I am honestly so happy with how these comics are turning out and i want them to be of good quality. Also I like to think that Wheatley can regulate the intensity of his led light if he wants tho, even though I also headcanon that it shines brighter when he’s feeling something intense and such. But he can also control it if he wants to. Maybe it’s something he learned to do ever since he found out he in fact does NOT die if he shines his flashlight and so on, there’s probably some undiscovered features he didn’t get to play with until that moment hehe. Nightlight Wheatley real to me 😔🫶🏻

I was reading up on Tumblr Sexymen And I see that Wheatley from Portal 2 is considered a Tumblr Sexyman. My friend is unsure why that is. I assured him it is due to his British accent. But is not so convinced. Anyone better versed in Sexymen lore care to explain?

while yes those things contributed to how the sexyman trope was actually portrayed (it honestly was really formative for it), it was mostly bc he was kind of … potentially sexualized in game (the moaning in Ch 8)

if that had not happened then I’m sure there wouldn’t have been the level of nsfw material that there was

there were also a large amount of transformers fans that crossed over to fill kinkmeme prompts for the robots themselves

so really it was a mix of him being British, having a character arc where he starts as your friend and becomes sexily evil, his design being adorable (really helped), voiced by Steve, AND making moaning noises in the game (notice that most of these things became defining sexyman attributes after Wheatley, there is a reason for that: Wheatley)

probably also bc Portal 2 was a great, severely popular game overall and made players quite invested
