//Hey guys! Sorry for the silence. Things are still kinda crazy and school’s now in full swing so I haven’t had a lot of time I haven’t turned on my computer in four days.

//I’ve been having a particularly rough time with some of my muses as of late due a couple different factors. It’s none of your guys’ faults! Just things ebbing with the flow of time and different people taking their own much needed breaks.

//The following blogs are going on Semi-Active for now until my muses decide to cooperate. I may still reply to threads if the mood strikes, but I am not going to accept new threads at this time.

“Y-You look great, Quenny.” Yeah…great wasn’t the word she was looking for. Drop dead gorgeous is what she was looking for. Ally hardly saw Quentin in her glasses and with the outfit she was wearing….damn and she knew that Nel liked leather…it’s the entire reason why she got the leather skirt for Quentin in the first place! This was like a double whammy for her!

She may or may not be wondering if Quentin was gonna pull a ruler on her before she cleared her throat, “Ah…I think you said the reservation was at five? We should get going…” 

Wait was Ally blushing? When was the last time Quentin saw Ally blush? “Thank you, ladies~” She gave a little twirl for them before stooping so she could put on the heels. She was going to be as tall as her ladyfriends this evening. She was determined.

“Nel, you called in the reservation, right?” She straightened back up, making sure she had her balance in the slight heels. She took a few steps and kissed Ally on the cheek and grinned if only because they were the same height tonight. “Happy birthday, honey.”

Nel, having a mere inch over her two lady friends, watched the cute little display with a private grin on her face. “Yep, 5 o’clock sharp. We better get moving before they give our table away.”

She cast her gaze to Ally, smiling at how red she was getting. She hadn’t any idea what they had in store for her, did she? Well, that suited Nel just fine. After all, it was a birthday surprise for one of her favorite ladies.

Yes, this was the perfect outfit for going out to dinner for Ally’s birthday. Quentin smiled as she put on the pencil skirt that Ally had gotten her - it was only fitting that the first time she wore it be for Ally’s birthday, right? She didn’t really get why it was leather of all materials, but that was beside the point. Nice underwear was put on - bought specially for this occasion. And then the skirt and nice blouse (blue, to go with her eyes) were put on. And her glasses because they were going to be reading menus…perfect.

…she looked like a fucking librarian. 

Whatever. Quentin could rock that.

She pulled her hair back and grabbed her heels. “Okay, sorry, I’m ready now!”

The plan was to go out to dinner and then have all sorts of fun. Bedroom fun.

Wait, they were both staring.

“Is this too much? Or is it too librarian? I can go change if need be…”

“N-no, it’s not too much.” It was, kind of. Less so in the style of outfit, which was plainly conservative in nature, but more in...well...there’s leather. Quentin was in a leather skirt, and she looked fantastic in it.

Nel was secretly grateful that her choice of a attire involved tape for the evening. If what Quentin was planning actually went down -- which it would, knowing Ally -- there was going to be ample teasing before they even got through with dinner.

Hazel eyes dart between one post after another, gloved hand raises to her chin, cupping it as she analyzes the five. Nothing but small jobs, it seems all the big ones were taken by other adventurers. More and more parties were forming in this town, now that the red head ponders about it. It seems newbies and novices were beginning to wisen up. A bit of bad news for Myris, however but at the same time it’s good fortune.

Being without a party currently, taking on a larger task didn’t seem like a smart move. She’s a tanker, not a damage dealer. Her movements are slow, the only thing to make up for that is the fact that she plays the role of the powerhouse. “Hmm…” Myris began to take down the remaining small quests, “Might as well earn some pocket money for the day. It’ll at least cover up a few meals.”

As the Cleric folds up the sheets of paper together and tucked them away into her armor, her shoulder accidentally bumps into another. Eyes immediately look to the other, as she holds up a hand, “My bad, I didn’t even realize you were standing beside me.”

Admittedly, Nel hadn’t been paying attention either. She had been engrossed in the marks placed she had pulled down, trying to weigh the correlation between distance, difficulty, and bounty. She didn’t have anyone to go with her today -- her usual partner had been pulled away for one reason or another -- and that left her with an empty satchel and stomach to boot.

Her attention was drawn to the woman next to her, and she quickly threw a smile in place to cover the look of disdain.

“Oh, no worries. Not like I was paying attention either.”

Several minutes and muffled shouts of pain later Ally walked out of the room with the target still tied up, groaning in pain and curled up in a heap. She however looked rather disgruntled.

Hearing that their first lead had fallen flat did little to lighten Nel’s mood. She shook her head, uncurling her arms from her chest as she looked to her partner. “So I take it we’re not getting paid tonight either. Figures.” What else was going to go wrong that night?

Green eyes trailed to Ally, briefly considering if said grunt was worth allowing to live, before she reminded herself that she wasn’t on a hit, but rather on an intel gathering mission. Old habits died hard, or so they say. Still she had to marvel at how close she had come to taking the guy out herself just for trying to hurt Ally.

“Don’t be apologizing while you’re trying to kill me! You’re not–” She grabbed the woman’s wrist before she could try to look for the knife again before using the motion of her sitting up to butt heads with the other. Hard, “Making any sense!!!” 

Nel gave a pained grunt as she was forced off the woman, holding her forehead and scrambling to her feet. This was by far the most trouble she had thus far during a hit. She was already regretting taking the job, but she wasn’t going to have time to bitch and moan about it if she didn’t finish said job.

