This portrait was driving me mad, but it's finished now. Dana Scully, but more bisexual <3
Sycamore leaf studies. I love the precision and control of using the pencil, but it's not as fun, quick and vibrant as the sharpie/ highlighter version.
This is from a while ago. I was putting together a colour palette for an imaginary future house, and when I told my friend of this, she thought I meant house MD. Hence, this high-effort shitpost of Hugh Laurie, with a limited colour palette. I was proud 'cause this only took me about a half hour.
Killer whale appreciation post <3

My last post was the shitpost version of this idea. Agender crab rave, evolved beyond the need for gender, only need to rave
One day humanity will evolve beyond our need for gender constructs, we will be strong, we will have exoskeletons and lack sexual dimorphism. We will be agender homo-crustatea (non-shitpost version of this idea is in my queue)
This is another early painting with my graphics tablet. No. 3 I believe. This is of my ex's cat, Crusher. He fit so he sit, whether or not you need to wash your hands after using the toilet. I can't be mad at him though :( I liked exploring the reflectivity, and like how clean this looks, but still soft.
My bestie was complaining about how she wanted to wear dangly earrings, but all the ones she had were too heavy. I grabbed some embroidery thread and made these for her birthday :D
My first commission, technically. Painted my friends' parrot in exchange for a bottle of Southern Comfort. I'm happy with how the boy turned out (his name is Alex btw) but the feet were a nightmare for no good reason. I wish I'd done something else with the background I think. I had a whole idea of taking commissions to do pet portraits (petraits) and made an Instagram account and everything, then, in a very neurotypical way, just completely lost steam for the idea.

This was an exercise in creating texture without zooming in. It was fun, quick and effective, and I love this little guy! Look at his hat! He's ginger, literally my kin.
This piece went through a very extreme evolution, but I like how it turned out. My style is loose and colourful, and this tight-cropped portrait of my boyfriend's semi-dyed semi-bleached hair was just asking for some stupid unnecessary but whimsical colour additions. Originally I'd planned to turn this 90 degrees and have his hair turn into a waterfall, but that composition felt inorganic, forced. The chaotic swirling of his hair reminded me of water, and I like to think I still kept a sense of that idea in the painting, but less on-the-nose.
My hometown is built out of a forest, home to a park that I've visited many times, throughout my childhood, adolescence and now as an adult. On one visit, I noticed a type of duck I'd never seen before, a mandarin duck. Not knowing its name, I described it as a 'drag queen duck' to Google... that didn't lead me to the information I wanted, but it's still what I want to call these guys to this day. Her eyeliner is fierce, she is an icon and I love her <3 ref: https://pixabay.com/photos/mandarin-duck-duck-bird-waterfowl-6838223/
A page in my sketchbook. I was going through a witchy phase. I love rocks and still think this is aesthetic. Mix of watercolour and black gouache, and I loved using the bottle caps as mini wells for paint mixing.
First doodle using my graphics tablet, so I was still getting the hang of it. I adore foxes, and love how soft and dreamy this came out, even if I think it could still be a lot better.

Got the trains to Manchester and back the other week to get my top surgery dressings taken off. This involved a 40 minute wait at Derby station, so I did some life drawing (top). The lower one was from my imagination, as it was hard to find anything to draw live from the train, but I still like how it came out. It looks wrong to have a night scene without a dark sky, maybe I'll come back to this concept at some point.
This is the second painting I did with my Graphics Tablet. This was probably on boxing day, I was sick with covid, but I could not get this image out of my head, and I had to paint it for my mental wellbeing. I still love this to this day.
