𝐟𝐮𝐥𝐥 𝐜𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠.

          swallows thickly when those words hit him particularly hard because he knows that fumikage’s right ( has always been right , no matter what the situation ) / the green - haired boy wrinkles his nose and rubs at it , head turning away , viridian hues averting from the other’s piercing gaze. “ i - i know – , ” scarred hand comes up to rub at his arm ; he’s unable to respond intelligently to his classmate’s words because again , he knows , but it’s not how he’s meant to work.           “ but i – ” a sigh , defeated. “ everyone else’s feelings of happiness are more important to me , y - y ‘ know ?? if i can protect you guys , and if i have the ability to do so , then … i’d rather do that first. ”

          must’ve been obvious to his mentor that he’s staring at his scarred palms with a slight distaste in his gaze , the usual shine in them dead and gone ( he could’ve acted sooner , could’ve controlled it better , he could’ve done everything in his power to prevent it from spiraling out of control during the spar / but he couldn’t ; he’s weak , he’s not ready yet , he’s just back to square one ). the gruff tone snaps him out of his daze and though they feel heavy with exhaustion and dark thoughts , his eyes drift upwards to look into the concerned yet hallowed gaze of the elder’s. those words pierce through his deflating heart but it makes him feel like he’s sinking into the earth / deeper and deeper still.           “ but i – ” swallows thickly , tears threatening to burst through , his voice thick with emotion / all might staring him with such worry and concern only making the tears want to spill past even more. “ i c - could’ve controlled it – i almost hurt everyone around me because i was – ” voice cuts off , choked now. he was weak , and even with all the training he had powered through , he still couldn’t keep it under control.           now , he feels the heated tears slide down his freckled cheeks , back hunching as he practically trembles / memories and visions of the blackness that spurted through his palms in place of the emerald - colored electricity vivid behind shut lids. he remembers how much it had hurt for him to be there ( to be alive , to be hoisted in mid - air with this unknown power surging within him ) , remembers how ochako had held onto his body to get him to stop but it was impossible , it was foreign to his own body / it was breaking him down from the inside , bit by bit , tearing through his vessle.           izuku inhales , exhales soon after ; rubs at the hot tears with the back of his trembling hands. no , all might’s right. i should – i should just breathe. “ s - sorry , all might, ” he mumbles , keeping his sullen gaze on his knees. “ you’re right. ”

            he’s stiffening when the other leans in closer to his body , their heights only inches off but still close to one another. the once quirkless boy feels his body heat up in immense embarrassment , the line of his mouth wriggly , sweatdrops sliding down the curves of his round visage. “ t - t … t - tokoyami - kun ?? ” it’s highly unnatural for his friend to get this close to him / is clear to izuku that his walls seem to crumble insanely fast what with the touchy behavior. perhaps , though , the green - haired boy thinks that it could be from a restless night ( it still has his cheeks heating up and his fingers twitching , his heart racing loud enough for the other to hear ).

FRUSTRATION:

‘ o, atlas ! ’  ;  we cried out, hands outstretched, bloodied with our own efforts, tears streaking down our dirtied visages. ‘ o, atlas ! don’t give up -- you have so much more than this ! ’ but my dear, atlas, the world had become much too heavy for your weakening form / you were ready to pass it on to someone who once had the same brightened features as you. you felt like the golden boy ( burnt out to the core, you tried your best ), icarus, sunkissed by apollo / tips of his feathers burning until he had nothing left / so, he fell & he fell & he fell, though regret was invisible to the naked eye, it was rooted deep in his heart ! 

atlas  ;  maybe when you were younger, you would’ve taken caution in your hand, embraced her with all you have instead of push her away. no, when you were younger, if you had time -- 

                            hush now, atlas, it’s much too late. your time has come / let us go.

                              “ i talked to dad today, ” corners of his lips curl up although the smile doesn’t quite reach the shine of his eyes. “ not .  . . in person but. you know. i saw him when i slept. ” line of his mouth wavers, fingers curling into his palm as he sucks in a deep breath, shaky. zeus looks down at him with sympathy, pity / poseidon rocks the waves of his heart gently / apollo sings a bittersweet song for him, the sound of the harp echoing within the emptiness he felt. “ i couldn’t see his face -- ” the boy breaks off, hiccups audible, phone loose in his grip. boy chosen by the gods, let your tears stream, let your hurt sink into the ground / root it deeply, let persephone rise flowers from it. let it raise you. he shakes, falls to the ground, knees bent as rain hit the back of his head. 

                              classes had ended earlier than usual, the students dispersing once teachers had put down the marker and papers, dismissing them all. across yuuei’s campus, one could see the mingling of various students of different years, talking amongst themselves and enjoying the winter chill. izuku, however, had been on his way to the dorms to work on his homework, a hum on his lips and a bounce in his step / the boy was in a rather good mood, the chilly season and the sight of snow would never fail to put him in the bestest of moods. without really noticing the presence behind him, he trekked onwards until he stopped, the fingers gentle on his shoulder catching his attention. spun on his heel, not sure who he was expecting, but he definitely wasn’t expecting him. 

                              “wh – h - h - ha - hawks! the - the number three – no, n - number two pro-hero in the ranks!” his jaw had practically dropped when he took in the pro-hero in the flesh / knew fumikage had interned under the hero and found it amazing he got the chance to do so but never in his life did izuku expect to be face-to-face with the hero himself! ‘tis the season for a number of firsts, he figured. oh, my god - he looks so much cooler in person, oh man! look at those wings! that’s hawks – i mean, duh, it’s hawks … who else could it be? look at his hair and his outfit – wow, he’s so cool-looking, i can’t believe hawks is actually talking to me?! wait - what did he just say? 

                              he wants to get to the dorms? i’m going there right now – oh, no, does that mean i’m going to be walking with hawks? the hawks? the student fidgeted for a bit, sweating despite the chill that hugged him tightly. he cleared his throat and managed a nod, letting out a strained laugh. “u - um! i can show you – the way! i - i’m headed there r - right now!” of course, the hero wanted to say hi to fumikage but that didn’t kill the anticipation and excitement izuku felt upon being near such a hero. the boy knew nearly everything about hawks’ quirk and watched his battles closely. 

                             “th - then hayashi-san is the christmas tree !!!!”