“Don’t take it personally, princess. It’s just work.” She seethed, stepping back into the screen of smoke in the hall, but not before getting a pretty good view of her target in the buff. This one was... beautiful. Curvy, sunkissed skin, full hips, long legs...

I swear to god McLain, if you get a hardon now--

Shaking off those thoughts, Nel reached for her pistol once she was hidden from view. If she could disorient the woman long enough, she could disable her somehow and then take her out. Simple, right?

“I know you’ve got my back.” Her hand lingered in Nel’s for a few moments before she pulled away. She stooped down to pull out two pairs of sneakers, holding up the options to Nel.

One was pretty standard - white and black - the other pair was pretty vibrant. Pink laces even. That almost seemed like overkill. Why did she actually have that pair of shoes? Were those a gag gift from someone? Probably…

“God…I haven’t been able to eat all day, I’m gonna need that dinner.” She shook her head as she put on the more subdued pair. Quentin didn’t usually go in this deep for her informant work, but really…she had two of the best looking out for her.

A reassuring smile was offered, and Nel went about checking her equipment as she traversed the short expanse to the door. “I’ll drop you off a couple blocks away from where that greazy bastard likes to hang out, so you’ll have to walk.”

Again thing she’d rather not do; leaving Quentin dressed like that out in the open with the express purpose of attracting someone gross. But part of working in this business was trusting your partner, and that meant trusting Quentin not to do something to get hurt.

“Mac soith!” She seethed, letting go of Ally’s wrist so she could seek out the knife again. Best to get this over with and get out while she still could.

She risked taking a glance behind her and immediately regretted it, whipping around to brace herself as she grabbed the red head’s wrist before it attempted to make impact. Whoever this bitch was she was strong. She couldn’t hold back the blade far enough since it cut right at her cheek.

She missed entirely and if she were in the right mind she would have blamed the smokescreen, but instead of grabbing the woman’s flailing arm, Nel’s hand settled onto a soft, yet firm breast.

A bare breast.

“Great…not only is it a suitor but it’s politics. Couldn’t it at least be one of the guys that can keep a conversation?” She immediately sunk into the water to wash her hair. It was tempting to drown herself at the idea that she was gonna have to spend her entire afternoon with his man. This was so aggravating.

“You used that excuse three weeks ago when Sir Spada came to pay you a visit.” Nel countered with a shake of her head. She stepped away from her post at the entry to grab a towel and a hairbrush. Something told her she’d need to give Ally some girl time if she was going to make it through the afternoon without attempting to fake her death.

She felt the color drain from her face as she saw how quickly the book was shot through. The hell did she do to get an S rank sniper up her ass anyway?! With there being another pause she scrambled further and further from the window in fear of being in plain sight.

Ally caught sight of something flying into the room. Her eyes zoned into it as it bounced on the floor– A grenade?! No…a smoke screen…

Was this crazy ass going in her home!?

Nel landed as delicately as she could on the wooden floor, keeping completely still as she tried to detect where her target had ended up. With her scarf pulled over her mouth she wasn’t bothered by the smoke, but she knew her target likely was.

There was a soft noise, barely audible, to her left. Making a run for it... Couldn’t have that, not after she had witnessed the attempt. Nel rushed after her, grabbing a knife from her boot as she entered the room. The smoke hadn’t filled this one entirely, so she could just barely make out the silhouette of a woman not far from the entry.

“And that’s bad how?” She chuckled lightly, as she approached the private bath that was already being prepared by the handmaids. She silently motioned them away before stepping in, yelping a little at the temperature of the water. She supposed at one point it was hot, but much to her dismay it was luke warm. Well, saves her from basking in it. 

She sank in the water briefly before rising up, the suds that were in the bath were already clinging to her skin.

Nel stood at the entry of the bath, though kept her gaze politely averted as her charge soaked. It was strange to most why she did this when the handmaidens didn’t bother. Nel was supposed to be the princess’s closest confidante, right?

“Sir Flynn is coming by today, at behest of the duke.” It wasn’t the first time the poor sod had been sent their way either. It would seem whenever anyone from that kingdom needed to do conduct some sort of diplomacy with their kingdom they’d rarely show up themselves, and instead send one of their favored knights. It just so happened that this knight was favored enough to earn him a possible arranged marriage.

With there only being one shot, she knew she was dealing with an assassin, she could smell the after burn of the bullet hitting where she was sitting, had she not ducked in time…

The brunette shook her head as she wiggled her body across the floor frantically. There was too long of a pause, they had to have been reloading. She didn’t know what kind of bullet it was, but from how it sounded when it hit the window…it was meant to get the job done no matter what the distance.

Damn it... If she bolts, I’ll have to chase her down. And that bathrobe would attract too much attention.

Nel scowled, cursing in her native tongue. Shouldering the rifle for the time being, she reached for a canister at her belt. If she couldn’t get a clear shot, then she needed to take care of her in a more personal manner. The tab was pulled with teeth, and the canister chucked inside the broken window. As soon as it clinked against the floor it began to billow smoke. Not enough to choke, but enough to obscure her entrance.

With the white fog rapidly filling the room, Nel quickly took stock of her surroundings, before grasping the hookshot from her belt and flinging it towards the drainpipe above the window. There was no hesitance, just a leap of faith that sent her through the broken glass and into the hazy room.
