Hey, Wait! Who Are You?

I’m EggsFennedict, a disabled & neurodivergent writer, artist, and member of the Furry Writer’s Guild. I was a guest panelist at FWA 2024, where I debuted my work with an informational crash course on disability ed. My experiences are unabashedly neurodivergent, disabled & queer. And as an adult in fandom spaces, I find it my responsibility to help carve out spaces for people like me.

What is Furodiversity?

Furodiversity is a merchandise/education hybrid passion project, where I use funky little mascots to help promote mental health & physical wellness. During my time in fandom (especially furry), I noticed a drastic lack of media representation & pride for disabilities. As such, I’m in the works of creating various merchandise with the help of ACGGoods & Vograce, and hope that my activism brings joy to the community!

Who is Furodiversity For?

Well… Pretty much everyone! Disabled people, friends & family of disabled people, folks who are trying to learn more about disabilities, folks who just happen to like the characters, etc! This is an inclusive project and a safe space for people to learn. And if you’re not comfy showing off those colors just yet, that’s fine! We’ve got queer pride & fandom stuff as well.

Will You Be Adding More Products/Mascots?

Yes, of course! The current mascots are only Wave One, with several others planned in the future. All designs will be peer-checked by people who have the given conditions to avoid stereotyping, and provide as realistic of representation as I can within the anthropomorphic scale.

*My Booth (5089) & Dealer’s Den World

After months of planning, it’s finally paid off. I couldn’t be happier with my first vending experience. Come visit my booth in the Dealer’s Den and enjoy the convention!

Looking for some disability pride pins? Furodiversity: Pin Palooza is officially up on BackerKit! This event runs from now to May 14th, with a good number of unlocks to choose from!

The Backerkit pin campaign is finally up for preview & early pledging! I’ll add in another announcement once it’s finally up and running too.

If you’re interested in grabbing a fine flavor of disability-positive pins, then this is the one for you!

Oh gosh, I adore fursuits but sadly do not know anything about making them myself. I use a hoodie & custom pants/shoes combo to avoid wearing them altogether myself as my sensory issues don’t allow full suiting (I could potentially do “poodling,” but bodysuit is def a no. I don’t know if this is something that makers still permit, but I’ve been to some cons where I can temp try on a suit head/paws etc or two to get the general feel of the weight of them. Some things from my limited knowledge to consider:

- Foam, 3D Print or Resin casted head all feel different.

- Suits do tend to be constricting, but I do know of some examples (Ex: mouth-open or “unhingable jaw” heads) which give some more breathing room

- Check about some form of low-seamed paws/feetpaws!

I’ve got a lot of great news and a lot of projects unveiled, so I’m going to go ahead and rapid fire it!

I Was Selected To Vend @ Furality Ultra!

Furality is a convention set in VRChat’s free-to-play (no headset needed) platform, where the entire con is set through virtual reality. While the con itself is roughly $35 a pop, you can either apply to waive fees or visit the virtual booth world for free! I’ll be sure to add more information and the world link come sometime in May. This is a HUGE honor and my first time being a vendor, so I’m super stoked!

Artists across the neurodivergent spectrum have delivered a plethora of Pride goodies! Featuring a handful of physical disability bonuses, we hope to remind you that we’re here and deserve to be celebrated with a toast to the disabled movement. (Note: Stock is sorted by category! Backerkit Pin Hype Page - Preview Here!

I am also hosting a BacketKit project as part of the overarching collab “beasts and botanicals!” This project highlights biodiversity, with an additional twist of neurodiversity in my own campaign. Pins are hoping to be backed in a progressive state, with small printed metals as the “funded” goal’s reach and further stretch goals of both soft and hard enamel variants (if funding is successful for those). Be sure to check the hype page and tune in for more news!

I was going to wait to make this all pretty, but I’m honestly so flabbergasted that this is going up as-is.

I’m officially on the roster for Furality Ultra! Expect the little mascots to get a shiny new coat of paint with some video game gimmicks to celebrate. If anyone has any suggestions as well, be it on vending or thematics, feel free to suggest them! I’m so psyched to be representing psych in disability wellness & advocacy through my craft <3
