One difference that I actually find very funny between The Forest and Sons of The Forest is that in The Forest you need a certain level of insanity to be able to start using the bodies of cannibals to make totems and more complex decorations.
Whereas in Sons of the Forest on day one you can put a stick and plant a head there, no insanity level, no need to get specific materials for it to work or not
It amuses me because it implies that while Eric LeBlanc has to reach a breaking point in his sanity to consider using bodies to make constructions, Jack Holt does it because he feels like it without any remorse. Sure, it's a whole passive defense mechanism against cannibals who approach the camp, but are you telling me that Jack woke up one day and said, "I'm going to impale the heads of my enemies to show them who's boss"?
And also sure, I know it has more to do with the building mechanics in The Forest being more rigid; you can't just put a stick in the ground and hang limbs on it. My point has more to do with the whole insanity mechanic and how it seems like Jack Holt just arrived on the island already being fucked up while Eric had to think about it a bit before reaching that point xd
Sons of The Forest is such a cozy game when it's just you and Kelvin and absolutely no enemies. Just me and my malewife, building fences, eating berries, staring up the river like neurotic deer in existential fear of the cannibal camp I only seen once not even a day in.. Beautiful, splendid even.
if u laugh u get sent to site 2
hiw could you say no to this face
π« Fun Fact! π« Using your repair tool, you can gently and harmlessly nudge your Kelvin into a less challenging area if he gets stuck.

can anyone hear me
please can we clean the blood off him π₯Ί
see the real tragedy of gale dekarios is that the only thing stronger than his naturally compassionate nature is his desire for power, which naturally is a result of the grooming he experienced from mystra, and you can see the way that he views magical power in both his past and present as a symbol of status and how he seeks it out as a way to equalize himself with mystra who he practically revolves around, not only because magical talent has defined his worth his entire life but also since he was treated as a subordinate even during his romantic relationship with her- put your clothes back on im not done talking
he has to learn the hard way

One of my favorite things about BG3 is how many of the core companions/playable characters have backgrounds as -- essentially -- one of the mook npcs you might have to kill in another story. Every one of them was made to have their tragic backstory revealed in a note you loot from their corpse after hitting them with a fireball.
Shadowheart is a servant of an evil goddess. Her cult spends its time spreading darkness and misery. The only thing that separates her from the Sharrans you can kill at their temple is that she's the one who was sent on the mission to get the Astral Prism.
Lae'zel is a Githyanki warrior, bred for battle. As with Shadowheart, the only reason she's your companion instead of an npc that you kill and loot at the Temple of Lathander is that she's the one who got tadpoled and survived.
Karlach is Zariel's champion with an engine for a heart. She even says she's the best at it. How many times has she been the mini-boss some adventurer failed to defeat, in their quest in the Hells?
Astarion is the spawn of a vampire lord. How many times, in all those years, have adventurers broken into Cazador's mansion, and his spawn have been compelled to fight them? In another universe, the Mindflayers grab Dalyria instead, and its Astarion you have to fight to defend her.
Wyll sees himself as a hero, but we find out that Mizora has been manipulating him into hunting targets who might have been innocent victims the whole time. He even starts as just another bounty hunter in Karlach's story. How many times has he been the monstrous stalker to someone who crossed the Hells?
Gale is a wizard who dabbled in forbidden power and became something dark and dangerous. In another game, there would be a mission where you'd have to raid his tower and stop him from potentially ending humanity by messing with the Karsite Weave.
I just kinda love this, and I love how the game brought all these characters together and basically said: look how in the right circumstances, anyone can be a hero.
Exactly this! Anyone can be a hero, or a dead body on the side of the road to Baldur's Gate π©
β¦do you think, during his year of isolation, that Tara ever sat on Gale's chest while he was asleep and purred to try to heal the orb because it's like an ingrained biological cat type behaviour?
Had a patreon request for Gale cuddling Tara, so I had to make it angsty with this post in mind.
She's making biscuits on his chest ππ
I need a whole fanfic around this *looks at computer* ready for another adventure, old friend?
Beautiful π₯Ή
