Idk if this makes any sense, but your illustrations have so much depth, and they're such eye candyãŊ(´ãģ`)ã
What do you do to practice/warm up? What's your process like?
I ask as a fellow artist who wishes to create dynamic pieces like you
Thank you for your time if you answer this!
(*´âīŊ)īž
ahh thank you!! T_T <3
for warm ups i honestly... don't do a lot... OTL but i try to do photo studies with pictures i've taken myself, i think it helps a lot to find interesting compositions in mundane scenes of life! film studies are also helpful if you want to figure out how to make an image read as quickly as possible. if you want to include characters in your pieces, doing gesture drawings (1 min to 5 min quick drawings) helps a ton! i don't do a lot of dedicated anatomy studies although i probably should... but i mainly focus on the readability of the figure and shape language!
as for my process i usually have an idea i start thumbnailing for -> gather reference -> sketch -> color roughs -> lineart -> blockout colors -> render! it's a back and forth with these stages sometimes but for the most part that's how it goes
i hope this helps!! thank you for the ask!
youâre such a good artist!! what are some of your biggest influences?
aw im flattered... thank you..! in terms of artistic inspiration i think the biggest ones are scott watanabe, aymeric kevin and tadahiro uesugi but there are a lot more people who influence my work as well... (a lot of them work in entertainment design as visdev artists for film!) i love the work of american illustrators in the 1800s-1900s but my art does not really emulate that style LOL
afterschool
your art is so awsome !!!!!!!!! i swear i recognise your style from trigun art i saw once but idk >.<
ahh thank you!! that was definitely not me.... I've never drawn trigun u_u I want to watch it though!

hi! I noticed that you draw scenic stuff a lot and like backgrounds and stores just everyday life. Was there anything at any point in your life that really inspired you and drew you in towards drawing backgrounds like that? What spoke to you? (They all look amazing btw)
thanks for the ask! i mainly moved towards drawing backgrounds when i was doing college applications and i found that they were a lot more enjoyable for me than character art haha. at that time though, i was primarily drawing from imagination + taking references from google images
there was a piece where i painted a background using only photos i took (this one), and it was of a place very specific to me and somewhere i grew up near; when it turned out that a lot of people resonated with that piece, i think i started leaning more into personal snapshots of my life and scenes i would have lived through myself (though i should start branching out now lol). my art became a sort of love letter to the places i grew up because i really hated where i was from for a long time ^^
i hope this answers your question, thank you so much!!
