• The tumblr blog of @lottie-sims doesn't exist anymore, not sure how long it's been. They were a prolific CAS defaults creator but inactive for years I believe. If you still have defaults made by lottie-sims, it would be amazing if you could send them my way so I can reupload them to the SFS of the sims2defaults database and update the broken links.
• As you've probably heard, GOS was dead for a few weeks, and now it's back upgraded to a newer format (see technical info here). This upgrade has one consequence for the sims2defaults database: none of the links to GOS are properly dead but the digitalperversion.net links don't get automatically redirected anymore, so the older defaults that were posted on GOS are a bit trickier to access. @latmosims made a helpful redirecting browser extension for Chrome and Firefox which I would recommend. However I don't expect everyone to use it so I'll be updating all the digitalperversion.net links. Edit: the redirect was fixed, no need for the extension anymore!
• I'm still not done replacing the imgur pictures on the hair pages, sorry it's taking forever. I had to take a break that ended up lasting many weeks but I'm back on it now. The new Dreamwidth-hosted pictures appear to take longer to load, when they load at all. Sorry about that, it sucks but we don't have a better solution to the UK imgur ban right now. I recently switched to DuckDuckGo as my main browser and I find that the database loads faster and more reliably than with Firefox or Chrome, you may want to try and see.
Thank you to everyone who sent their lottie-sims defaults! In the end it turns out the Wayback Machine has what looks like the vast majority of them saved, if not all of them, so I feel very silly for asking you all for help when it might not be necessary at all in the end 😅 I was able to fix all the F hair links today while @simsmadegeeky got started on the clothing.
Instead of replacing the broken links with direct links to Lottie's SFS obtained through the Wayback Machine, we decided to download everything and reupload it to the sims2database's SFS. It takes longer but it's safer in case Lottie's SFS goes down. Simsmadegeeky also found that Lottie has a Dreadmwidth where a portion of their stuff is mirrored (no hair, just part of the clothing). It's always nice to link to posts that give credit and links to the original CC so we'll link to that blog wherever possible.
All* lottie-sims links have been fixed, or should have been. If you find a broken one please notify us in the comments under this thread. Thank you for your patience, and thank you again to everyone who took the time to send their files.

I initially put the entry in the graveyard hoping that someone would have an non-broken version and send it, but someone trying to be helpful directed us to the same link to the broken file we already had and I fear that's gonna keep happening if we leave it there, so it's on the tmhairsurferteen page now. Hi! Your sims always look amazing! Could you please recommend some default face templates you use in your game?
Hi! Most of the face templates I use are non-default, but currently my defaults are these, combined from a few different sets:
Pooklet We've got obsessions set, terrakosmos May 11 set, I don't remember what DJMK or "facefile04-emed" are, Rented-space set.
As for non-defaults:
DeeDee Kahlena CMP set, DeeDee Pooklet September set, "NDR" sets by isbrealiomcaife, DeeDee Whysim 2 and the Trapping face templates I don't remember where I got from but this is what's inside the folder:
The sims on my CC previews rarely have faces that are straight up existing face templates since I make more or less extensive tweaks to prevent the exact same faces from repeating.
Also the skins and skin details you use have a massive impact on what your sims look like (I'm currently using these skins and feeling the need to make skin details make-up for them).
The modest swimsuit from the previous post converted for more body shapes:

Outfit
Platasp converted the outfit in 2 versions, one like the TS4 original (EF18 Sport Striped) and one with added fabric around the neck to connect with the headscarf (EF18 Sport Striped Full Neck). I ended up working with the mesh with the covered neck only. I think the high neck looks great even without the headscarf and at some point I'd like to put shoes on these meshes to turn them into athleticwear for cold weather to wear with or without the headscarf.

I fiddled with the meshes to limit clipping as much as possible, however: some faces will clip through even at rest; the headscarf doesn't move with facial animations so there will be some clipping when the sim is talking; some neck clipping can occur when the sim turns their head really far.
Another set of AF outfits based on @e-neillan separates! The first set is here, both were requested by @gothsimmer2002.
As before, mind that these outfits are high to very high poly (12k-40k) and don't have fat nor preg morphs. Links to original separates, details and previews under the cut.
Shoes edits
Edited bone assignment on 4 of the shoes: the ankles can now bend → no more floatiness or clipping into the ground during animations.
The Bow heels were the most challenging to achieve a natural look on because of how high the heel is, I did my best.

Sorry I didn't preview all full swatches, taking previews takes a lot of time (or at least the way I like to do it does). The recolors are tooltipped as always, so you can easily identify them in bodyshop.

I believe this very cute hair that goes by "afro-sims-for-you Puffy With Pin" was made by Gloriana (mesh name "MESH_Glo-pypy-afro"). To my knowledge the only trace of it left was from Socialbunny's recolors (direct link), that's where I got it from.
It was for YF-EF only so I converted it for PF-TF and remade Socialbunny's recolors with the added ages. Polycount: 4.3k. Colors are Poppet V2 naturals; binned and familied, grey linked to black. I also did a set of recolors with the pins alpha-edited off:

Before age-converting I smoothed normals and deleted a lot of hidden faces inside the hair - polycount dropped from 5,372 to 4,308.

On all ages, I replaced the scalps with standard ones so I could add scalp textures to minimize transparency issues. Polycounts raised slightly as a result.
Other than that I edited the shape of the child mesh so it's closer to the body:

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to ask but do you happen to know any cc-free or cc-lite custom hoods (no made over Maxis hoods) that come with fully decorated houses? I can't build or decorate to save my life and I just want to plop my sims in the neighbourhood and start playing immediately.
Hi! I'm not super aware of the custom neighborhoods that are out there but I would point you to the neighborhoods section on MTS. Maybe people seeing this post can give more specific suggestions.
The only CC-free custom hood with fully decorated houses that I've ever tested is the one I made a few years ago, Oaken Valley. It has an unpopulated version so you can play your own sims. It's quite rural and not very elaborate (in line with the lore), which may or may not work for you.
