Later, Aang just accuses Long Feng of brainwashing his friend. Long feng is a fcking murderer, he murdered a child, but apparently conspiracy and brainwashing is his worst crime?????? Mind you, we never see Long Feng going to prison or being persecuted for his crimes INCLUDING MURDER.

Zuko and Jet have a lot of parallels going on, so when Zuko also helped the Gaang by freeing Appa and let go of his identity as the Blue Spirit, his old self 'died' in a way. He proceeded to better himself and deal with his anger and live a peaceful and happy life. While Jet just. Died. And the next time he was mentioned, his death was turned into a joke. He was 16, mind you.

He is not evil. He is not even a bad person. He was someone who genuinely wanted to help people, out of the goodness of his heart, AND HE DID. His rage against the Fire nation is justified. Should he go after fire nation civilians? No (but they are not innocents either, lets be fcking honest, why tf are they living on stolen earth kingdom land), but he deserved to grow out of that hatred and rage JUST LIKE ZUKO.

So yeah Jet's death is bad writing. It just doesn't mean anything, because it seems he didn't mean much to the writers. Their view on 'freedom fighters' is very obvious.
