Word Origin: September got its name from the Latin word āseptemā meaning āsevenā. This is because September is the seventh month of the old Roman calendar, and the first month of fall. Even with the addition of new months to the calendar, the name was never changed. Historical names for the month of September include the Irish name āMeĆ”n Fómhairā or āan t-Sultainnā (āfat timeā), the Anglo-Saxon name āHaligmonathā (āholy monthā), the Frankish name āWitumanothā (āwood monthā), and the Asatru name āSheddingā.
Mythology: Pomona the Roman Goddess of fruit, fruit trees, and abundance is the Goddess most associated with this month. Pomonaās name comes from the root word āpomumā, which means āfruitā, and she was said to be a wood nymph. She is a Goddess that is associated with the harvest, and is therefore associated with the month of September, a harvest month. Her symbols include the apple and the cornucopia. Unlike other deities associated with months, she is a purely Roman deity, and does not have a Greek counterpart. One myth about Pomona portrays her as a virginal wood nymph. One day, she is visited by an old woman. Pomona asks her for advice about marriage, and the old woman tells her that Vertumnus would be a very good match for her. Pomona pursues and marries Vertumnus only to realize that the old woman was actually Vertumnus is disguise! They are said to be a very active couple, and their love creates the many apple trees. She isnāt the most prolific Goddess, and there isnāt much mythology on her. She is however a ubiquitous character in classical art. In the Harry Potter series, the herbology professor is named Pomona Sprout.
Traditions and Folklore: the most important date in September for pagans and wiccans is Mabon, otherwise known as the Autumn Equinox. Like Ostara, this is the day where light and dark are equal. Unlike Ostara, this time the days will get shorter and shorter until the winter solstice at Yule when the God dies and is reborn again. Mabon is known as the pagan thanksgiving, and is a time to give thanks and celebrate the harvest. This is also the time of year when many thanksgiving traditions are celebrated, and it is believed that this was the month when the original American Thanksgiving took place. The date was changed to November by President Abraham Lincoln. Another holiday many think of during the month of September is Labor Day, which is a day that celebrates labor unions. Michaelmas is celebrated on September 29th, and a Celtic tradition that marks the end of the harvesting season. The Jewish holiday Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown on September 29th, and is one of their religionās most holy days. Some folklore sayings that go with the month of September are: āHeavy September rains bring droughtā, āSeptember dries up ditches or breaks down bridgesā, āSeptember blow soft, till the fruitās in the loftā, āMarried in Septemberās golden glow, smooth and serene your life will goā, āIf the storms of September clear off warm, the storms of the following winter will be warmā, āFair on September 1st, fair for the monthā.

Word Origin: like July, the original name for the month of August was āSextilisā, which translated to āsixthā. Originally, this month was 29 days, but changed to thirty with the Julius Calendar reform. When Augustus Caesar became the holy Roman Emperor, he took one day from February, and renamed the month āAugustusā in his honor. Instead of renaming September, he renamed August because it directly followed the month of July, which was named after Julius Caesar. Historical names for August include the Irish name āLĆŗnasaā, which is a version of Lughnasadh, named after the God Lugh. The Japanese name āhatsukiā, the Finnish name āelokuuā (āmonth of reapingā), the Anglo-Saxon name āWeodmonathā (āvegetation monthā), the Frankish name āAranmanothā (ācorn ears monthā), and the Asatru name āHarvestā.
Mythology: the month of August is sacred to the Goddess Hecate, the Greek Goddess of witchcraft, magic, the night, the moon, ghosts, and necromancy. She received her powers over heaven, earth, and sea from her parents the Titan Perses and the nymph Asteria. Hecate is associated with both good and evil, and was feared as well as worshipped by the ancient Greek people. Hecate witnessed the abduction of Persephone by Hades. Because of this knowledge, she went to Persephoneās mother Demeter, and helped search for her with a torch in hand. This myth lead to the creation of pillars called Hecataea, which stood at crossroads and doorways to keep away evil spirits.
Traditions and Folklore: I have given a brief summary of the Goddess Hecate above, and now I will talk about the August rituals that are connected with her. Hecate is a Goddess that is also associated with the harvest, the first of which occurs in the month of August. In pagan thought, it is Hecate who has the power to bestow a bountiful first harvest, or destroy it. August 13th is named āHecateās Nightā or āNight of Hecate as Goddess of Witchesā. This night honors Hecate through ritual and worship. Speaking of the harvest, the major pagan and wiccan sabbat that occurs in the month of August is called Lammas or Lughnasadh, after the Celtic God Lugh. This is the first of the three harvest festivals, the other two being Mabon and Samhain. This was a time of thanksgiving a celebration in the old times, where everyone in the community got together to celebrate the harvest by feasting. There is a superstition surrounding Lammas, where farmers would let the first corn bread go stale and crumble it in the corners of the barn to make sure the harvest lasts through the winter and ensure a bountiful harvest.

Word Origin: the Romans originally named the month of July āQuintillisā, but later named it āJuliusā after Julius Caesar, which is where we get the name āJulyā. Historical names for July include the Irish name āIĆŗilā or āan t-Iucharā (āthe border timeā), the Anglo-Saxon name āAeftera Lithaā (āafter Lithaā) sometimes āMaedmonathā (āmeadow monthā), the Frankish name āHewimanothā (āhay monthā), and the Asatru name āHaymoonā.
Mythology: The original name for July, Quintillis, translated to āfifthā, and was the fifth month in the calendar set in place by Romulus. This calendar only had ten months and began with āMartiusā, which was the original name for the month of March. There was a calendar reform after the original naming of the month, and Quintillis kept its name but became the seventh month in a twelve-month year. Then Julius Caesar instituted a new calendar called the Julian Calendar where past astrological mistakes were corrected. This reform lead to a period called the āYear of Confusionā, which was so named because of the confusion the calendar switch caused with the Roman people. After Julius Caesarās death, the name Quintillis was changed to Julius in his honor, and the Julian Calendar remained the main calendar of the west for 1600 years. The month of July is sacred to Apet, Athena, Sothis, Spider Woman, and Rosea. Athena was the Greek Goddess of wisdom and war, and is corresponded with July because her birthday and the great festival in her honor called Panathenaea are celebrated in July. This festival occurred once every four years, likely in direct opposition to the Olympic Games. The festival included the presentation of a new robe to Athena, a large procession, and many animal sacrifices. Musical and poetic contests were also held where there were recitations of long, epic poems.
