”тo noт play woυld вe noт тo lιve." The shadow chuckled darkly, blackened sand and wisps of shadows weaving around him like graceful dancers.
"I dunno.. " He stepped forward just slightly, pleased with such a playful response. Cool fingers reached out to the swirls of sand, nostalgic for the feeling against his skin. "I like to think some dead people can still have a good time."
“ѕoмe oғ тнeм, perнapѕ. ѕoмe dead people нave ғυn ιn a way тнaт ιѕ noт тo oтнerѕ.” Pitch notes easily, arching a hairless brow with a smirk that was for once teasing instead of malicious.
"Yeah, I don't hang out with those dudes," For a moment to time had past and he was just as comfortable in the dark recesses of the caverns as he had ever been. "I'm in the business of fun for everyone." He made a wide gesture with staff but was mindful not to spread any snow just a bit of shimmer as a few ice shards caught the small hints of light.

Tastes like Spring
He smiled proudly at that, emerald eyes flickering and watching his hands go from the cup, and back to his lips. It was nice, to be able to watch someone up close try out his little treats. Especially the ones he couldn’t enjoy himself.
It had been a while, since anyone gave him the honor of doing that, or he had enough time to sit down and truly enjoy it. Funny how it was the spirit, who he called irresponsible and a trouble maker, who let him have this one little thing. “‘m glad ya like it, Frostbite.” He spoke softly, the little nickname coming off more as a kind phrase then a mocking tease. “Have yerself a little drink there, hm? Wipe the slate for the next one.” His eyes flickered down again, judging out the choices. He settled on a small, light brown one, a line of light purple stripped across it. “This one next. Milk chocolate infused with lavender. Bit of a risk taker, but I think it could be fun, eh?” He grinned.
Something sounded a little different in Bunnymund’s tone. He couldn’t quite place what it was but he could feel himself relax a bit more. Jack nodded and gladly took a long sip of water, feeling a small sense of pride swell in his chest.
It was such a treat to feel included in a holiday. Even in this small way, just to know he was helping gave him such a thrill, it was making his cheeks ache from grinning.
“Ha, Definitely!” He thought it was such a charming notion that the Bunny felt that flavors combinations were daring but he was happy to encourage him. Things are always more rewarding when risks are taken.
“Okay! Hit me!” He set down the tumbler with a thud, dropped his mouth open and his eyes shut expecting to be tossed a the new treat.

Jack liked the look of concentration, it was inspiring in a way. It was rare to get to watch someone work with such tenacity. He felt like it was something that was genuine to the big four, something he hoped to have someday.
He lifted the the pale treat to his lips and hesitated, it felt kind of silly to try to eat. It was like playing pretend almost. He had to close his eyes before placing it in his mouth. Somehow it made it easier.
Blue eyes snapped back open.
He had completely taken for granted the gift of taste.
It was smooth and soft as it melted into his tongue, the mint tingled his throat and nose gently and left his mouth feeling both spoiled and refreshed. His hand raised to hide his lips as he smacked them to taste the last bits.
”.. wow.”
The pooka, without really realizing he was doing it, leaned in closer to the frost spirit as he popped the chocolate into his mouth. Some small part of him was jealous, seeing the emotions twitch across is face before his features melted into bliss. He shifted, a tad impatient, paws curling around the table edge. “Well? What do ya think? Is the mint too overwhelming? I dun want to overpower the initial chocolate taste.” A paw freed itself, pushing a small pitcher of water and a wooden cup to the winter guardian. It would be best if he had a clean slate before trying another one.
"No, It's perfect!" He tried to reel his excitement back it but a touch of it escaped in his voice. Jack was trying to keep from grinning but it was impossible. "Oh man, I completely forgot how awesome chocolate is."
Jack noticed the water being offered but it didn't really registered why. He just continued to gush about how tasty the little treat was even as he absentmindedly filled the hand carved cup.
"I really like the way the mint lingers on my tongue," Jack looked off in thought as his fingers traced across his own pale lips, trying to describe the feeling, voice a bit quieter, "Like .. it's still there, but softer. It makes me want more"

"Greedy?" He chuckled as tossed up his hands in mock surrender. It had been quiet while since he had heard that voice but he would have known it anywhere. "Hey march is in like Lion, am I right? I still have have a little time."
The pooka hopped over to the small, table-like surface, before settling down onto his haunches. He looked far more at ease here, amongst his flowers and warmth, then the cold snow. He had never been good at cold.
“Mm.. Good question..” He muttered, more to himself as his eyes roamed the spread. After a few seconds he pointed a paw at a small, round white one, with a green sort of colour swirled into the surface. “White chocolate mint first. I need to know if the flavours are balancing, or if the mint is too over powering.” He nodded.

