10 page paper due tomorrow. 

Haven't even started yet. 

When a teacher assigns a 6-page paper and you only have 5 written, you need a few ways to get you to your goal length without actually putting in any extra work. Changing the margins or enlarging the font size are outdated methods, and teachers know to look out for those tricks your great-grandparents probably used. 

To lengthen my papers, what I do is make the font size of every period in my paper a little bigger. It really is amazing; for a 3-4 page paper, if can easily add an extra half-page. I'm always surprised that this isn't common knowledge for many students. 

1. In Word, go to Edit > Replace

2. Type a period in the top box that says "Find What". Type another period in the bottom box that says "Replace With". 

3. Highlight the BOTTOM period and click the little arrow that you will find in the bottom left-hand corner to extend the box. (Note: Your box may already be extended. So if there's no arrow in the bottom left, skip this step.)

4. Click Format, then select Font. 

5. Change Font size to 14. 

6. Hit "Ok", then click "Replace All".

BAM Your paper just got longer. Still not enough? Repeat the process for every comma. And then every apostrophe. And then every parenthesis.
