyāre being evicted and bombed?)
immediate access to medical care (settlers are blocking ambulances and throwing grenades)
citizen acknowledgement from the government that supposedly wants to help them
means of defending themselves
the right to properly mourn (a funeral was recently attacked by settlers)
justice
Anyone who chooses to claim neutrality is choosing to claim the side of genocide. Neutral = complicit. The number of Palestinian deaths remains staggering and I promise, the occupying stateās numbers are nothing compared to it. Thousands more deaths and fatalities have occurred to the Palestinian people. When the death toll defers by roughly 9,000, I think itās safe to say that the situation isnāt neutral.*
I repeat, if you are neutral, you side with genocide.

As a bonus:
first of all, who let me get so emotionally invested in a book!? like it's a fucking stack of paper!!
