you’d payed little mind to him once you walked in, smile easy and set on spending the night with your friends. diluc’s heart jerked in his chest at your entrance, fully enraptured by the ethereal glow you had seemed to emit under the fluorescent lights of angel’s share.

not good. he couldn’t possibly go on for longer, could he ? perhaps it was time for him to come clean about his feelings, to bring you on that romantic stroll through the fields of the winery during dusk, just as he had once dreamt about. maybe then he would finally put his feelings for you into words, lending you his heart to hold as you please as if you hadn’t already held free reign over it for the past few months.

diluc puts the glass down, sighing deeply at the thought. he sneaks a glance at your face once again, feeling his head feel lighter at the sight of your smile. it was aggravating. feelings were aggravating. it was laughable, almost. the way a man of his nature could effortlessly be left a confused, complicated fool just at the thought of having you near. it would drive him up a wall time and time again, and diluc can’t help but wonder if you would ever lend him your own heart to shelter.

diluc

it isn’t easy to catch diluc off guard, but being around you makes him feel at peace, enough to sooth the seemingly constant crease of his brows and tense muscles of his shoulders. he’s at ease around you; having you stop by at the tavern while he’s bartending never fails to bring a smile to his face

diligent as always, he works as he usually does with you seated in front of him. he doesn’t pay you much thought nor does he indulge you in much of a conversation. as much as he’d enjoy spending some time with you, he already had his hands full tending to the patrons of the night

he leaves you to your own devices for the most part, unsuspecting of your scheming

your surprise kiss manages to stun him for a split second. he’s a bit stiff, barely able to reciprocate the kiss before you’re pulling away from him to settle back into your seat. the tips of his ears are left red, but diluc’s able to compose himself as much as he could in that short fracture of time

his eyes dart from side to side to make sure nobody witnessed your kiss. the embarrassment of having someone see a brief showcase of affection between him and his s/o would bother him for days

he clears his throat after getting over the initial shock, and his fingers proceed to fiddle with the hems of his gloves. he then asks if you’d needed anything from him, and that you could’ve gotten his attention some other way

hearing you express your want of a kiss only works to further fuel diluc’s awkwardness. he isn’t the best at being smooth when he’s already been flustered, so he absentmindedly nods his head before busying himself with cleaning a few glasses

the kiss stays at the back of his mind for a short time before he’s properly able to shake it off. he plans to return the affection with a few kisses of his home once he’s able to get back to you

jean

a hopeless romantic at heart, jean’s read about lovers sharing secret kisses in a few romance novels of her’s in the past. she’s thought about sharing such an intimate moment with you before, the mental image alone enough to make her heady with love and subtle traces of embarrassment

she never goes through with it nor does she hope for you to initiate it anytime in the future. she brushes off the thoughts briskly and leaves it as a fleeting want of the past

that is, until you catch jean in the middle of her daily schedule one day and pull her to the side for a quick press of your lips to hers

jean’s shocked, left sputtering for a good second or so. she’s visibly flustered at first, hues of pink creeping up on her cheeks and eyes bright and gleaming

she doesn’t give you a chance to really take in the sight of her in that moment, so unlike her usual cool and composed nature. she takes in a deep breath before smiling at you, bidding you a good afternoon before moving on with her tasks for the day. though she’s no longer visibly flustered, her heart stays pounding in her chest until she’s gotten far enough away from you

as much as he enjoys staying inside with you, he’s also one to love going out together !! whether it be to the tavern, a restaurant, or even a casual stroll through the streets, he’ll be sure to let you know that you make things more fun wherever you may go

kaeya is well acquainted with the terrain of mondstadt - he uses his knowledge to his advantage to bring you to seemingly flawless places to stargaze with him. he brings you to settle on a clear field of grass, drinks set off to the side in preparation for another night spent under the stars with you. he urges you to lean back onto his chest before wrapping his arms loosely around your midriff. he feels at peace then, as if the world had paused just for a moment to allow him the simple luxury of pure happiness

he has way too much fun messing with you </3 his determination to get a rise out of you is unwavering,, he can go hours picking at you just to get any type of reaction. he makes obnoxious comments every time you seem to be growing annoyed, always teetering on the cusp of pushing you to your limit and pulling you back with charming words and loving touches. he rarely ever outright apologizes for provoking you, but kaeya does go out of his way to make it up to you after he’s had his fun