Traditions and Folklore: There isnāt a Sabbat that occurs in the month of July, but there are a few important secular holidays. July 1st is Canada Day, and is a Canadian holiday that celebrates the creation of the Dominion of Canada in 1867. This was the union of three Canadian colonies. July 4th is the United States Independence Day. This celebrates the Declaration of Independence, which was signed and adopted in 1776. July 14th is Bastille Day and commemorates the start of the French Revolution with the storming of the Bastille. This is the month of the year when haying is at its height, and where crop circles begin to appear throughout the countryside. This is why the July full moon is often called the Hay Moon. This is also a time to destroy weeds before they go to seed, and when the bugs are at their worst. Sayings and folklore that are traditional for the month of July include āNeāer trust a July skyā, āIf ant hills are high in July, the coming winter will be hardā, āAs July, so next Januaryā, āNo tempest, good July, Lest the corn look ruelyā, and āWhatever July and August do not boil, September can not fryā.

Alright alright alright my witches!! Todays post is a basic way to make throwing bones for a rune set!! Fair warning this does take a couple days so ya gotta have patience.
Okay first thing ya wanna do is get yo self some bones (I used chicken bones) , a spoon to scoop them out and a pot of water!!
Then next yer gonna set that shit on high and wait for it to boil. And once it starts boiling your gonna put all of your bones that you collected into the pot and let them boil for an hour or so. This helps loosen the remaining meat as well as get rid of lingering bacteria.
Next after there done boiling your going to take them out and your going to gently scrape the rest of the remaining meat of the bones. It usually helps to get the majority of the meat off beforehand though.
Once you've removed the rest of the meat your going to soak them in a bowl with warm water and Dawn soap. The Dawn soap acts as a degreasing agent so that it removes the rest of the grease. And your going to soak them over night.
After you've soaked them over night your going to rinse off the bones and pat them dry and then you going to get a huge ass bottle of 3% hydrogen peroxide. Pour just enough to cover the bones. Your going to soak the bones for several hours to achieve the shade of white you want them to look like.
After your done soaking the bones your going to rinse them off and let them dry for about 2 days. Once they're completely dry you can design them using whatever you'd like ( I used sharpie) and you can seal them using a Matte or Gloss varnish.
Word Origin: the term āMayā is coined from the Greek Goddess Maia (āmotherā), the most important of the seven Pleiades and the mother of Hermes. Her Roman equivalent is Maius, the Goddess of summer. Historical names for May include The Anglo-Saxon name āThrimilcmonathā (āthrice-milk monthā), the Frankish name āWinnemanothā (ājoy monthā), the Astrau name āMerrymoonā, the Irish name āBealtaineā, and the Japanese name āSatsukiā.
Mythology: Maia was the eldest of the seven Pleiades, the daughters of the Titan Atlas and the Oceanid Pleione. Maia is the Goddess of springtime, increase, and warmth. The seven sisters are named Maia, Electra, Taygete, Celaeno, Alcyone, Sterope, and Merope. They are a group of seven stars, and legend says that after years of being pursued by Orion, Zeus turned them into stars to keep them safe. Orion was also turned into a constellation, and continues to pursue the seven sisters across the night sky. Maia, the eldest of the seven sisters, was known to be a shy Goddess, and mothered the Greek God of messengers Hermes, who she had by Zeus. Not much is known about how Maia was worshipped, but she was important enough to have a month named after her. What we do know if that she was one of the Goddesses whose worship was restricted to women, and she was one of the Goddesses known as āBona Deaā or Good Goddess. It is even speculated that Maia was the original Goddess known as Bona Dea. Bona Deaās name is so sacred that it was forbidden to be spoken aloud. Unfortunately, there is no written record of the rites of Maia, and what we know of her is based in the myths of other Goddesses and Gods. In the ancient Roman pantheon, Maius was the Goddess of growth, and her name literally translates to āgrowthā. This corresponds to the growth of flowers in May, which is one of Maiusā symbols. The Roman Goddess was originally separate from her Greek counterpoint, but has become synonymous with Maia.
Traditions and Folklore: the most important date for pagans is may 1st known as Beltane, and in recent years has turned into the holiday May Day. This day is the official end of winter and a festival of welcoming spring. In many traditions, there is dancing around a May Pole and much music and games. In some parts of Britain, May 1st is also known as Garland Day, when school children gather greenery to make garlands. These garlands are displayed in hopes of receiving a few coins. There is another tradition on May 1st where young girls run outside in the morning to wash their faces with the fresh dew because it is said to have magick properties that remove pimples. May 1st also has a tradition known as āMay Basket Dayā, where people gather flowers and chocolates in Baskets and hang them on the doors of their friends and neighbors. May 29th is known as Oak Apple Day, where villagers wore oak leaves pinned to their clothes in remembrance of King Charles IIās return to London.

Word Origin: the term āJuneā comes from the Roman Goddess Juno, and was originally named āJunoniusā. Junoās Greek counterpart is the Goddess Hera. Historical names for the month of June include the Irish name āMeitheamhā or āan t-Ogmiosā (āyoung monthā), the Anglo-Saxon name āAerra Lithaā (ābefore Lithaā), the Frankish name āBrachmanothā (ābreak monthā), and the Asatru name āFallowā.
Mythology: June is the first month of Summer. Juno or Vesta is the Roman Goddess of women, money and wealth, childbirth, pregnancy, and marriages. She is Jupiterās wife and queen of the Gods. She is also part of the Capitoline Triad, which is made up of Juno, Minerva, and Jupiter. June is a month that is not only sacred to Juno, but also to all deities that rule over love, passion, and beauty. Juno was all that embodies motherhood and the role of the wife. She was known by other names including āLucinoā, which means āmeaning lightā. This is because she helped bring children into the light when they are born. As a marriage Goddess, she was often called upon to settle disagreements between spouses. Her role as a maiden Goddess and a marriage Goddess make June a traditional month for marriage. As a money and wealth Goddess, she protected the finances of the Roman people. With Jupiter, Juno gives birth to the Roman deities Mars, Hebe, and Vulcan. It is ironic that Juno is the Goddess of marriage and her husband is Jupiter, because Juno is plagued throughout mythology by Jupiterās numerous affairs. Juno however, stays very loyal to her husband. One of the myths about Juno surrounds her husbandās infidelity. Io was one of Jupiterās numerous lovers, and Juno was very jealous of her beauty. She tasked a man named Argus Penoptes to watch over Io and make sure she didnāt see her husband Jupiter. Argus Penoptes had a hundred eyes all over his body, and when he slept he always kept a few open to watch Io. However, Jupiter duped Juno by sending Mercury to put all of Argus Penoptesā eyes to sleep and kill him. In honor of her servant, Juno created the peacock, and put Argus Penoptesā eyes on the birdās tail. Therefore, the peacock is sacred to Juno and the month of June.
