Since I found a backup of my old Neighbourhood Cresston on a harddrive I've been trying to get it to run on our new laptop and figuring out how far back this save is. Unfortunately it was unplayable, so much pink soup and random crashes. But with the pink flashing fix I've finally been able to play again!
This save is from before I ever started posting, so I guess I'm starting over.
The first household in the rotation is the Miguel family. Angel and Lilian had three children (April, Magenta and Cherry) who got taken by the social worker before. Then they had another child, Edward. April and Magenta are adults now. And I've decided to move Cherry back in with her parents since they are doing much better. Angel is at the top of the Architecture career and Lilian is working in Medicine.
On Monday Lilian receives a promotion and at the end of the day both her and Angel have their birthdays and become elders.
Angel spends Tuesday home with Edward while Lilian is working and Cherry is at school.
Once everyone is home again Lilian helps Cherry with her homework while Angel takes Edward to bed.
On Wednesday morning Angel leaves for work first and Lilian tries to get another logic point before work, she ends up being late. Edward spends the day with the nanny.
Angel is at home with Edward again on Thursday. Cherry comes home from school with an A+ and interrupts Edward's bath time to celebrate with her father.
Lilianne Duncan drops by for a visit. Lilian takes home another promotion and reaches the top of the Medical career!
On Friday everyone leaves at the same time and Edward stays home with nanny Kendal.
In the evening Edward grows up to a child and gains the Supernatural Fan trait (He already had the Insane and Brave traits)
On Saturday, Angel has to work and Lilian stays home with the kids. Sunday is spent hanging out at home and fullfilling some wants.

A few weeks ago, I sent an ask to the lovely @letomills about an issue where Brazilian simmers can’t see the images properly on the Sims 2 default database. After some testing, I found a few workarounds for this problem. But fair warning: it’s pretty annoying 😅
As I mentioned to Leto, a hard reload usually works (Ctrl + Shift + F5). But not always. I also opened a support ticket with Dreamwidth, but unfortunately, they never replied. There are a few technical reasons behind this issue, but that’s a discussion for another time 😉
When you open a page from the database, you’ll probably see something like this (broken or missing thumbnails).
First, try a hard reload (Ctrl + Shift + F5).
If the hard reload doesn’t work, try this:
Press F12 to open the Developer Tools.
Go to the Network tab (or “Rede”, if your Chrome is in Portuguese 😄).
You should see a list of .png files.
If you don’t see any, just press F5 to reload the page.
Click on any of the PNG files. It really doesn’t matter which one.
Either:
copy the image URL, or
right-click it and choose “Open in new tab”.
This will open a small thumbnail image. You don’t even need to stay on that page — just go back and reload the original page.
✨ After that, the thumbnails should appear correctly. ✨
Note: You may need to do this every time you open the page. That’s why I said it can be pretty annoying, hehe 😅
If you have any question, just pop me a DM.
I'm in Europe using Edge and for me it worked by right clicking one of the missing images and choosing open image in new tab. Close the image tab again and refresh the page. I didn't have to go into the developer tools. Wouldn't have thought to try this on my own, thanks!

i love the old advent calendars and how they are a team effort! i also think that it could be a good opportunity for creators who want to host their own but don't have time to do month-long advent (like me LOL) but still want to participate in one. also i always wanted to do some kind of fun collab

they don't have to be holiday themed! they don't have to be themed at all; if you like making makeup, clothes, accessories, objects, whatever!! etc, then make that. if your signature as a creator is making lots, you could share a lot. if you always make fantasy content, make something fantasy! by the end of the month there should be something for everyone
the gifts don't have to be massive sets or multi-part. it's already november so something smaller is perfect. and a real advent calendar is just a small treat every day~
🎁 how do i sign up?
please DM me with your preferred date + some backup choices, or if you don't care the date at all, and let me know a vague idea of what you want to contribute (or if you aren't sure what it will be yet) just so i can get an idea of where to place people. that way if you already have something ready or close to ready, i can put you in the beginning of the month, or if you want to participate but won't be able to finish it til the 1st week of december, i can put you later! and i'll know when/ if i need to fill in any gaps, not place 2 similar gifts next to each other, etc
if you want to participate but aren't sure you can fully commit to a specific date, DM me anyway and you can be a stocking stuffer for the xmas day post!
🎁 how will it be posted?
i will create a publicly viewable community to host it! i think the best way for everyone to get their flowers is to post it themselves on their day with a shared banner for the event and then you can link to the community when you share your day and tag me so i can reblog it there (and here lol) and update the masterpost. then it's all viewable in one place and you still get your engagement/ the original posts can be reblogged. i will also host a backup archive at the end because tumblr. lol. HOWEVER if everyone hates this idea i am open to suggestions in the planning community. i just thought this would be the easiest utilizing tumblr and it also allows for scheduled posting.

