CREED’s Scott Stapp May Be Forced Into Psychiatric Hold After Skipping Court Appearance

Stapp skipping court appearances is not helping his case.

For those that don’t know, Creed’s Scott Stapp has been publishing various YouTube videos claiming his label and wife have been taking money from him, and even asked fans to crowdfund 480,000 dollars for his next album and book. This time things appear to be much worse. TMZ has now released a 911 call in which Jaclyn and Scott’s sister-in-law claim he’s riding around on a bike without a shirt and thinks he’s a CIA agent who’s “supposed to assassinate Obama.” They go on to say that Scott thinks he’s being trained by the CIA and is carrying around a backpack with “tools” and “CIA documents.” They also point out his history of paranoia and schizophrenia. My interview with Creed’s Scott Stapp.

A lot of music writers would be repelled by talking to this man, but I embraced the idea and sought him out to talk. I hope that the farther along I get in this music writing thing (it’s been six years) I will find things like this to challenge me. His band’s weirdness and earnestness is no more frustrating than the indie bands that get shoved down our throats daily in 2012. At least Stapp believes in what he is doing and respects his audience. I would rather talk to a man who has been reviled for a decade than a flash in the pan indie-rock group that I won’t remember in five years.

Well, you see some people aren’t assholes who hate on another HUMAN BEING because it’s the “popular” thing to do (“popular” my ass. Check Creed’s record sales and enormous fan base who have nothing but love and forgiveness for this man) AND have the cheek to dedicate a blog to it (one Scott will probably never read). Scott is a super kind person who made some bad decisions in the PAST (over 5 years ago, thank you very much). It’s people like you who insist on being hateful toward this man who cares about his family, friends, and fans very much.

Scott Stapp is a GOOD PERSON and whatever you type on the internet will not break him down because he’s strong - and he gives his fans strength through his GOOD MUSIC. Yes, Creed is GOOD. I LOVE Creed. It is made up of some of the most genuine and talented folks in the music industry. They’re famous for a reason - they write GOOD MUSIC that speaks to people.

It seems to me you’re poking fun at Scott just for the humor of it. You know, that’s fine. But once you get a fan involved it’s not cool. I’m not personally insulted by what you typed - I believe it was done in innocent intentions. But I absolutely can’t stand when people hate on this man for NO REASON AT ALL.

If you can justify your hatred for Scott (has he personally attacked you?) then I will take back what I wrote here.

I'm just going to assume it's a bunch of butthurtness and crying.

We all have opinions. My opinion is that he's a fucking talentless loser. I don't hate cause it's the "popular" thing to do, I hate because I know good music when I hear it. Creed produces SHIT. And Chad Kroeger and him might as well be the same fucking person so there he approves of my blog cause he's a fucking tool as well.