Traditions and Folklore: the most important date for pagans and wiccans in June is the Summer Solstice, otherwise known as Litha. This takes place on the actual summer solstice every year, so the date varies. The Solstice marks the longest day of the year, when the Sun is at its strongest. This is one of the fire festivals, and is a celebration of light before the days begin to get shorter again and the God begins to die only to be reborn again at Yule. Some superstitions that surround the summer solstice include a rose picked on the solstice eve will be fresh until Yule, or if the rose petals are scattered one will find their true love the next day. Other traditions include raising large bonfires and watching the sun rise on the morning of the solstice.

Magic is not done by someone or happening somewhere with someone. Magic is about tuning into a particular frequency. For that you have to let go of being serious with the world inside your head. Most of world is inside the head not in actual physical reality.
Similar Celebrations: Imbolc started as a celebration of the first milk from pregnant ewes in Ireland, Scotland, and other parts of Europe. This came from the notion that early peoples had to take care of their animals during the winter. In this way, our ancestors had different and much more reverent relationships with their animals. Sheep naturally breed in the autumn, and give birth around the time of Imbolc. This means that their milk is available now, and was a good marker of the coming of spring. Celts saw this time as a time for spring cleaning and honoring the Goddess Brigid, for whom this Sabbat is sacred. Later, Christians changed Brigid to a Christian Saint to better help pagans transition to Christianity, and kept many of her characteristics the same. The Roman festival āFebrualiaā was celebrated at this time as a great festival of purification. Februalia was soon replaced by the Christian Feast of the Purification of the Virgin Mary. Another Roman tradition was āLupercaliaā, which was a purification as well as a sex festival. Ancient Egypt worshiped the Goddess Renenutet at this time, who was the Goddess of childbirth, much like Brigid. In Asia, we see the celebration of the Chinese New Year, which is a time of great mysticism where divination and the occult are very prevelant.
Purpose: In ancient times, winter was a very hard time of the year. There was no modern technology to help the family keep warm, and food supply wasnāt readily available. Because of this, Imbolc and the spring season was a very important time of the year because it meant the end of the hard winter months when life would become easier again. Naturally, fire was a big part of their celebrations because it was the bringer of warmth and life. With all this in mind, Imbolc is a time for new beginnings. It is a time to reflect on our own faults and a time to shed whatever is holding us back. We look back on old plans and change or replace them to suit our new needs. When we emerge from the cocoon of winter, we come out greatly changed.
Goddess and God: The Goddess transforms from Crone to Maiden, in the form of a young mother she tends to her growing child. The God is in the form of a child exploring the world.
Key Words: Activate/Awaken, Animals, Banishing, Beginnings, Change, Cleansing, Divination, Emergence from Sleep/Hibernation, Fertility, Healing, Hope, Illumination, Innocence, Inspiration, Light, Newness/Renewal, Patience, Pregnancy/Childbirth, Preparation, Prophecy, Prosperity, Purification, Sprouting Seeds, Transitions, Thrift, Transformation, Well-Being, Youth. These key words reflect the awakening of the people and the earth after the long, cold winter. New lives are brought into the world, the earth becomes abundant once more, and the days are getting longer.
Decorations: Corn Dollies are probably the best symbol for this Sabbat. At Lughnasadh, corn dollies are also made. The difference between the two is that the corn dollies at Lughnasadh represent the crone aspect of the Goddess, and the dollies at Imbolc represent her maiden aspect. Some traditions make the dollies at Lughnasadh and store them until Imbolc when they are brought out to represent the Goddessā transformation. Brigidās Cross is also a common decoration at this time because of her association with this Sabbat. Candles and candle making are also a common activity for this Sabbat due to the connection to Candlemas.

Word Origin: the term āFebruaryā could have come from a few different places. One being the God Februus, who was later connected to the Roman God Pluto. Another possible source is the Roman Goddess Februa, who was the mother of the Roman God Mars. Februa was the Roman Goddess of passion. She might also have been one of the aspects of the Goddess Juno, where she is known as Juno Februtis. Historical names for the month of February include the Irish name āFeabhraā or āGearranā (āThe Geldingā or āThe Horseā), the Anglo-Saxon name āSolmonathā (āSun Monthā), and the Asatru name āHorningā.
Mythology: Februus was the Roman God of purification, and his name literally means āthe purifierā. He was also worshiped by the Etruscans, and was also the God of money and wealth, which is why he is often associated with the Roman God Pluto. Februusā holy month was the month of February, which is where the monthās name originates. This was a time of the spring purification festival (spring cleaning if you will), which took place on the 15th. Februa or Juno Februtis was one of the aspects of the Goddess Juno, and ruled over fertility and purification much like Februus. She is connected with the Roman purification festivals in the month of February as well. February was considered to be the end of the old year in Roman tradition, so the purification festivals were meant to cleanse them from the old year and look forward to the new year.
Traditions and Folklore: There are many traditions held in the month of February. One of the more familiar ones is the American holiday Valentineās Day, a day to celebrate romance. There are many fun tales associated with St. Valentineās day. The first man an unmarried woman saw on Valentineās Day was supposed to be her husband. If a girl wrote the names of all her suitors on pieces of paper and put them in water, the first name to rise to the surface as supposed to be her husband. If an unmarried woman saw a robin on Valentineās Day it was said she was supposed to marry a sailor, if it was a sparrow she would be happily married to a poor man, and if it was a goldfinch she would marry a rich man. The 2nd of February is the Christian holiday Candlemas. This festival marks the middle of winter, which is halfway between the winter and spring solstices. Many people think that Christmas lasts 40 days up until Candlemas. There is a very cute story about the flower snowdrop as associated with the month of February. Legend has it that Adam and Eve were visited by an angel in the month of February after being cast from the Garden of Eden. It was snowy outside, and they had just about lost all hope. The Angel visited to tell them not to give up, and transformed the snowflakes into snowdrops, making them a symbol of hope. Shrove Tuesday marks the halfway to Easter. There is also the extra day at the end of February that happens every 4 years called the Leap Day.

Word Origin: the term āJanuaryā is coined after the Roman God Janus. Historical names for the month of January include the original Roman name āIanuariusā, the Saxon name āWulf-Monathā (āWolf Monthā), Charlamagneās name āWintarmanothā (āWinter/Cold Monthā), the ancient Japanese name āMutsukiā, and the Finnish name āTammikuuā (āMonth of the Oakā).