The first family I'm playing in round 5 is the Traveller family.
On one of the first days of their rotation baby Tarek grows into an opinionated toddler!
And within a few days Trisha is pregnant again. Maybe they are trying to catch up to the other families?
Trent and Tarek become best friends and Tina continues her efforts to adopt a pet. She spends a lot of time with Max but does not get the option to adopt.
In the evening Trent teaches Tarek to walk. They both have a want to do this. And meanwhile in the basement cave, Trisha gives birth to a baby girl they name Tara.
The next night Tina finally gets a pet. Chebnar Oug ran away from the Cooke - Strongarm household and has now been adopted by the Traveller family.
Trent teaches Tarek to talk since Tarek has a want to learn.
On Sunday Trent is hit by lightning right after leaving his tent, fulfilling a want. Did he leave his tent on purpose?
And the same evening Trisha is hit by lightning as well, right after changing Tara's diaper. Now she needs to change her own pants.
By Monday morning everyone is feeling fine again and I'm moving on to the next household.

Before I start round 5 in my Test of Time challenge neighbourhood I took some family pictures!
The new Ramaswami - Cooke family. Sanjay and Sala Ramaswami and their combined sets of kids. Kherv and Torv Cooke, Abhishek Ramaswami, Nundat Cooke, toddlers Latta Cooke and Deep Ramaswami. Deep is the first child of this new couple together.
Taba and Crall Maina and their gang of kids. Abimbola, Bonolo, Farai, Bontu, Fadzai, Ime and toddler Ayodele.
The biggest family in the neighbourhood at this point: The Parviflorums. Mom Ardisia is holding Alternanthera and dad Conopholis has Silphinum in his arms. Bumelia is standing on the rock and Helictotrichor is holding his little sister Dandranthema. On the ground are toddlers Poncirus and Tiarella and child Linum. And Disporum is on the right looking up at the sky thinking is this photoshoot done yet?
The Picaso family consists of Matthew and Jessica Picaso, newborn Mondi, children Gaba and Bran and toddler Dob.
The other newly combined family! Julien Cooke married widow Tema Strongarm (now Cooke). Kids Vac and Vatzoc were born before their dad Cled Strongarm died and their little sister Egla was born to Tema and Julien.
Dog Chebnar has run away and is not in this picture but his siblings and parents are: Snobek, Mazzi, Koh, Rascal and Uuzo.
And last but not least are the Travellers who moved in for Round 4. Since Priya Ramaswami and Cled Strongarm died and their households combined with the former Cooke household a lot became empty and I thought Trisha and Trent Traveller and their child aged daughter Tina would fit in well. In round 4 baby boy Tarek was born, but they are still the smallest family in this neighbourhood.
(I retook their picture because Tarek is clipping into his mom's arm but Trisha would not make that happy face at him again so I still preferred this version despite the clipping.)
Since I lost a household because of the Ramaswami / Cooke / Strongarm households merging a new family moved into the neighbourhood. Welcome to the Traveller family! Since everyone in the neighbourhood has kids now, the Travellers seemed a good match.
Trent and Trisha start by getting the trees and plants they inherited from the Ramaswami's back in order.
Prehistoric Bella Goth walkby. I have never seen her walkby much in my previous games, but in this household and game she loves to walk by!
Tina has a want to add a pet to the household so she greets Sheba, unfortunately she does not manage to adopt the doggy before she walks off again.
Trent meets Julien Cooke who of course starts talking about cooking right away.
Tina greets Conopholis Parviflorum.
Conopholis keeps telling jokes and playing pranks on everyone, I have never seen him be this silly in his own household! He thinks he is absolutely hilarious, but Trisha does not agree and gets mad.
Tina is completely oblivious when her parents conceive a sibling for her, but walkby Christy Stratton thinks it highly inappropriate.
That night Tina bonds with her parents over dinner and fishing. She is now best friends with both of them.
The next day Conopholis walks by again and he and Trisha share the latest stoneage gossip. They become friends quickly.