childe

childe loves being able to do simple things with you, like talking and laughing. it feels so pure, devoid of the ill intentions he always finds himself surrounded by. he’ll give you his undivided attention when he’s able to!! his eyes stay on you while you talk, smile never faltering. he can keep up with you talking for hours if you’d desire, being ever so responsive and enthusiastic to each of the jokes you crack and anecdote you retell

completely smitten by the look you get when talking about your interests. he’d prod you to talk about them more, eager to see the happiness on your face. he’s able to recall bits and pieces about the things you’re interested in - he brings them up on purpose every now and then just to get smug about remembering something you seem to care so much about

kind of obvious, but he’s willing to train with you if you’re interested in it!! he’ll tell you not to hold back on him, fully prepared to take you down in the end. he toys with you for a good while, prancing around and barely giving you time to register his movements around you. he always ends with pinning you down to the floor, his laughter light while he brings his hand up to brush across your cheek

if you aren’t already skilled in fighting, childe will set aside some time every week to train you in self defense. he worries for you, fearful that a day will come where he won't be there to protect you when you most need it. he makes sure you know the basics at the very least, for both the sake of your safety and his troubled mind

some days he may invite you to come watch him train on his own.. mostly just to show off.. seeing you impressed boosts his pride and motivation to do better immensely

while he enjoys impressing you with his skills in battle, he’s also keen on displaying his more household skills in front of you. he really goes the extra mile sometimes,, every so often you’ll come back to a full course meal and a spotless house with none other than childe sitting idly by with a proud smile

he tries his best, he really does … diluc makes an effort to give some sort of response to return your affection when you tell him you love him. his efforts come in many forms, ranging from embarrassed huffs to light pats on your head to spontaneous kisses. he gets especially flustered when you say it in the presence of other people. he isnt ashamed to be your lover or anything, but it does feel a bit strange for him to make your love so obvious to other people. although he’d rather keep your relationship affairs more private, he’s accepted that he cant really control what you’re willing to share to others. diluc just silently accepts every gesture of fondness from your end, albeit a bit embarrassed in the process

each time he’d try to psych himself up to confess his love for the first time, he’d back out last second. he could feel his hands getting clammy and throat drying up by the second every time,, so he always just decided that he would just have to wait for a better time to tell you he loves you

when he eventually did end up confessing, it was in the spur of the moment. it was a simple goodbye. the same goodbye he’d given you time and time again, except this time he had unintentionally threw in an “i love you” at the end. he freezes instantly,, and it took everything in him to not speed walk out the door and act like nothing out of the ordinary had happened

it was him who was up at an ungodly hour of the day, causing a ruckus in your kitchen for what you’d assumed to be no good reason. you trudged out of your bedroom, clothes disheveled and eyes bleary from the sudden interruption of your sleep. ajax was clearing the table from his used dishes, sleeves rolled up to reveal his toned forearms. he feels your gaze on him and turns his head to send a boyish smile your way. he winces at the unamused expression he gets in return.

“is it a crime for me to crave eggs ?” ajax’s attempts to lightheartedly reason with you were futile, much to his amusement.

“maybe it wouldn't be if it weren't 2 in the morning.” he laughs, wiping his hands on a nearby rag. 

“sorry for waking you,” ajax puts his hand on your shoulder, tugging your body towards his. “come here.” he wraps his arms around you, fully engulfing you in his hold. your face is meshed into his chest - his heartbeat was deep, clearer than it had ever been. he ducks his head down, eyes shutting closed and nose buried in your hair.

he lightly rocks you back and forth, giving himself the pleasure of having you so close to him. such moments of contentment were a rarity for someone like him. nonetheless, he finds himself falling victim to you time and time again; he had no choice but to allow himself to be a normal man when you were all he could see in that moment. 

ajax pulls back ever so slightly, just enough to give the both of you some space to step about. he leads you with his arms tossed lazily around your waist, stepping to and fro in the illumination of a place he had learned to call home away from snezhnaya.

his smile grows wider as you spin him, eyes gleaming almost unnoticeably brighter. his laugh is as sweet as it normally is, almost too upbeat for a 2am endeavor. he pauses in his movements, taking a moment to press a joyous kiss to your lips. you can feel him smile, laughter still threatening to escape his mouth. fondness glazes over his eyes as he separates from you.