Mythology: The month of January was named after the Roman God Janus. Janus was a two-faced God of doorways, beginnings and endings, and transitions. This is why January was the first month of the year! He is depicted as a two-faced God because one face is looking to the past, and one face is looking to the future, and occasionally he is depicted as having four faces. It is said that the Roman God Saturn came to the city ruled by Janus on a ship after being shut out of Olympus by Jupiter. When he was received warmly by the king, Saturn bestowed upon Janus the ability to see into the future and into the past. Unlike many Roman Gods and Goddesses, Janus does not have a Greek equivalent, though his worship dates back to before the Roman Empire was formed. One myth says that Janus was a king who brought mankind from barbarity to civility. These two sides of the coin are another reason Janus has two faces. The Romans highly coveted Janus because he was the God of doorways, and through him, all the other deities could be reached. Before any rite,Janus was given gifts and libations. There were also many arches built in Rome in honor of Janus, as they were symbolic of him and thought to bring luck and prosperity. There are some who believe that January is named after Juno instead of Janus. Juno is also a Roman two-faced Goddess, who looks backwards and forwards. This is why January is a good month to look back on the year and learn from mistakes, and look forward to what is to come in the new year.
Traditions and Folklore: As Americans, we associate the month of January with New Yearās, and is the first month of the year in the Gregorian Calendar. This celebration is counted down the night before with festivities and fireworks. In Scotland they celebrate the festival of Hogmanay on this day. In ancient times, there was a tradition called āThe Door Customā or āFirst Footingā, and was supposed to bring luck into the New Year. At midnight on January 1st, people would wait inside their doors for a person bearing coal, bread, money, and greenery (all symbols of good luck). The visitor would then take a bit of ash from the fireplace to signify the departure of the old year. January 1st was also a very superstitious day in Medieval times regarding prosperity for the new year. A flat cake was placed on the heads of horned cows in every farm. The farmers would then sing and dance next to the cow until the cake was thrown off onto the ground. If the cake fell behind the cow it signified bad luck and if it fell in front of the cow it signified good luck. January 2nd in Saxon belief was the unluckiest day of the year, and any person born on that day would die a horrible death. On January 20th there is a tradition called āSt. Agnesā Eveā where all the unmarried girls would perform rituals to find husbands.

The Evil Eye: What is it? How Can I protect Myself? Personal Life Update & Experience With The Evil Eye.
Iād like to start off this blog post with an apology, I completely forgot about yesterdayās blog post. This was because I had a family emergency in which Iāll explain further down the post. Feel free to skip the personal life update as it can be put simply: family dog crossed the rainbow bridge unexpectedly last weekend and Iām grieving.
Have you ever met someone that doesnāt like you? Perhaps they envy you or wish you nothing but the worst for you. Or maybe youāve done this yourself wishing that one shitty co-worker would step on legos bare foot or get their soaks drenched and possibly wished that their pillow is always warm. The Evil Eye, Nazar, or in Latinx/Hispanic cultures may call it Mal De Ojos and in Italy they refer to it as Malocchico. With the uprise of spirituality, the evil eye has been noticed and mentioned more and more. So before we dive right into this grab your favorite drink and snack, your fur baby, and get cozy cause weāre gonna talk about The Evil Eye.
What is The Evil Eye?
The Evil Eye is a hex, curse, jinx or simply bad energy/harmful wishes, thoughts and desires that is casted upon the u aware victim by giving the victim a āevilā glare. This glare is spiteful. Envious. Enraged. Hateful. Mean. You name it there is ill will intertwined with it. However, nowadays you will see beads, bracelets, necklaces, amulets, mini tress, rings, car accessories and more with the blue amulet that looks like this š§æ. You can find this amulet in different colors, styles, and in different shops like Etsy, Amazon, Earth Bound Trading Co. (I think). And any spiritual and metaphysical shop. Some people have even tattooed this symbol onto their bodies with reports of it later fading away as time went on. The goal of this amulet is to protect you and shield you from the negative energy being sent your way. It is also known to have a return to sender effect and send that nasty energy back to the source.
This amulet is said to have its origins traced back to the country of Turkey and a couple middle eastern countries. In some cultures itās an incantation while in others itās a physical symbol.
How Do I Protect Myself?
So The Evil Eye can be either intentionally or be mistakenly done without the casterās knowledge. In order to protect yourself, you should understand what the colors mean that way you can protect yourself accordingly to your specific situation.
Dark Blue: protects your fate/karma, communication and how to circumnavigate chaos
Light Blue: Basic protection, opening your mind up, peace
Black: I hear black can also transmute the negative energy and turn it into positive energy for the wearer (if this is true share you stories), power and prosperity
Brown: Earthly connections
Orange: creativity and happiness (could possibly help with your inner child work)
Dark Green: life balance and happiness
Light Green: Success, health and power
Violet: protects your love life, boosts intuition and communication
Red: protects you from anxiety and fear, boosts energy, confidence
Pink: (I hear it can protect your love life too and if itās true please share your stories), helps keep you calm, save friendships, happiness
Purple: takes obstacles away, life balance
Yellow: protects health, protects you from burning out
Grey:soothes intense energies, protects against sorrow, makes one feel secure
White: Purifies, removal of obstacles
Now that you know what color you need, you can wear it, or keep one on your keys, keep one in the car or hand some up in your home. Be sure to cleanse it though because you do not know the person who handled it before and what kind of energy they got. You can draw it too on a canvas but as always be sure to cleanse your tools before doing any sort of witchy project! Also if it breaks or explodes, get a new one ASAP. DO NOT FIX IT. if it breaks it has served its purpose.
Personal Life Update
ā ļøTRIGGER WARNING ā ļø TW: MENTION OF ANIMAL DEATH, ANIMAL SURGERY, ANIMAL BASED INFECTION, GREIF
So, one of my family dogs died last week Saturday. I was at work when I got the call from my step mom telling me the dog is extremely sick with a uterine infection and that she is going to need surgery. The surgery was high risk, but it was a risk my family was willing to take to try and save her. The doctor took labs and x-rays and saw that her reproductive organs havenāt ruptured and the surgery would need to happen that night. My family opted to put her through surgery to try and save her. How ever by the time the doctor got in, it was far too late. Not only was it ruptured, she had gone septic. Her whole body was infected. Her survival rate went from a 50% to 0%, her quality of life would be extremely poor.