Tina still wants a pet and tries to befriend Scout and Poochka without success.
Conopholis and Tina have become very good friends and share a special greeting.
Orlando Centowski gets surounded by ball games.
Taba Maina walks by again just as Tina rolls a want to become friends with her.
A storm with lots of rain and thunder starts and one of the trees catches fire, the panic lasts much longer than the actual flames. (And I spent about 15 minutes getting that name tooltip to work as a censor bar)
Taba leaves after the fire and Tina didn't become friends with her. She only has pet related wants left now. She tries to befriend doggy Tucker (his name would fit well with this family) but fails again.
Just before the end of the week, Trisha gives birth to baby Tarek. Apparantly she thinks it's a good idea to put a newborn on the ground in the rain.
Tarek gets a warm stone and fur crib and Tina spends the last afternoon of this round playing with Vac Strongarm and Gaba Picaso.
The second try at playing the Parviflorum family starts with chimes. Ardisia is pregnant again.
Tema Cooke (Strongarm) walks by and Helictotrichor greets her. She ends up talking with Ardisia until late at night, the two pregnant women really seem to like eachother.
Disporum grows up to childhood and his biggest want is to become friends with big sister Bumelia.
The next day Conopholis spots Sanjay Ramaswami walking by and runs out to greet him.
Helicto has been enjoying himself by catching bugs but it seems the bugs have decided they don't want to be caught anymore.
Apparantly Abhishek came along with his father Sanjay and he and Disporum seem to like eachother.
Helicto remembers he can make some food for himself on the hot rocks outside (toy oven). And after that all the kids will use it a lot for the rest of the round.
Silphinum and Tiarella grow up to toddlers. Silphinum is the first of the children to inherit Ardisia's blonde hair! The rest are all redheads so far.
Linum and Disporum have dinner together just after midnight on Thursday.
And in the morning Ardisia gives birth to triplets again! The boy is called Poncirus and the two girls are called Alternanthera and Dandranthema.
The next few days are spent taking care of kids and gardening, and Saturday is here. Ardisia and Conopholis now have nine children so having lunch together seems like a luxury, even if they are standing up while eating.
Sunday night Dandranthema and Alternanthera become toddlers and Poncirus turns out to be our second blonde haired toddler boy.
On Monday morning Ardisia and Conopholis try for another baby without success. Ardisia wants to have ten children so they are only one child away from reaching this goal.
The round ends in complete chaos, with six unhappy toddlers and lots of crying.
I recently installed a mod to make fires more dangerous and it really showed while I was playing the Parviflorum family! A simple cooking fire turned into a huge fire that killed everyone except the infants who stayed in their cribs. I closed without saving and removed the mod for now. Maybe I'll try it again when I have a fire department.
I've finally finished playing the Picaso's next round. Bran and Gaba are getting along well and are now friends.
Gaba had her birthday and is now a child. Her favorite thing to do is playing with big brother Bran and she gained the lucky trait.
Bran meets Bumelia Parviflorum
But right after that the whole family passes out due to heat stroke. Only mom Jessica is still on her feet.
Jessica stays awake until evening falls and passes out just as her family wakes up. It does not last long, since the sun is down now.
Jessica has a want to have another baby and that night chimes are heard from inside one of the tents....
The next day Bumelia walks by again and she and Gaba become friends.
And Agapios Sipos walks by as well. No one seems to like him much, but at least he manages to catch a fish so he's going home with some food. The Sipos family has just moved in from elsewhere and will soon be played.
The next evening Jessica finishes potty training Dob. It's a good thing she got that done before the new baby arrives.
In the last night of this round with the Picaso's, Jessica gives birth to their second son. They name him Mondi.

