the daughter of two very well known retired guardians, kwang jinah and kwang sungho

gahyeon was expected to follow in their footsteps, especially with her powers — phoenix physiology could be perfect ability for a guardian to have

she began private training with her parents at a very young age, they were adamant on having her reach tier a like jinah or tier b like sungho, and she showed great promise

she was a good kid and did everything her parents told her to do as they put other tiger parents to shame with how controlling they were 

her parents would encourage her to follow the news at a young age, thinking this would give her more passions about being a guardian but this did the opposite as she saw how the humans were living compared to the mutagens back home

her passions began to shift as she wanted to help her people rather than humans, she just had to find a way to stand up against her parents

she didn’t tell them until it was one day before she had to apply for the guardians 

they weren’t happy when she told them but they didn’t push back as much as she thought they would, almost as if they too felt compassion about how district x was being treated by the korean government. though this didn’t stop their one off comments

instead she applied for the district x fire department 

the pay isn’t the best but she feels fulfilled and happy, like she’s actually making a difference for the people she cares about

due to this she still lives with her parents at the villas and even if she never hears the end of her parent’s subtle comments about a career change (so she could at least have a better wage), she endures it in order to have a nice home and a stable flow of money

she tries to justify her compliance by using her parent’s money for work supplies, since the fire department doesn’t have much funding

there are only a couple people at the fire department who know who her parents are as she tries to keep that knowledge to herself

she loves to go out, finding freedom in the nightlife. often goes home with others, especially if that means she doesn’t have to go back home to her parents nagging at her

she’s always thinking of getting a second job so she can move out, but being a firefighter means you’re almost always on call so she can’t. however, the thought of finding a rich partner has been crossing her mind lately
