Regte Heide
The Regte Heide is a 250 hectare moor that is located near the Dutch city of Tilburg in Noord-Brabant, the Netherlands. This piece of nature contains seven beautiful burial mounds from the middle bronze age.
The burial mounds were researched by archeologists in 1935 led by professor A.E van Griffen. The mounds were opened and several artifacts were found such as flint daggers, jewelry, axes, wrist protectors (archery), buttons and beads. Bodies were found in two of the mounds and the other mounds contained remains of cremation. One of the grave gifts is quite unusual, a bronze axe of a type never seen in the southern Netherlands before. The axe was most likely produced in modern day Hungary.
The burial mounds were restored after the archeological research was finished. They are now a gorgeous site to visit.

Leiden
Welcome to Westzaan. A small village located in Zaanstad, Noord-Holland. Beside the fact that it’s relatively a small village, Westzaan is known for it’s nature and big landscape. You can find the famous Zaanse polders here, look at the beautiful small family owned farms & watch the sunset and sunrise while sailing through the polders or just while siting by your window. Even though it’s a small village it’s really well accessible because of its many cycle paths & busstops. It’s also only 10 minutes away from the center of Zaandam and its train station.
Also characteristic for Westzaan are the houses. You either live in a authentic Amsterdam/zaanse architecture house or in a big single standing family house with a garden located at the polders. This is possible because even tho Westzaan is small, theres a lot of flat natural areas. You basically hear the birds from the farm and the lowlands chirping all day long. Westzaan is a protected village because of its nature & it’s different churches which date back to the 18th century.
In Westzaan it doesn’t matter where you are! Everywhere you look you either have a view on the lowlands & the small farms, a view on the authentic Dutch architecture styled houses or a view at the polders. Westzaan is also located only 20 minutes away from Amsterdam! So why waste so many money on a single studio apartment in Amsterdam when you can have all the space & nature in Westzaan?
It’s basically a fairytale!