The Ramaswami - Cooke family welcome a new addition! Sala and Sanjay now have a son together named Deep.
Sala is the only one who can teach the toddlers and her plantsim status really helps keep her motives up so she can teach quickly. Latta learns to walk and talk with just a nap in between.
Two kids age up this week. Deep is now a toddler and Nundat is a child.
The heat is hard on all the kids this rotation but they all manage to prevent heat stroke and by the end of the week everyone is feeling a lot better already.
The fourth round with the Strongarm household starts with babies! Tema gives birth to a daughter named Egla and Koh Oug has four puppies. The female puppy gets the name Mazzi. The boys are named Chebnar, Snobek and Uuzo.
The next day Tema and Julien go on a date because Tema has a want. It ends in a dream date and Tema gets pregnant again.
Snobek and Mazzi get into a fight. Apparantly the puppies have grown up!
And here they are: Chebnar, Mazzi, Snobek and Uuzo. I Especially like how Snobek has turned out.
Julien has a want to marry Tema. I'm having an issue where the propose interaction is not showing up and I don't feel like tracking down the cause now. Just before this round I've taken time to resolve some other problems and I don't want to do it again. So I bought a hacked wedding arch and hid it in this arched rock, I really like how it turned out, with just the heart showing.
Before Julien and Tema can get married, Egla grows up to a toddler.
Snobek and Uuzo get into a fight and ghost Cled shows up for a visit, he doesn't bother anyone though.
Vac becomes master of Mazzi but before I can take a picture Vatzoc comes to give him a hug. Still a cute picture.
The lightning causes a fire on the lot. Everyone runs over in a panic, even walkby Andrea Hogan.
Right after the fire Chebnar runs away from home.
Snobek picks a fight with Koh. He keeps getting into fights with the other dogs. I think they'll need to find a different home for him in the next round.
By the end of the round Tema's pregnancy is showing. We'll see the baby next time.
I'm starting the fourth rotation in my Test of Time challenge with the Maina family and a picture of Taba and Fadzai.
A short time into the round Taba goes into labor and gives birth to a girl. They name her Ayodele.
The next morning Fadzai, Ime and Farai age up to children. This household is a lot less chaotic now that both sets of triplets are children! Unfortunately Farai ages up badly.
I'm ending my time with the Maina's with this picture of Farai napping with Abimbola playing in the background. Farai's dream of new family members being added will probably come true. Mom Taba has a wish to have 10 children.
The third round for the Parviflorum family starts with Disporum becoming a toddler and Ardisia is still pregnant.
They don't have to deal with four toddlers for long though because soon Bumelia, Helictotrichor and Linum grow up to children and things get a lot easier.
Unfortunately Ardisia's pregnancy ends in a miscarriage.
This is the first household where the parents are rolling wants to encourage their children. They are really showing that they are both high motivation sims.
Ardisia and Conopholis have a nice evening together and she becomes pregnant but it ends in miscarriage again. That didn't last long at all. Meanwhile I gave the kids an invisible toy oven over a fire so Helictotrichor can fullfill his want to gain a cooking skill point.
Conopholis and Disporum are really close and have a lot of fun together. The older kids really enjoy fishing so the household has plenty of food in the cellar fridge and Ardisia becomes pregnant yet again. Let's hope my poor simmie can give birth to a healthy baby this time.
Conopholis causes a fire while making dinner and the motive decay that follows almost causes another miscarriage for Ardisia...
But just before the end of the round she gives birth to a healthy little girl they name Tiarella.
The Maina's are next and their lot is very wet. It stays this way for most of the rotation as the rain just doesn't want to let up.
Taba and Crall don't have much time for eachother but manage to keep their relationship healthy.
With six toddlers crawling around this household is in complete chaos all the time! Only when everyone is sleeping things are quiet, but the stink remains always.
On Friday the first set of triplets (Bonolo, Bontu and Abimbola) age up to childhood.
And the rest of the round is slightly easier and calmer because the three kids can take more care of their own needs and even help out a bit. But Taba is pregnant again so there will probably be more chaos in the next round!

The new Ramaswami household continue their round. Sanjay and Sala take care of their combined household with five kids while Sala runs back and forth to the rock toilet to puke. This new pregnancy is causing a lot of nausea.
Latta is now a toddler and got some lovely long hair. Sala tries to teach the other toddlers their skill when she can.
Kherv has aged up to childhood while I wasn't looking and the glow behind him is because of two tree fires at the same time.
Later that night Kherv wants to be friends with his little sister Latta. Meanwhile Torv has also aged up and I didn't notice until he was already asleep.
Ending the round with a picture of Kherv who needs to pee, because it's cute.
The households that were involved in the partner switch have now all concluded their rotations. Next up will be the Maina family.
Back to the Strongarm lot. After being kicked out of the cave by Sala, Julien Cooke goes to his lover Tema Strongarm to see if he can stay with her. She agrees and Julien moves in.
The next day Vac and Vatzoc both grow up to children.
And the rest of the round everything seems well. Julien is starting to build a friendship with Vac and Vatzoc and the dogs like him well enough. But the kids still get very upset when he kisses their mother. They all need some time to adjust to the new situation.
