“Hey!” Val chuckled lightly as Georgie placed a quick kiss on her cheek. “Yeah it’s a waste but it’s Marcus’ money, so I don’t care.” Her boss would kill Val if he heard this though. “Three.” She quickly replied, pausing for a moment to think about it. “Wait, no – I think it’s four times.” The blonde sighed, her shoulders shrugged. “That would be a great. I’d take any excuse to spend time with my favorite blonde.” She nudged her friend, chuckling. “You are not in a hurry, right?”

The blonde let out a soft laugh at the comment, nodding quickly, “Very, very true...” she hummed, quickly ignoring the coffee a quick moment later as if it had never spilt. Her face soured at the amount of time Val had had to do something like that, but a moment later, she was grinning, “Well good,”  she hummed, nudging her friend back in return, “I’m off until Wednesday, so I’m all yours.” 

“Be my guest.” He gestured to the seat even as she sat, an appreciate gaze raking over her figure. A momentary silence. “What’d you order?”

“Thanks,” she hummed gently, making herself comfortable and crossing one long leg over the other as she settled, “Me?” she asked, a little surprised by the question, “Uh, I actually got a panini and some chilli cheese fries. I’m in a carb mood, apparently.” 

“I bartend at a couple of places and freelance here and there.” Noah shrugged. “I mostly tend at Brooklyn Pub and BluePrint.” The barista called their names and he took his drink with a warm smile and a quiet thank you. “Have you ever been to either those places?”

“Oh cool,” Georgie grinned softly, her face a little blank when he offered up some names. Looking over at the barista when their drinks were made, Georgie said thank you too and quickly moved to take hers, “I don’t think so, no... but now I’ve got someone who shouts me a coffee, maybe he’s the kind of bartender I need to be friends with.” 

 Noah raised a brow at her drink order, although it wasn’t too surprising to him. At least she didn’t order a pumpkin spice latte, the season was in for those and more often than not he say girls with this drinks in hand. “I’m not judging.” He said, lifting his hands in surrender. “”I don’t judge people on their alcoholic orders, why would I judge on their coffee ones?” He laughed. Typically he didn’t judge customers when working. The only time he ever did was if someone was clearly inexperienced at order a cocktail.

Georgie laughed gently when his hands lifted in surrender, thankful that he wasn’t actually judging her. Even if he was, but was too polite about it, she was thankful, “Are you a bartender?” she asked when he mentioned drink orders, “Where do you work?” 

“Well…” Noah shrugged. “Coffee is a good start to any day, even if you have nothing to do.” He walked over to the counter and put his order in, a small black coffee, simple enough, “…and then whatever she’s ordering too.” He told the employee and stepped aside for her to tell the barista what drink to make.

Georgie couldn’t help but agree and laughed softly when he spoke, “That definitely sounds like the best idea.” She moved toward the counter with them man, waiting for him to order first before offering up her order as well, “I’ll have a white chocolate mocha please--” When the barista left to actually make their drinks, Georgie raised a finger to the man who had bought her another coffee, “Don’t judge me. I know it’s the actual worst sugar-filled, blonde white girl drink... but it’s so good.” 

GEORGIE: Isn't it just cute as all hell???

JAMIE: Sarcasm?

Georgie was looking forward to meeting up with a guy she’d been chatting to online for a few long weeks. They’d chatted a lot about their lives and how they’d gotten to where they were, but she still hadn’t told him what she did for a living. The ‘pornstar’ thing wasn’t really something you could mention before meeting someone because their expectations about how first date would end was a little too intense most of the time. So she’d told this particular man she was a receptionist and he still seemed rather keen to meet up with her. She’d showered and dressed nicely, doing her hair and make up softly so she didn’t look too done up before ordering herself an Uber.

Lucian nodded, a chuckle escaping them as they did so. “Maybe,” they answered. “Although you probably are right.” Some days they couldn’t help but wish they’d been born some other time, where people didn’t obsess about friends counts or what filter to put on a photo —- it wasn’t really important. “You, too, and really, you don’t. It’s fine.”

“Probably,” she grinned gently, chuckling brightly a moment later. Running her hand through her hair as they insisted she didn’t need to get them another drink, “Oh c’mon! Not to sound creepy, but give me your number, we can meet up sometime and I’ll repay you.” 

JAMIE: I... think you sent this to the wrong person.

GEORGIE: Oh shit!

“Come on,” Noah insisted. “I’m sure you bought the coffee to help you get through the day.” He held the door open for her, “We can’t have you falling asleep or not being able to function later on. I’m sure you’ve got things to do.”

She tilted her head a little, a smile on her lips when he insisted he get her a coffee. Chuckling gently, Georgie moved through the now open door once more, “Thank you --” she hummed, “That’s so kind of you. I don’t have much to do today, actually... but we can pretend I do if it makes you feel better.”

“Who’s this all you’re referring to?” Lucian’s tone was light as they spoke and they shrugged their shoulders. A moment later they laughed, though, because who were they kidding, there were definitely days when they could get sucked into the world of memes. “But yeah, you’re right, even I have to admit to that,” he added then, nose wrinkling for a brief moment. When she offered her hand, however, he took it and smiled. “Lucian.”

Georgie laughed a little and shrugged non-committally, “I mean... maybe I was using the royal ‘we’.” She laughed along with them, knowing they both knew just how useless the generation they landed themselves in seemed, “It’s lovely to meet you, Lucian. I owe you a coffee, so thank you.” 

It was nice that the other woman seemed concerned, too, because there really were too many people who wouldn’t have had a second thought for her dogs. Holly nodded at her words and laughed. “They are,” she answered. “I decided I needed a pack of my own when I got here apparently.”

Georgie laughed a little at the comment about her having a pack, her eyes wide with excitement as she reached out for one of the dogs, “Can I pet them...?” Some pups weren’t people friendly and the blonde understood that, but she couldn’t resist a little pat if she was allowed. 

Nico had another crazy week, running between her classes, her paralegal job and her internship with not enough hours in the day to get everything done, and certainly not enough to include extra sleep in there. She was existing solely on coffee at this point, as evidenced by another run to a coffee shop to get another cup. She was just reaching out to grab the door handle when a blonde woman came out, not paying much attention and crashing into Nico before she could even make a noise in warning. Nico jumped back, avoiding the coffee from landing on her leather boots with a loud, over-dramatic grasp. “No harm, no foul,” she said in response, after bending down to check to make sure that was in fact the case. “Honestly, I’m just glad I’m not the one with spilt coffee. I think it’d be enough to drive me to tears on a day like today.” 

The boots looked rather expensive -- that was if they were real leather like G thought they were -- but she was thankful to see nothing had spilt on the other woman, “Oh good...!” she hummed, looking back up at the woman and smiling gently, “I mean... it was my third for the day, so it’s probably a blessing in disguise.” A beat later, she asked, “Are you okay?”
