her retractable wings are neat. i hope she can magical girl transform like rebirth hawkman could (can still? IDK)

I liked it a lot. I liked that we got to acknowledge her past relationsihp with carter (and that they were serious) and the importance of that.

I liked that we got to see her still have all her relateable issues and stuff.

If LOVED how the artist drew her. She was very pretty and buff.

I did like that we see an old friend of hawkgirl's (From college) who is queer/ possibly trans (said character admitted they dont know)

also, dialogue acknowledged kendra's buff arms :P

I don't know what's going on with galaxy, i guess we'll see. I"m guessing she'll show up later in teh comic.

the talking corgi is eh. but :P who cares

I think its interesting that the villain uses nth metal stuff. i wonder what the new lore around that is :P

alright the critiques:

would have been nice to see more OLD friends of hers. I guess we see dinah (black canary) and karen (powergirl. if i recall her name right). apparenlty she had a relationship with jonn (martian manhunter) at some point which i don't know enough about her time on JLA in rebirth to know if i like taht. I guess i just mostly miss seeing her interact with carter and hector though, and idk if we'll ever get that back in canon ;-;

feels almost like the opposite complaint i'd have if i was reviewing the hawkman rebirth series today: there were TOO many other characters. I want to focus more on hawkgir;, dammit :P though most of the drama/ dialogue was about her i guess.

I do think that it could go good or bad that the issue ends with her in peril. will depend how it continues. Its nice to have a cliffhanger but it does vaguely remind of of hte previous hawkgirl solo she had (2007) where it felt like she was ALWAYS in peril.

But overall i really enjoyed it :D
