Sonny: So I'm stuck at work.

Sonny: If I give you my credit card, would you bring me food?

Sonny: There will be something in it for you.

“yeah right, you’re one of thos idiots who’d rather let it bleed out than to go to the hospital and risk having questions or your parents called.” he rolled his eyes back. “oh, you’re welcome.” cartel smirked, rubbing some alcohol over the wound. “there you go miss sassy ass. you can thank me later when you’re not infected.” 

“no, i would go to the hospital because i’m not an IDIOT. i’m not looking to die anytime soon.” she was irritated, to say the least. why did this kid think he knew everything? she hissed as he rubbed alcohol on her cut, shoving his hand away. “thanks so much. my hero.” she smiles, sarcasm laced with her words.

      “hey, i was just making sure. if you didn’t win the bruises would’ve been for nothing.” kol pointed out with a grin, returning his hands to his pockets. “how have you been doing in them lately?”

“fair point. i guess i’ll consider myself lucky, then.” she shrugged, a small smirk on her lips. “fine, i guess. i mean, i think most of ‘em look at me like a child, which sucks. but it’s fun to prove them wrong. how have you been doing?”

“You have an odd way of trying,” Bradley mumbled as he pulled at a hangnail. His head snapped up at her question. “No, I’m not going to go crying to them! If they think we’re getting along then fine.”  

“consider yourself lucky i’m trying.” she smirked. it wasn’t like she wanted to dislike her new family, but for some reason, she couldn’t stop herself from being rude. “which they do and let’s try to keep it that way. we don’t need any dramatics.”

“Just some teens trying their hand at stealing from that gas station off 67th. Nothing to major, here’s that coke kid.” He set the open coke accross from his daughter. “Enough of about work, what have you been up to today?”

“that’s boring. guess they weren’t too good at it, then?” she asked, mumbling a quick thank you before taking the coke. “nothing. i had kind of a boring day, honestly.”

“that’s a real shiner y’got there, kid,” henry raised an eyebrow. “i’d hate to see the kid that pissed you off.” she wandered over to the freezer and slid an ice pack across the counter to her step-sister. “just don’t let ‘em near your face next time.”

“uh, yeah. happy to report they don’t look much better.” she laughed, taking the ice pack and gently pressing it to her face. she hadn’t expected to see anyone in her family, especially her step-siblings. “rookie mistake, i know. i’m just gonna try my best to use coverup for the rest of the week so our dads don’t notice.”

shrugging back slightly,  the older woman blinked in disbelief. “not if i FORGET but, since you don’t want to tell me, you’re making it seem like a lot more than nothing.”

“forget? sounds likely.” she scoffed, “or maybe i just don’t wanna tell someone i barely know. ever think about that?”

“It may not be how it works but you could at least, hm I don’t know- try? I don’t know about you but I know I want to see my dad happy, and us fighting isn’t gunna make that happen.” Bradley rolled his eyes. He had been trying his best to get along with his new siblings but his patience was close to none. 

“this is me trying, ASSHOLE. get used to it.” she clenched her fists, staring at her stepbrother. “of course i want to see my dad happy, and he is. you gonna go crying to them that we aren’t getting along or something? because i’m pretty sure they think this whole family this is working out great.”

kori took her hands off the girl promptly when she asked. sighing she looked at the fiery red with her own icy blue eyes. “whatever you say.” she muttered. “calm down, you don’t have to turn your bitch mode on.”

“sorry.” she mumbled, MAYBE she was being a little too aggressive. “just, yanno, hurts when you touch it.”

“oh stop crying.” cartel rolled his eyes as he moved the wound around, examining it sort of. “shut up, you’re not going to give me shit.” he spat back. “m’just looking at it, i don’t give a shit where it came from.” his attitude just as bad as hers. “just thought you should at least have it looked at to see if you need fucking stitches, which lucky you, you don’t.”

she flinched away from his touch, his moving it around only hurting her more. “if i wanted to have it looked at to see if i needed stitches, i’d go to the hospital not you.” she rolled her eyes, “plus, i already knew i didn’t need stitches. so thanks for pointing out the obvious.” she crossed her arms in front of her chest. she could’ve just said thank you and walked away, but fighting back was more fun.

nala squinted at the wound, taking her hands off of it by request. “okay, i get it. it’s nothing.” she huffed, pulling out her first aid kit. “but would you at least let me clean it up for you? i promise i won’t ask any questions about it, i just want to make sure it doesn’t get infected.” nala whipped her head around at the threat. “hey, could you not threaten me when i’m just trying to HELP?”

the redhead stared at the first aid kit, weighing her options. “alright, i’m SORRY. okay?” she avoided the other girl's eyes, she wasn’t good with apologies. “fine, you can clean it. but if you tell anyone about this, i’m gonna be seriously PISSED OFF, okay?” she asked, doing her best to avoid another threat.

      “not bad.” he chuckled once she moved her hair from her face, a clean mark not going unnoticed. “i’m sure that’ll save your ass with family. did you at least win the fight?” 

“yeah, hopefully. i don’t need them getting their noses into things.” she shrugged, “‘course i won. i’m almost offended you would even ask that.”

“some bitch today threatened to call the cops on me for vaping too close to her baby. like, what the fuck? get your baby outta where i’m standing if you have a problem with it. people here are so god damn uptight.”

“call the cops? i don’t even think the cops would’ve been able to do anything about that.”