I refuse to go into the gore parts of it because itās just too graphic to share with all of you and itās haunting to still think about. This grief based scar is still fresh in my mind. I was extremely devastated by the details and once I got home from work she had been euthanized humanely. Now this infection happens suddenly, especially in intact female dogs who are not spayed and havenāt had puppies. Some breeds are more likely to get this infection than other breeds. Now, the dog did not show signs of discomfort, pain or suffering prior to the emergency vet visit, not until the very end as she stopped eating and walking suddenly. This infection happens quickly, so quickly in fact that the best way to avoid this is to spay your dog as soon as theyāre eligible. I cannot begin to describe how sudden this all was. This past week feels so unreal, after work that night I screamed in my car before I drove home. I cried all night, I couldnāt eat, my boyfriend ended up driving me to Jack in The Box to get us comfort food that way I can eat. I cried talking to him over the phone keeping him updated about it too while he was working. I called off of work that same night. The dog that passed was never fixed due to the vet costs.
I want you guys to take this story to heart, not in a mean vengeful way, but as a PSA and cautionary tale. For the love of the gods, please, fix your dogs. Cats. whatever animal you have whether itās a boy or girl. Neuter and spay them if you have no intention to breed them. Please look into local resources that can help get your dogs fixed at a reasonable cost, ask for that extra $50. Skip that Pumpkin Spice Latte from Starbucks. You donāt need that new eyeshadow palette from Ulta. My family is very responsible with the animals, I want to emphasize that, because even the most responsible pet owners still can experience unexpected tragedies. Even if theyāre prepared for the worst. ļæ¼
Personal Experience With The Evil Eye
So, now my experience is low key silly, but to make a long story short, before I got with my partner, I met this other guy who, I didnāt realize at the time was a complete pile of shit. I put workings on us to have him dump his GF and to get with me.(see where this is going?) Well, hail Loki those workings didnāt get too far as I met my boyfriend and got with him. Other time, I reversed some of the workings expect for the break up and domination ones (I was more focused of getting this pile of shit who I refer to as Dollar Tree Danny Zuko out of my energy.) I also need to mention that it is confirmed he treats his GF like crap too, hence why I didnāt reverse some of the workings. When I reversed the binding work, the next day I got a reading detailing what may happen as the working progresses. Not even half an hour later, my evil eye bracelet, exploded. I was putting on a shirt, it didnāt snag on a string or anything. I put on one of my Steven Rhodes shirts and it exploded all over my bedroom. Luckily I had a couple more evil eye jewelry as back ups in case of the event it would happen again.
I also like to mention that Loki does NOT like Dollar Tree Danny Zuko. Here is how they describe him:

Epilogue
There you have it, a long boi post to try and make up for Fridayās forgotten post. I do apologize for the personal life update. But Grieving the loss of a pet is one of the most difficult things to experience. My familyās other dog is grieving as well, my sister pampered her today with a bath and quality time as they both mourn (theyāre soul mates ISTG). For more information on The Evil Eye, there is a book on Amazon that goes more in depth about this topic. If you would like to go on a head and read it, cool, unless you wanna wait for me to review it, because I got bills coming up and Iām on call for work right now so Iām doing everything I can not to spend unless there is a sale for E-books. I look forward to posting on time next week. Thank you for taking the time to read this. I hope I get to see yāall next week! Until next time Iāll catch yāall on the flip side! -`šÆ INTRO šÆĀ“--------
Energetic shields are just as the name says; they are meant to protect someone or something, but from an energetic/spiritual point of view. In order to cast them, third-party help, such as herbs, talismans, charms, deities, and other spirits, is optional, yet very handy.
-`šÆ TYPES + SCENARIOS šÆĀ“--------
1 Non-filtered shield: is the type of shield that allows no good or bad can to come in. However, if you are not careful with your intentions, it might result in not letting energy and spiritual beings out either. This one is best to do if you truly wish to be unbothered or even trap something within a residence, or you even (sus), for example. So, whether you are doing it solo or in teamwork (herbs, crystals, rocks, or spirits), you need to clarify your intention much better when it comes to the shield letting things out but not in, or if it won't allow either in or out.
2 Filtered shield: this one basically, as the name says, filters what types of energy or spiritual beings you want around the shielded target. You can make this very specific or broader; it's really up to you to decide what you want in and what you want out.
P.S.: You can layer shields, just don't do it too much.
-`šÆ HOW TO CAST šÆĀ“--------
(read the whole thing before you do it)
Before you cast, it's best not to be overly tired, to cleanse the materials if any are used, energize the materials and yourself, cleanse yourself energetically and physically, meditate a bit before doing it, and to cleanse the space if you are shielding a space. Of course, this is all ideal, and you don't need to check off everything all the time, but make sure to at least do the cleansing and even banishing if necessary.
For this tutorial, I'll be teaching you how to cast a shield using your energy, mainly and the help of your guides, and using a talisman/charm when self-shielding.
Now, with your eyes closed or open, you can start to visualize the shield forming as you make your intentions clear. If you are using a charm/talisman, visualize the shield coming from the talisman and shielding you (make sure to have energized the talisman, charm or crystal or honestly whatever the fuck item you chose to use). As you do this, as I've said, you need to gather up all the energy you can so your intention is clear. So, invoke feelings of protection and speak in your head or out loud about what you want to keep in and what you want to keep out, since words have power. Also, I personally recommend reaching out to your guides. You can call upon them like this:
"
Those who watch over me, those who look after me
I call upon you
May you strengthen the shield I place around <my house, me, said person>
May you help this shield keep away <whatever it is you want to keep away>
May you help this shield let in <whatever it is you want to let in>
Thank you
"
You don't need to full-on say this, but it is better, it's more "ideal". Of course, in some immediate situations, you can also quickly gather emotions and energy, visualize the shield being cast, and strengthen them as time ticks, and just call for help intended for your guides.
Here are some images to help you when visualizing the shield:
I personally am not a big fan of speaking, either in my head or out loud, whenever I'm performing. I'm often more inclined to just transmit my energy in a more abstract sense and just "view" what I want. On the other hand, think of words mostly as seals, as in, you're using them to seal off the intention. However, this doesn't work much if you are pairing up with another conscious being, such as a spirit or a deity; thus, make sure to speak in your mind to them what you want.
Either way, for better understanding:
1. Intent is your goal
2. Visualization is a visual version of your goal for a better understanding of what that goal is
3. Energization is gathering energy and sending it on its way to make your intent be achieved (it's the gas to make the car move, basically, and that's the magic).
This can, of course, be broken down many times; it really is up to what you prefer and feels more comfortable.