”Like ya could find yer way without my Tunnels.” he smirked. A foot nudged some of the snow out of the way, so he could reach the bare ground. Lucky it was mid day, or he’d be freezing his tail off.
”Just try to keep up, kay, kid?” was the last smart retort before he tapped, and opened a tunnel. He jumped into it and bounded off, not checking if Jack was following. He assumed the kid would be able to follow in time. Regardless, he went a little slowler then usual. The tunnel let off in a more private section of his warren. It was closer to the storage rooms and confectionery kitchens, and close to his little home. It was a small meadow Bunnymund steped out of, a large flat boulder already set up with various types of chocolate on a clay made plate, just waiting for the two of them to show up.
Jack's eyes brighten with the Aster's comments, he like the underling dares in the way he spoke. It sparked a bit of excitement in his chest that let him breathlessly laughing and following closely behind. Nipping winds rushed threw the tunnels as he tried his best to stick to the Guardian, not wanting a to to be the last in the race that was never declared.
Before he knew it they were out of the darkness and into the enveloping warmth of the warren. The smells of fresh flowers and sweet hits of candy were almost overwhelming at first but quickly he found them pleasant. He took a few deep breaths, enjoying the way the scents would tease his memories.
When he got a look at the treat spread, he tried to suppress the toothy smile that threatened to show how grateful he was. "Which one should I try first?"

"Greedy?" He chuckled as tossed up his hands in mock surrender. It had been quiet while since he had heard that voice but he would have known it anywhere. "Hey march is in like Lion, am I right? I still have have a little time."
He nodded, just as awkward at this as Jack was. His hand shifted, moving to rub the back of his neck gently. “Kay.. Cool, cool.” There was a moment before he cleared his throat, nose twitching nervously.
”Are ya busy right now, or should I wait. I mean theres no big rush, but I gotta have them tested and perfected by the week’s end, or there will be a big dent in my line up, ya know?” It was hard work running such a big holiday. Maybe he should look into getting helpers, like North suggest multiple times.
"Me? Yeah right," he rolled his eyes and gave a crooked grin, "Let's go now, it's not everyday I get asked to be a taste tester."
Bare feet crunched through fresh snow to stand before Aster expectantly, "Lead the way long ears." He gripped his staff and ushered for a small gust to lift him just slightly off the ground, "Or do you plan on blindfolding me so I don't learn how to get there on my own?"

He simply glowered with the mentions of the other spirit, but seemed to slip into a more comfortable stance when his offer was accepted. Him and Jack had never been exactly on smooth terms. Between the headbutting at the change of season, and the whole Pitch/Easter incident, there had been ore clashing time then friendship building.
He wasn’t the only one who got lonely. ”I ain’t pullin’ yer leg, ya barmey.” He grumbled, a paw scratching absently at the tuff of his cheek fur. “Well.. Pooka’s.. We can’t eat chocolate for multiple reasons I dun wish to get into. I need someone to test a few for me, and see if theyre Easter ready. Up for it?”
The best thing about being around Bunnymund were the colorful insults he would toss around. That accent was just too charming, it made everything sound more interesting. Jack knew they were jabs but he like to pretend they were silly pet names or odd complements, it always made him snicker.
Jack let the curiosity about why Aster couldn't taste it himself fall to the side. Even he knew when to quit poking fun. The mention of chocolate brought the thought to mind that he could in fact eat, he just always kind of forgot. He slid a hand in his hoody to rub stomach, subconsciously trying to remember the sensations of hunger, though the memory was to distant to recall he looked up with a smile, "Yeah, I think I could manage that."
