“Paige and Walter have always had periodic breakdowns in communication. Sylvester has become less afraid since he met his wife but more afraid at the same time. And him and Walter, well, they’ve always had little things going on. Every one of us, really. We were strong together, but there were tiny cracks there that were just waiting to blow up, like when something hits your windshield and you don’t even notice but then suddenly the tiniest of pebbles hitting the weak point in just the right – or wrong – way sends a streak across your vision.” He took a sip of his coffee. “I think we all knew, on some level. We all wanted to pretend that none of that existed. Probably just like Walter and Paige both didn’t want to acknowledge that they had things to work on. Doesn’t mean they were bad. Doesn’t mean Scorpion was bad. Just means we all took each other for granted a little bit.”

Summary:  Can our favorite characters still save the world while working against each other? Is there any hope for Fly after Florence’s finale admission? Can Waige find their way back to each other? Scorpion started with Paige being the one who was “normal” but had enough heart for all of them and who loved and protected them and encouraged growth. It ended with her telling the man she claimed to love that he was essentially a child and was never going to improve.

Scorpion started with Walter caring for Sylvester (making sure he remembered to eat). It ended with Sylvester thinking Walter hurt him on purpose.

Scorpion started with a big scene about how when someone tried to hurt one of them, the others would jump in to defend. It ended with them hurting one another.

Scorpion started with Sylvester safe and loved. It ended with him heartbroken, twice.

Scorpion started with Paige looking at Walter and her son and feeling hope. It ended with her walking away.

Scorpion started with heart. It ended with bitterness.

“So…what? We hope Florence’s crush fades, hope she tells everyone that, hope they get their heads out of their asses and talk to each other and hope that they agree to be a team again before some innocent person dies because one of these two teams are down a few essential roles? That’s a lot of hoping, Ralph.”

Post “A Lie In The Sand.”  With the adults in their lives refusing to communicate and make amends, Scorpion’s teenagers take matters into their own hands.