-`šÆ DISCLAIMERS + FINAL THOUGHTS šÆĀ“--------
When casting anything, well, when doing anything, you must know that you are limited. So, in the case of casting shields, their effectiveness is highly linked to how powerful you are. Still, yes, I do believe that if you receive help from your spiritual team and use third-party help in general, the shields will be stronger. Yet, at the end of the day, they are linked to your power. You are the source of your magic, so you must not get lazy and half ass things (at least not all the time lol).
And when I mention effectiveness, I'm referring to:
- how fast can you cast them
- how durable they are
- how competent they are
With that in mind, I also want to add that if you are a beginner, you're kinda going on this blindly. So, don't shy away from asking your guides for help and re-doing the shield either weekly (minimum) or every two weeks. I also don't recommend beginners reaching for spirits they do not know. "Oh, but Viki, I don't know my spiritual team!" Well, you might not, but they are sure as hell ain't gonna harm you. Thus, they are the first go-to group you should be reaching out to whenever you need assistance. Because that's their job, helping you.
Also, how often you need to rebuild these shields it's very up to how much of a target of negative stuff you are as well. If you are someone who's practicing like everyday always up to some witchy shit, yeah, you're gonna be a target more often than not, even if it's just from neutral beings. And remember, these shields are not only for you. I have my beloved ones living with me, so I'm very careful with what I choose to do in the house since they can be hurt too by negative beings or energy.
Anyway, that's pretty much the basics of shielding plus some insights! Other witches have their own variations, but the essence remains. This post is very much based on my experience, tutorials I have read/watched in books, articles, and videos from other witches. Feel free to leave any questions or suggestions below, or even share your experiences. Just be respectful.

When asked the most important place to begin as a newcomer to the craft, to energy work, or even to simply walking a more spiritual path, more experienced practitioners will often share the basics of their magickal tool cabinet, suggest a bouquet of book titles and YouTube channels, or state plainly that the only correct answer is to let your heart and soul guide you. Only occasionally do I see or hear these types of questions answered with the recommendation to familiarize oneself with spiritual safety and wellbeing prior to diving head-first. But matters of protection, I feel, are one ofĀ theĀ most important things to study up on when starting out, and today, Iād like to share my own thoughts and advice on the topic.
Cleansing, Purification, & Banishing
As I define them in my practice: ToĀ cleanseĀ isĀ to rid a person, place, or thing of stagnant, unwanted, draining, counterproductive, or otherwise negative energies or entities (though positive energies will often accompany them), toĀ purifyĀ isĀ to return a person, place, or thing to its original energetic state, and toĀ banishĀ isĀ to cleanse by authoritative expulsion or removal using an outward-pushing energy. You may find others who define these terms differently or use these words interchangeably, but this is how I have come to define them, each offering their own unique function in my workings. If you are looking at correspondences inĀ my digital grimoire, these energetic properties can be found in items marked asĀ cleansing,Ā restoration, andĀ banishmentĀ respectively.
AĀ cleansingĀ may be performed when you find that energies are stagnant, stuffy, or negative. Unpleasant energies like these can be responsible for inviting in equally unpleasant entities, hindering the results of energetic workings, creating a state of mental or emotional discomfort, brewing a heavy tension in the air, or even causing feelings of sickness in those who are particularly sensitive. As such, it is usually recommended that cleansings be performed on a regular basis ā especially if you live in a space that is regularly exposed to more negative energies. Some common methods of cleansing utilize the smoke of cleansing herbs (alternatively, a spray), water infused with cleansing herbs, or simply a visualization of brilliant white light ā and this is just barely scratching the surface. As with many rituals, there are hundreds of methods of cleansing out there for you to explore, and it is paramount to choose one ā or even create one ā that works forĀ you. Let yourĀ intention āĀ your goal ā be your guiding force. As a general rule, if you are putting your intention into it and you are going about it in a way that feels intuitively compatible, you will more than likely see the results you are looking for.
Often, cleansing ā similarly to banishing ā will result in a feeling of emptiness. You are essentially scrubbing the present energies ācleanā, including energies that may be more positive. On the other hand, you may wish to perform aĀ purification, or restoration, of a person, place, or thing if the goal is to reverse any energetic damage that may have been done while still retaining those unique individual energies. For this, you would utilize restorative herbs instead of cleansing ones and focus your intention accordingly. It seems it is common for practitioners to opt for cleansing over purification ā and even more common for the terms to be defined as one and the same ā but I enjoy having this as a separate option when it is needed. In my practice, this process typically comes into play when I want to remove any absorbed energies from a crystal, charm, or tool but would like to preserve its core energies as much as possible.
Finally,Ā banishmentĀ is used when you want to push an energy or entity out of a particular space, and in this case, the original energies seem to remain wholly unchanged. For this reason, some practitioners choose to also perform a cleansing beforehand. Like cleansing, there are many methods of banishment out there that you can give a try, though the most commonly passed-around is theĀ Lesser Banishing Ritual of the PentagramĀ (or LBRP) of ceremonial magick, sometimes given different flavors for different systems.
Enchanting & Blessing
The emptiness of a cleansing or banishing can feel pleasant enough, but I find that this sometimes allows unwanted energies to creep back in more easily. A blank slate becomes anyoneās game, so to speak. To mitigate this, you may choose to preemptively imbue the space with more intentionally ā and typically positive ā energies. For this, we use enchantment or blessings. ToĀ enchantĀ isĀ to fill a person, place, or thing with intentional (but not necessarily positive) energies, and toĀ blessĀ isĀ to enchant with fresh, positive, and often divine energies.
EnchantmentĀ is one of those foundational things that is pretty crucial to get the hang of when first starting out in a magickal practice, and all it entails is focusing on an intention and willing the energy of that intention to fill the person, place, or thing being enchanted. To a beginner, this can be more difficult, which is why it is also important to learn what these subtle energies can feel like to you. Skipping this step can sometimes deter people away from magick altogether. Lady Gravedancer, one of my favorite witches on YouTube, hasĀ an excellent videoĀ on learning to work with and sense these subtle energies. If this is all new to you, I highly recommend it.
Typically, though, aĀ blessingĀ is more what weāre looking for post-cleansing ā positive, even divine, energies that inspire a sense of wellbeing. If you work with deities, you may also like to ask them to bestow their own blessings in your stead or beside you. Otherwise, itās just enchantment with a wholly positive intention, but if the idea of a blessing feels too religious for your comfort, stick with āenchantmentā and donāt let semantics bog you down.