you are then promptly dragged to the kitchen, still caged within kaeya’s arms. not getting much time to spend with you throughout the day makes for an insistent kaeya wanting you to stick by his side while he does miscellaneous things around the house. he loves catching up with you while he’s eating,, he’ll offer his own food numerous times, dead set on getting you to have a bite if you refuse

silences on these nights are tranquil, comforting almost. there’s normally nothing of note that occurs during these times, but spending them with you is something kaeya’s greatly appreciative of. a couple years back, he never would have dreamed of having someone to come home to again after all he’s seen and done

kaeya sleeps most soundly when enveloped in your soothing embrace. when going to bed, kaeya adores being wrapped up in your arms. he leans his head on your chest, close enough to be able to hear your heartbeat. his limbs entangle with your own, legs thrown haphazardly around your waist to keep you close. he feels his heart swell with love whenever you allow yourself to pet through his hair

kaeya’s a deep sleeper - he takes some time to fall asleep, but his deep breathing makes it clear when he finally does </3 he wakes up if you stir too much, barely opening his eye to grumble under his breath

diluc, despite himself, gets sentimental on late nights. it’s on these moonlit nights where he really lets himself go,, showering you with his own sappy words of praise and appreciation

sometimes it just hits him like, wow, my s/o really does love me huh :]

as much as diluc enjoys being on the receiving end of your bouts of affection, he does get easily flustered when you indulge him in more public settings. he has enough self restraint to never snap at you, but he allows himself to gently push you away when he feels as though his heart’s on the verge of bursting. he has a hard time deciphering whether it’s from pure love or embarrassment,,

afterwards, he becomes overly apologetic once you’re finally behind closed doors,, the last thing he wants is for you to feel dejected by him

childe relishes in your affection literally all of the time </3

he may even make it into a little game between the two of you.. who can outdo the other’s affection ? who’ll be the first to get flustered ? he comes out as the winner more often than not, too stubborn to give you the satisfaction of seeing him off his guard and red in the face

he gets jokingly pouty on days he feels as if your acts of affection were lackluster in comparison to other days. he’ll continuously prod at you until you give in and offer a peck on the forehead at the very least

every expression of love you give him is always, without a fail, returned with double the amount

make a comment about how pretty his eyes are ? he’ll respond with his own compliments about your features, with an added squish to your cheeks for good measure. praise him for his wide array of skills ? he laughs and messes with your hair, telling you that they’d definitely come in particularly useful when you finally move in with him

childe’s the type to come over to your house just to flop over your body and just,, lay there for a while,, he wouldn’t mind if you did the same !! he finds great comfort in just being near you,, he loves the safety and contentment he gets to let himself feel when alone with you

he’s all over you even in public.. it’s not that he has a hard time holding back, he just doesn't realize exactly what he’s doing until someone points it out ?? it just becomes second nature to him to have an arm tossed around your waist at all times. he feels a small hollowness inside whenever you’re gone from his side for longer periods of time than usual

diluc’s terrible at dropping hints about his feelings for you - if he even tries to drop any at all

it takes him a long time to come to terms with the newfound affection he finds himself feeling for you. the signs were quite evidently there but he couldn't put two and two together until he had no choice but to consider having feelings for you on yet another sleepless night with his mind focused on nothing but thoughts of you

up until then he brushed every small thing off as they came. he notices himself subconsciously putting more effort in getting ready for the day when he knows he’ll be seeing you at some point ? well, who’s to say that he wasn’t just feeling an urge to practice some self care that day ? he feels his face growing warmer after you smile at something he says ? the weather had been getting hotter recently, there was no way you could be the cause of something like that, right ?

he finally admits that you were the cause of his sudden loss of composure,, it’s a brief sensation of both relief that he was finally able to put a word to what he was feeling and uneasiness from an unsure future with you

there isn't much change in his behavior around you once he realizes that his feelings extend beyond friendliness, he just kind of accepts them and goes along with his life </3 ceo of silently pining 

diluc does small things for you just because he feels like it,, he’ll have a seat at the front of the bar always reserved for you, he’ll invite you to the winery on holidays if you dont have anything planned, he’ll keep the small details about you tucked into the back of his mind for future reference

he just !! cares so much but doesn't know how to get his thoughts and feelings across to you :( until he figures out a good way to do so, he’s content with keeping his adoration and affection for you at a distance

