âIâm so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.â
Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery (via thepowerofthewrittenword)
My life is a perfect graveyard of buried hopes. Thatâs a sentence I read once and I say it over to comfort myself in these times that try the soul.
Anne of Green Gables (1985)
whoever you are that created this lovely blog, perhaps you forgot about it, but it has such potential! watch the movies and revive it!!

I donât know, I donât want to talk as much. Itâs nicer to think dear, pretty thoughts and keep them in oneâs heart, like treasures. I donât like to have them laughed at or wondered over.

That is the ugliest effing skirt dress Iâve ever seen.
I mean, itâs so sweet how Matthew buys it for her but itâs SO hideous.
âLook at that sea, girlsâall silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldnât enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds.â

Your blog is so fantastic! Thanks a lot for your hard work!
Anything Anne of Green Gables is so lovely that the "work" is easy :)
I'm so glad that you like it! I had to do something about the lack of Anne Shirley on tumblr for all of the kindred spirits out there.
I just wanted to say thankyou so much for a whole blog devoted to Anne Shirley. :) And I love that you include bits from the novel in addition to the movie. Thankyou!!
I've slacked a little bit with the novel quotes, but once the new year rings in I'll start them back up again!
The books are just as wonderful as the films, I can't ignore them :)

Anne: If Iâd been the boy you sent for, I could have spared you in so many ways. Matthew: I never wanted a boy. I only wanted you from the first day. Donât ever change. I love my little girl. Iâm so proud of my little girl.

DIANA: Of course you would take the long route when youâve sprained your ankle. ANNE: I wouldnât think of giving Gilbert Blythe the satisfaction of helping me! Why donât we cut through here? Itâs much shorter. DIANA: But you told me this forest was haunted. ANNE: I donât think itâs haunted in daylight. DIANA: That doesnât matter. Itâs always dark in the forest. ANNE: Donât be afraid, Diana. DIANA: What kind of ghosts would you say live in here? ANNE: Iâm not sure there are any. I only imagined it was haunted because it seemed so romantic at the time. DIANA: What is it? Did you see a ghost? ANNE: My foot caught on something. DIANA: Charlie Sloan said that his grandmother saw his grandfather driving the cows home last year. ANNE: So? DIANA: His grandfather died two years ago. ANNE: Thereâs supposed to be a white lady who walked along the riverbank by Mr. Hammondâs sawmill, wringing her hands and wailing. The men never actually saw her. DIANA: Oh, Anne, donât. ANNE: Perhaps she is now accompanied by Mr. Hammond who is looking for his lunch. No, I shouldnât have said that. He may follow me here. DIANA: Oh, Anne, Iâm scared. ANNE: So am I. Deliciously scared. Mrs. Hammond said she once felt the ghost of a murdered child creep up behind her and lay its icy fingers on her hand. DIANA: Charlieâs grandmother is a very religious woman, and I donât think she would lie.Â
