Queer writer Leah Williams who’s currently writing X-trimists for the Age of X event, a story that uses both Northstar and Icenman and is giving some serious overdue  depth to the Blob is writing a Venom back up story  for Marvel Presents.

Now Leah herself is lgtb and hellbent to cause as much ruckus with her inclusion as possible so I don’t think this is queerbait.

This is a great chance for us to show Marvel what we really want in a Venom story and give the proverbial finger to certain straight dude cis writers tearing Venom’s history apart.

Now we don’t have many details and the M/M thing kinda worries me cause symbi is non binary but it could be referring solely to Eddie and besides it can;t be worse than the one who shall not be named..

So I’m planning on checking this out hopefully so will you.

I haven’t picked a Spidey or a Spidey related book since OMD, really then I dropped Marvel after the-no-homo Herc fiasco (I’m gay and greek they can choke on that bi-erasure) but cause of the movie I picked up Costas’ Venom run on trades and let me just tell you babies as an outsider no matter what they say it’s not you it’s .HIM

I’ve watched your tweets and posts and yes some dumb asses sent death threats and that’s never ok but I have two brain cells and paid more than a minutes attention and I know WHY you’re angry and it’s not just shipping.

You’re angry about vague queerphobic interviews he gave, you’re angry about the fridging of women in a meta level, you’re angry about years of character development going down the drain, you’re angry about new readers coming in at the height of Venom’s popularity and having to read this backtracked version of the character you love and hating them, you’re angry about years of beloved creators’ work being crapped, on, you’re angry about forced heterochromativity, you’re angry about a cancer survivor’s story being retconed as a fake,and you’re angry that instead of the actual regular supporting cast you gotta deal with characters that have nothing to do with the Venom or some brand new creator’s pets.that came from literally nowhere.

And yes on top of all that you’re angry about the shipping. Biog fucking deal of course you are cause Costa pretty much evolved them to a stable relationship after goddamn years of getting your chains yanked.

So let me fucking tell you. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO BE ANGRY AND SAD YOU ARE VALID. Cates using the shipping community even the numbskull who go for death threats to demonize you all is shitty on the other hand..

Watch the Venom Movie read the Costa run I hope the War of The Realms not written by him treat you better you’lll get throught this.

It’s Bendis. Bendis. His dialogue is YMMV alone, he outed Iceman by telepath, broke up Sera and Angela, stigmatized Wanda Maximoff a romani woman and had her perform the equivalent of fictionalized genocide, killed Echo, killed War Machine, killed Black Goliath, killed Miles’ mom (yeah I know he reset that but come on it’s still the fridge) couldn’t follow his own damn continuity between his self-contained Ultimate Spidey era, damaged Carol Danvers agency in CWII and even his current Supes books riled people up cause the first thing he did was put Lois and Jon on a bus and destroy Kandor as a shock tactic. And these are from the top of my head.

And I am die hard Young Justice fan with TimKon being an otp and baby Bart being a beloved fave.

But the damage this man is bringing with him on the table...I can’t even use the word potential here. For me it’s a done deal based on his track record alone.

I get the excitement I do. But they were so so so many talented people who could be writing this instead (Taylor, Bennet, Priest literally anyone else)  and the only thing I can see is the long term damage these characters will suffer and the drop of sales excuse to shove them back in limbo.

Chiaki Kon getting her sweet time to do the Dream arc movies cause she was busy last year when she couldn’t get NQS hair color right, overfilled S3 with stock footage that screwed the action pacing and 90s shoutouts, skipped the scene with the Outers leaving on helicopters while the Inners rush to their apartments so she can have Usagi dancing with maracas, took her visual cues from an entire different franchise amped the moe up, had Michiru introduced by breasts first and who’s season did worse in BD sales PISSES ME OFF TO NO FUCKING END!

Toei should have simply replaced her with somebody who actually prioritizes the source. Not only are the movies are gonna be late they’ll be another mixed bag.
