Konoha School Tales (Part 3)
Itachi was in charge of the dinner, which meant he became a dictator that exploited his little brother. "It's just water, you will be fine". Sending him out into a torrential rain for a carton of eggs was pretty cruel. "And stop pouting~".
He hated rainβspecially the fact that he might run into a certain someone. Tall, blonde, blue eyes, handsome. It could be anyone.
And he was right, because he passed by the path near the lake and there was a crowd playing football. The devil and his friends. Sasuke was good at most sports because he used to play a lot with his brother when he was younger. But he never got the chance (or wanted) to play with his classmates.
There he wasβwet shirt, covered on mud, messy hair. It was almost illegal to watch Naruto playing football.
It probably was, since all of them turned around after he and Naruto locked eyes. His feet moved on their own and never look back.
"Wanna join us? Choji is about to leave and we will need one more. You know?"
"No" He corrected himself "I mean, thanks but muy brother is waiting for me." Sasuke felt like a lamb surrounded by wolfs.
"Maybe other day... we can hang out"
Sasuke was one of the top students in the class, always fighting for a spot with Shikamaru. But he became incredibly stupid and completely incapable of forming sentences whenever he talked to the blonde.
"That's awesome. We've always thought you hated everyone" he smaked Sasuke's left arm "But I know there's a cool guy hiding behind that pretty arrogant face"
"See you" said Naruto, not knowing he had left a stunned Sasuke standing in the rain. Sasuke didn't even realize when he dropped his umbrella.
"We should probably start eating. Mom and Dad won't be back anytime soon," said Itachi before he began to eat. Then he noticed that his little brother seemed off. "Hey..."
"Big brother, have you ever... liked, uhm... loved anyone?"
"Of course, I love our family"
"No, you know what I mean" he pouted.
"I'm messing with you" he laughed harder this time after Sasuke stared at him. "I do love someone. You know her, it's Izumi".
"That makes sense, she likes you back... so, how did you confess?"
"Well, I haven't" he shrugged "You know Dad: 'No girls before college'" he mimicked Fugaku's angry tone with surprising accuracy.
"In that case, I won't disappoint him"
"I... I like boys. Well, not all of them just one..." he didn't have the courage to look at his big brother.
"And that's why you're all upset?" he poked Sasuke's forehead "I'll always love you, silly".
"Kinda" Sasuke felt relief after hearing Itachi's words
"It actually hurts that you think i wouldn't support you. Am i that scary? I can't be dad..."
"No. I just- I thought you wouldn't approve it, Ugh. Do you think Dad will kick me out of the house?"
"Probably, but I'll move out with you so don't worry about that" he replied seriously before eating a big chunk of pork. "And ypu are crazy if you think i would judge you having a boyfriend".
"He is not my- I assure you he doesn't even like me in that way"
"Oh... Uzumaki?" Sasuke nodded "He is... nice. I mean, he is the Hokage's son and he gets along with Mom. You have my blessing"
"Have you even heard a word of what I said!? " Itachi look at his frustrated little brother "He doesn't like me, he barely talks to me . I-Every time he does, I became this dumb defensive version of myself..." he wanted to cry.
"He always asks Mom or me about you. Our families have been friends forever, and you know that" Itachi chose his words carefully. "Usually, you are the one who runs away and now I know why" he smiled. "But..."
"Yeah, he always says you are cool and that's why many girls are behind your annoying ass" Sasuke pouted "His words, not mine".
"He has this thing for praising me and insulting me at the same time". He buffed
"When you sent me for eggs an hour ago, we talked and he said that behind my 'pretty arrogant face' i seemed cool"
"That was basically a love confession..."
"No it wasn't, he always messes with me like that"
"Then why are you blushing? You already have his attention and you clearly enjoy it"
"All I'm saying is, you should face your fears and ask him out"
"It's not that simple... he likes girls. And also a girl from our class likes him too"
"Then you should hurry before she wins. And stop making up excuses. If he doesn't like you back-first, I'll be shocked, and second, it's his loss. But at least you'll feel relieved. You don't even know if he only likes girls."
"Promise to kick his ass if he reject me..." Sasuke whispered.
