Pretty decent suggestion here from reddit’s user u/vegasrandall on what to do with junk mail... “Embrace the suck! My friend in the mountains near vegas heats his cabin with junk mail...”

They told me I’m “not allowed” to return junk mail but the good people at ecocycle.org figured it out:

No honestly. Let’s talk about the USPS. I’ve been running this silly little tracker blog offending mail senders for years now and guess what... the United States Post Office has caught on to it. 

Not shocking, the USPS are in on it. Like a fucking group of ultimate goons, the USPS are the ring leader of sending you garbage you don’t want or need.

And maybe this proves how fucking worthless they’ve become that they need to beat your ass to death by basically stealing your identity to send you over 1,000 pieces of mail you don’t need. Or want. 

This all started a month ago when my asshole mailperson wrote me a nasty note - with a pile of my “return-to-sender” mail being returned to me. The note said I am NOT ALLOWED to reject junk mail.

Let that sink in. 

A US Government Agency is telling me I am NOT ALLOWED to control what I receive in my own mailbox. 

A US Government Agency is telling me I am NOT ALLOWED to control how my identity is used. They are, in fact, supporting the mismanagement of my identity. Of my mailbox.

I didn’t take the “NOT ALLOWED” message nicely. I write them and demanded to see the policy in writing. They ignored me. I reported them to their own OIG. They finally called me back and I had a nice conversation with a clueless lady who couldn’t provide me anything in writing but told me the USPS doesn’t have to do what you ask it to do... 

Taxation without representation. 

So that’s the word from the junk mail front but not the end. I’m still going to send this trash back. I’m still going to look for anti-junk mail groups to join. I’m still going to ask for shit in writing. Because fuck these people. And fuck people in marketing. 

Seriously. Fuck people in marketing. Most useless job ever. 

I told the USPS lady the company’s who spam me lay off massive amounts of workers all the time but can afford to send 20,000,000 pieces of shit mail no one wants? How does this make any sense? She was quiet to that. Probably because she realized how absolutely worthless her job was.