Warding, Shielding, & Cloaking
In all cases, I tend to feel that the energies weāre working through are not being totally destroyed, but are rather either transmuted, deterred, or even just fragmented. In my opinion, it is usually a good idea to follow up your cleansings or banishments with the re-energizing of your wards. ToĀ wardĀ isĀ to create an energetic protective barrier around a person, place, or thing as a semi-passive and long-term protective measure, toĀ shieldĀ isĀ to create a more short-term ward that surrounds a personal, place, or thing entirely and is envisioned as a bubble, and toĀ cloakĀ isĀ to make a person, place, or thing energetically āinvisibleā or āirrelevantā to wandering energies or entities so that interests are directed elsewhere.Ā You can find relevant correspondences inĀ my digital grimoireĀ marked asĀ protection, security, andĀ invisibility.
WardingĀ can be thought of as the closing and locking of your spiritual entryway, though it is often done with the intention to protect from more than just matters of the spiritual. Iāve known people to create physical barriers around properties using salt and/or eggshells with protective herbs as a base and visualizing their wards rising from that barrier. You might also like to bury protective crystals at the four corners of the property for that additional kick. But once again, there are so many methods out there that it really comes down to personal preference.
I tend to think ofĀ shieldingĀ ā or bubbling, as some call it ā as a more short-term and active form of warding. Shielding is especially useful as an emergency layer of protection when out and about or as an additional layer over your personal wards in outings that you suspect will be energetically taxing. Where wards are thought of as great and powerful walls, shields are typically thought of as entire bubbles surrounding a person, place, or thing on all sides. If youāre an empath like me ā which is a sometimes-misrepresented term Iāll get into in a future article ā shielding is a good practice to have in your pocket for going out into crowded environments, whether that crowd is physical, as in a theme park, or spiritual, as in a hospital. Whatever visualization you choose to use for warding, your shielding process can tend to be similar, and much of it, again, comes down to the intention. It is often the case, though, that this process takes more energy to conduct, and thus, if you choose to keep up a more permanent shield, it may require more care and more frequent energetic charging than your wards do.
CloakingĀ is something I donāt see discussed very often, but it can be very useful to consider when you are trying to be energetically off the radar. And obviously, I am not suggesting you go about doing sneaky, unsavory things. Instead, cloaking may be more beneficial for avoiding unnecessary conflict with nosy neighbors, finding peace to work in a coffee shop, or subduing the attention that can come from large-scale energetic workings. And as always, you may choose to hand-pick some herbs, crystals, or other mystical tools for this purpose, but the recommended visualization varies a bit from that typical bright light you may be used to working with. In the case of invisibility, you may choose to envision the person, place, or thing fading out of view or to mentally play the situation at hand out exactly as you wish it to transpire.
Safety Tips for Spirit Work
Certainly, if you plan to do spirit work ā a line of spiritual work in which will regularly involve energies and entities completely independent of you ā these concepts may be more important to familiarize yourself with than with someone whose only spiritual endeavor is manifesting a little extra spending money every once in a while. Aspiring spirit worker, the following tips are for you:
⢠As per the point of this article, itās a good idea to have your preferred protective methods at the ready prior to actively working with spirits. This, of course, does not mean that your methods cannot change over time ā but when starting out, you should find a method that is compatible with you and gets you the results you need. Once chosen, try to become familiar enough with it that you can cast it off-book in the event of some sort of spiritual emergency.
⢠As a spirit worker, youāll want to cleanse your tools, your space, and yourself very regularly. My preference in my practice is atĀ leastĀ once a month and more frequently if I feel it is necessary. Even if you arenāt involved with spirit work, regular cleansings are a good habit to get into, but it is especially important for those inviting a large number of outside influences into their home.
⢠Get to know your spirit guide(s), and keep them close during any sort of spirit work. Iāve heard from many people who feel that the connection you have with your guide(s) has a sort of solidity to it that can override other communications the moment you ask for it, and I myself have not yet seen evidence to the contrary. If you ever feel uneasy about a communication and are in need of a second opinion on who or what you may be speaking to, ask your guide(s) to come through and communicate with you. Still, as we communicate between realms, discernment is a necessary skill to develop, and having protections in place isĀ alwaysĀ a good idea, regardless of whether you choose to involve your guide(s) or work on your own. If you are completely new to the idea of spirit guides, I do plan to write an article on the topic in the future ā but in the meantime, if youāre interested in meeting yours, Lady Gravedancer also hasĀ a wonderful videoĀ featuring a ritual for communicating with your guides for the first time.
⢠You may also want to look into the idea of casting a circle (another topic Iāll likely be discussing here in the future). While an entire ritual may not be in the cards for your practice, it may help you to develop some alternative ideas for shielding the space around you during active spirit work. In doing so, you maintain greater control over what is permitted to enter. Afterwards, be sure to say your goodbyes and to close up your circle and any portals you may have opened to avoid uninvited visitors outside of working hours. If you are someone who chooses to always leave your space open to visitation ā and some people do ā be aware that anything can enter and be prepared for the circumstances that could stem from this.
⢠If you are someone who allows certain spirits to reside in your home ā what I refer to as my āspirit familyā ā I think it is a hospitable gesture to let those spirits know when you are going to be performing a cleansing or banishing. I canāt imagine that having your energy forcefully transmuted or shoved out the door would be a terribly comfortable thing to experience, so I think of it as a sort of courtesy that exhibits the respect I have for them. This will give them a chance to temporarily leave the space of their own volition while you go through your routine. Alternatively, if you have a special space set up for your spirit family like I do, you may choose to shield that space with the intention for their energies to remain unaffected by the cleansing. Iām not sure that itās the most perfect method, but itās one that Iāve found to work well for my spirit family thus far. In both cases, there are those who would argue that this gives unwanted entities a chance to temporarily leave or take shelter within the shield, as well, but I tend to feel that my spirit family would act accordingly to keep our home safe. It is their home, too, after all.
Despite popular Hollywood tropes, working with spirits doesnāt necessarily equate to āterrifying and dangerousā ā but this does not mean it is without its risks. And just as you wouldnāt find your way into a dark alley in the middle of the night without some pepper spray, itās likely not a good idea to invite spirits into your home without compatible defense measures in place.
Safety Tips for Energy Work
Energy work, in general, tends to have the odd side effect of making you a sort of beacon in the realm of the spiritual ā and the more you do, the more your energy builds, the more your awareness expands, and the brighter your whole being shines. No matter the level you find yourself at spiritually, the following tips are for you (though feel absolutely free to read through the previous section, as well; the additional knowledge can only benefit you):
⢠Whether it be through tarot, runes, pendulums, spirit boards, prayer, or some other form of divination you find useful, it is wonderfully wise to seek guidance regarding any workings you do. This practice can help you to avoid unwanted outcomes, to avoid manifesting something you may not truly want, and to uncover exactly what it is you need to add or take away from your workings to bring you the results that you are looking for.