kaeya makes it so obvious that he has some sort of interest in you,, but he also has a tendency to skirt around formally confessing until he’s sure his feelings are reciprocated

he’ll be straightforward about the fondness he feels for you, having no qualms about spoiling you with compliments and praises. but, from the way he goes about communicating with you, they often come out as lighthearted, almost as if he were only saying them to get a reaction out of you

that’s only partially true, though. yes, kaeya gets a kick out of seeing you flustered, especially when he’s the cause of it, but he also feels the need to reveal little bits of his affections for you. whether you take them as genuine or not, he knows that each and every compliment he sends your way comes from a place deep in his heart

he also dismisses his feelings for a short while at first,, it’s mostly out of a buried fear of what the future may hold for both him and the people he cares about if he gets too involved with them

he snaps out of it though,, when the yearning becomes a bit too much he cant help but wonder if he’d regret not indulging in being with you when he has the chance

as confident as he may seem, he’s slightly hesitant when it comes to confessing. he sometimes slips into tangents that almost spiral into confessions - he always catches himself, though

kaeya let’s himself do things that aren't inherently romantic, but can be passed off as such ?? he’ll wrap his arm around your shoulder when he laughs, he’ll drive away any person that seems to be bothering you in a heartbeat, he’ll sneak away during work hours to spend a few minutes with you for “a quick recharge” as he calls it - this is all done within reason, of course. the last thing he wants to do is make you uncomfortable

he lets you brush his hair if he has time to spare before leaving the house !! he wasn’t too keen on the idea at first, but he gets more comfortable with it the more you do it

kaeya puts a lot of effort into taking care of himself,, he spends a good amount of money on hair and skin products,, he regularly gifts you fairly pricy sets of lotions, perfumes, etc

he looks pretty all the time ?? how does he do it ???

he lends you one of his old shirts to wear to sleep when he knows he’ll be away from home for a while. he dips it in his usual cologne before passing it off to you. his heart beats a bit faster at the sight of you in his clothes

he constantly showers you in compliments,, the lighthearted lilt of his voice fading into nothingness on his more sentimental days

he cuddles your pillow when you’re gone from home. he isn’t too prone to missing you, but when he finds himself not being able to rid his mind of thoughts of you he cant help but sulk. he gets flustered when you catch him lazing around with your pillow in his arms,, he tries to laugh it off and change the subject but it doesn’t really work </3

kaeya loves cooking with you !! he sees it as a good opportunity to unwind and spend some nice quality time with you, also with the bonus of being able to enjoy a warm homemade meal with you

diluc’s hands are warm, sometimes even a little sweaty from having his gloves on so often. they aren’t notably rough, nor are they particularly smooth - they feel as though he goes through minimal efforts to take care of them ??

he finds his hands gravitating towards your own when alone with you. he intertwines his fingers with your own at first, the pad of his index finger rubbing in a repetitive motion across the back of your hand. he takes note of anything that feels off, whether it be a minor paper cut or something bigger. if it’s something of actual concern, he’ll be persistent in fussing over you

he could probably recognize you from the feeling of your hands alone, he commits even the slightest things to memory

he has a thing for taking his gloves off before taking your hand. if it’s possible, he’ll do it without hesitation. he likes the feeling of your skin on his; no point in letting his gloves get in the way of that

diluc holds your hand while doing various mundane tasks throughout the day. filling out paperwork ? his hand covers yours from across the table. cuddling in bed ? his fingers somehow manage to lace through your own. reading a book ? his thumb is brushing across your knuckles

kaeya

kaeya’s hands are pretty moderate most of the time, not too warm or too cold. they're well kept, nails neatly filed and hands smooth. the only exception is the pads of his fingers - they get a bit coarse when he doesn't get the time to properly care for them

he only really goes to hold your hand when you’re out together, rarely ever when you’re relaxing indoors. he does it to ensure that you’re close by his side. he’d hate to lose track of you in the middle of a crowd, so he makes an effort to hold on tight when the situation calls for it

he brings your hand up to his lips at random moments. whether it be on a whim of romance or in a mischievous attempt at seeing you flustered, you’ll never know. he switches from kissing the back of your hand to your palm, sometimes even pressing a flurry of kisses onto your skin. he always breaths out a laugh afterwards, patting your head from time to time
