I’ve stumped my father.

I turned on the TV, and as my dad walks up the stairs he says:

“Let me guess; Friends?”

“Nope.”

“Hugh Jackman?”

“Nope.”

“I’m confused.”

Today, I cried driving home from work because I was listening to The Greatest Showman soundtrack and felt a need to release my emotions over loving Hugh Jackman so much.

I think I have a problem. But I have no plans to fix it.

The Correct Way

I watched every X-Men film and put them in the correct order of "how to watch."

You may be asking why I've spent my days off from work doing the research for this, or you may not care. But, in case you do want to know, I've done this for the people who have not seen any of the movies and want to get the best out of the experience. I've done this for those who don't want to be confused when piecing everything from the timelines together. Because, without any direction, any fan can tell that things are a bit of a clusterfuck.

Not to mention, when you Google what the correct order to watch these movies is, every order you'll find is so inaccurate it actually blew my mind. So, if you want to know what the actual best and correct order to watch these films is, here you go:

1. X-Men: First Class (2011) 2. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) 3. X-Men (2000) 4. X2 (2003) 5. X-Men: The Last Stand (2006) 6. The Wolverine (2013) 7. X-Men: Days of Future Past (2014) 8. X-Men: Apocalypse (2016) 9. X-Men: Dark Phoenix (2019) 10. Deadpool (2016) 11. Logan (2017) 12. Deadpool 2 (2018) 13. Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)

Now, a few things to note about this order:

I would love to know and am absolutely open to any comments or messages about whether or not you think these movies should be in a different order. This order was crafted after I spent 3 days watching these movies to come up with what made the most sense to me.

Yes, perhaps it is confusing that the years these movies were made are completely out of order on this list. But still, bear with me; I promise it will make sense when you watch it like this.

A Masterlist

My relationship with this film is beyond complicated, okay?

I waited 8 years to finally sit down and watch this masterpiece directed by Damien Chazelle. Now, according to Letterboxd, I’ve seen this thing FOUR FREAKING TIMES?! And listen, before you ask me if it took me so long because I live under a rock like Patrick Star: NO. It just came out when I was 16 and I did not care to see the movies that were winning Academy Awards — I was into watching biopics of a band I was obsessed with (shoutout to 1D’s This Is Us, you’ll always be my favorite) and the sitcom Friends.

And to be brutally honest, when La La Land finally hit Netflix for the first time, I actually turned it off since the first five minutes bored me. The same thing would happen the next two times I tried to watch it again. An insane idea, really, since I adore “Another Day of Sun” now. Another thing to note is that when I was 16, Ryan Gosling existed in my head but was not my “it” actor of choice. (I’m so sorry)

Anyway, I bring this up because I felt a need to write [multiple] short blogs after I was told to sit my ass down, skip to minute six if I have to, and watch it because it is without a doubt amazing. So, not that this movie is in need of any more publicity and/or praise, here is what is bound to be a chaotic corner of my lil thoughts on why it’s my favorite horror movie.
