“CI SARANNO I DRONI” (THERE WILL BE DRONES”) is a Para(noid)-Essay guided by non-linear logic and by intuition. Combining discarded material, 16mm film, low resolution footage, test graphics and interviews extracted from the heritage of AAMOD (Archivio Audiovisivo del Movimento Operaio e Democratico), CSID scrutinizes the complex processes of metamorphosis of power structures that took place in the second half of the 20th century in Italy. Segmented into three chapters, the Para-Essay draws a non-linear Para-History of declining institutions, defeated counterculture, deep state actors, omnipresent surveillance, neoliberal doctrine and violent privatisation of everything. This visual exploration unfolds from dual perspectives: the metaphysical realm of the ever-present and ever evolving Power’s gaze and the individual and collective existential level. Mixing low and high culture, CSID aims to tell a (Hi-)Story that plays with the language of conspiracy theories, noise and politics. In this Hi-Story populated of invisible characters, every visible subject in the film becomes a symbol and, paradoxically, nothing happens: it already did or is just about to. -----