⢠Keep a journal of what works and what doesnāt in your practice and of any intuitive insights you receive that you feel may be important. Your spiritual path is a deeply personal one, and one personās experience will likely never be perfectly identical to anotherās. There is an abundance of wonderful advice out there. There are many methods out there that work very well for many as-is. But at the end of the day, you must discover what works best for you, even if that is different from the teachings of the majority. Be sure to keep track of it.
⢠Be mindful of loopholes, especially in manifestation workings. Being too specific can sometimes be ineffective, but not being specific enough has the potential to cause even bigger issues. Manifestation, I find, tends to take the path of least resistance, so when putting your energies out there, you want to be sure your intentions donāt put anyone in harmās way. Again, divination can be a wonderful source of guidance prior to your workings.
ā¢Ā IfĀ you are going to be working with negative intentions of any kind ā which is something I donāt advise for a number of reasons, and especially not for beginners ā be sure to deep-cleanse yourself and the space the spell or ritual took place in. In addition, itās generally a good idea to not keep any items used in the working on or near your property. Also know that there are other options, like justice workings, that can be done in place of this. Sometimes when we feel very upset or very angry, we speak or act irrationally and come to regret it later. This can also be true for spellwork, but the results can sometimes be a lot more devastating. Ultimately, I cannot stop you from doing what you feel you must, but at the very least, I hope youāll think things through.
⢠Finally, this may seem like common-sense, but donāt let your spiritual practice throw off balance in your life. The realm of the physical has its own value and importance, and that certainly includes your health and wellbeing. If you find yourself neglecting your health, your hygiene, your friends and family, your responsibilities, or your other hobbies, it may be necessary to take a break or dial it back until youāre able to find a good balance.
A Regular Cleansing Practice
You may have already seen this inĀ my article on making the home more magickal, but I thought it would be good to include, here as well. The following are my two most often-used cleansing rituals ā one which I perform monthly, and the other as-needed:
My Monthly Cleansing Ritual:Ā I perform this ritual on the first of each month. Any cleansing tools to be charged on the altar should be set at least a day before performing the cleansing. The morning of, weather permitting, open windows and play uplifting music or cleansing affirmations, frequencies, or subliminals of choice. Take a cleansing shower. Clean the home as you normally would. When physical cleaning is complete, use a smoke or spray cleansing blend of choice, walking with intention from room-to-room. Pay special mind to corners and doorways. I like to use sound cleansing ā bells, drums, or even snapping your fingers will do ā in these spaces to really ensure the breaking up of any āstuckā energies. If you are someone who performs banishing rituals, you may choose to do so now. At this point, I also take a moment to cleanse myself, particularly as an empath. I then tend to my wards by first taking a blessed salt blend around the perimeter of the property, followed by sitting at the center of the property and funneling my own energy into the ward. If you would prefer to instead bless first and ward after, feel free to do so. It is your ritual, after all. Regardless of which order you perform the ritual in, the blessing process may be a deeply personal one, so this is a step I suggest thinking on a bit rather than following to the letter. In my ritual, I use a spray with positive energy-promoting herbs (as well as herbs that may promote the intention I wish to set for the month) and follow up with prayer to my deities. If youāre interested in a more in-depth look at my Monthly Cleansing Ritual, I do have detailed instructions available onĀ my Monthly Blessings Patreon.
My As-Needed Cleansing Ritual:Ā This is essentially a truncated version of my monthly ritual. If the energies are something Iāve tracked in or absorbed too much of, I will take a cleansing shower first. Following this, perform your usual smoke or spray cleansing, focusing especially on any room(s) that may be the most abundant in the energy that brought about this need for an emergency cleanse. You may also like to perform a shorter version of your regular blessing ritual. Unless the situation is really dire, I will generally stick to my spray in this case.
Just to reiterate, all of the information, including these rituals, are from my own practice and my own experience. YouĀ mustĀ do what works forĀ youĀ if you want to get the absolute best results and the most fulfilling experience. Take what serves you, and leave the rest. Much love and many blessings to you on your journey. Take care of yourself.

So what is shielding?
Shielding is a manipulation of energy, used to create a barrier between yourself and unwanted, usually negative or malicious energies. Itās a basic aspect of spellwork that everyone, beginner or experienced, should use to keep themselves safe.
What can I use shielding for?
Some beginner-level uses for shielding are drawing a circle, or casting a spell. A more experienced individual might use shielding in astral travel or spirit work, where there are a lot more malicious energies involved. Personally, I use shielding as often as possible, for instance when I do tarot readings, spells, spirit work, shadow work, and especially cursing. It gives that extra guarantee that you won't flood your personal space with unwanted energies.
Other uses include shielding against real-life dangers, to a certain degree. I often shield when I am walking through town at night for extra protection. But please remember to take other measures too! Call someone, pretend to be on the phone, plan your route, and even carry pepper spray if it's legal where you are.
An easy shielding method:
The easiest way to explain this is to think of your energy as a physical manifestation. Think how power attacks are shown in anime or cartoons - a streak of colour or light, or an element. Make it personable to you: fire signs (Leo/Aries/Sagittarius) might visualise fire, or a red energy or light etc.
Firstly, some people prefer to cleanse before shielding. I don't think its all that necessary but the choice is yours.
Begin by easing yourself into meditation. Get comfortable, and use whichever technique works for you. I have various methods for this in my visualisation lessons if you are struggling.
Attempt to visualise the energies surrounding you in your mind. It might be a swirling colour of light, almost like a cloud of dust. It could be flames, it could be water. Maybe try to see it held within your hand.
Now, attempt to shape this energy around your entire body. You might want to start with a bubble or a cube surrounding you. Feel this shape surrounding and protecting you. Visualise negative and unwanted energies being held back by it.
You can also layer shields, so if you are working with a particularly malicious energy you might want to have multiple shapes surrounding you, all within each other. You can also work with deities or spirits to ask them to shield you too.
Shielding Incantation
When I am shielding, I recite a spell as well as using visualisation techniques.
The shield of protection, I carry it strong,
No ill wishes or trouble shall come along,
You cannot harm me, or weaken my soul,
My light is my weapon, and peace is my goal.
Try it out for yourself and let me know in the comments how it went! Thank you as always for reading.Ā Please message for requests.
