I'm Not A Lab Rat

Echo was kind of surprised that the girl didn’t grow with excitement at the thought of dinosaurs coming back into the world, normally something like that would get someone’s heart racing, with enough excitement to run around screaming until they saw one face to face.

Charlie nodded slowly and gave a small shrug. She knew that it was fair enough if someone had actually been through that, but since her time being kept in a lab like a rat, she hated all that sort of thing. 

“I can say the same for me too but there is no real harm in trying” 

Echo searched the other side of the room to redhead so the lot of them could cover more ground and get the job done quicker. She did have a keen sense o of smell at times which would often make something like this find a lot easier but today, surrounded by many other chemicals, it wasn’t proving to be of much help.

Charlie turned the tube over in her hand and looked back over to Echo with a small eyebrow raise. She still wasn’t sure what exactly it was and she hoped that whatever it was that it wasn’t dangerous. She gave a small nod when she was told what it was and put it down on the table. 

Echo didn’t really know how to answer the question as she had no idea where the egg could be, she just knew that she dropped it, perhaps broke it if worst comes to worst and that she needed to find it quickly before her dad proceeded to kill her in her sleep.

“Well, I can try to help you. I’ll have a look around and see if I can find anything, but I can’t make any promises that I will find it.”

Charlie backed away and let her eyes scan the room, looking for anything that might resemble an egg or anything that might be of use to Echo. She sighed a little, running a finger through her hair and kept looking around, before finding something and picking it up. 

Echo finally found someone who felt the exact same than she did about labs and needles and practically everything. Ever since she had become ‘human’ or whatever she was now it had been a struggle to even hold a test-tube and this situation didn’t prove any different. Her clumsiness not helping either.

Charlie nodded slowly. An egg she could look for. That could be easy enough and hopefully she could find it quickly and then not have to be anywhere for too long. She just wanted to get it over and done with and not find anything else. Just the egg.
