If you translate all of lottie’s french during the seance she tells a whole story from the dead cabin guy’s perspective about not being able to feed “it” enough

Lottie is schizophrenic, but that just makes her veil to the spirit thinner. There are things happening in the show that JUST the audience can see and not the MCs (like jackies hallusination when she died).

I’m also just very very skeptical and cautious about anything that implies that people with schizo effective disorders are somehow more spiritually connected and able to “access the spirit realm” better. It’s a long standing trope, but an ableist and dangerous one because it feeds into people’s delusions. One of the first and most common signs of someone slipping/derailing/struggling with a serious illness is spiritual psychosis. It’s such a common symptom that irl, religious institutions like the Catholic church, when assessing people for exorcism now, they have to go thru their medical and mental health history first and the most common answer priests give people now is “go see a psychiatrist”

Just about everything that’s happened in the show so far actually has some logical explanation. It’s lord of the flies type of stuff. Even the bear and the birds and most recently the screaming trees and Tai’s hallucinations. I’m a hiking queer from a line of outdoorsmen and country folk. Weird shit happens in the woods, I’ve seen and experienced weird shit, but it’s not paranormal
