Please do not attempt to flirt with me/ask me to be your partner. I know I will probably mention flirting with other people/wanting to date someone, but I am aegoaroace and do not actually desire a relationship. I will block anyone who does this. Don't repost art when the creator says don't repost, don't argue with people or try to talk to them anyway when you fit their DNI criteria. It's not funny, you're not being edgy or whatever, you're being an asshole.

Ok you wanna know what I HATE about gravity falls and specifically how they queer coded Dipper? (Probably not and warning this might be long)
THEY RUINED IT. THEY DID IT WRONG (also I haven't watched the show since last year so advance warning all of this might be wrong)
There's like seven episodes where he questions his masculinity and almost every single one of them is driven by one of his family members or friends mocking him for being too femme/not manly enough. And I just. I don't think that works with the story. I don't feel like Mabel and Stan and everyone would CALL A TRANS GUY A GIRL (this happens in the series at least once if I remember correctly). THEY LITERALLY REFER TO HIM AS A GIRL AT ONE POINT. Like. The main cast would realistically punch anyone who said that to him. So yea I like trans Dipper but also I hate what the show does with it because it makes his family super transphobic.
BUT ALSO: WHY MUST HE BE ONE FLAVOR AND ONE ALONE? (MORE UNDER CUT)
WE COULD BE LOOKING AT A CLOSETED GAL WHO DOESN’T KNOW HOW TO ACCEPT HERSELF AND FALLS BEHIND THE CLASSIC IDEALS OF MASCULINITY WHEN SHE’S ACCUSED IN ANY WAY OF STEPPING OUTSIDE OF IT, SUCH AS WHEN HER FAMILY CALLS HER OUT.
PLENTY OF TRANS WOMEN FALL BACK TO THEIR ASSUMPTIONS OF MASCULINITY WHEN THEY’RE PRESSED BEFORE CONSIDERING THEY MAY HAVE BEEN WRONG ABOUT BEING A MAN TO BEGIN WITH. YES IT’S STILL WRONG TO MOCK THE KID REGARDLESS BUT WITH A TRANSFEM LENSE IN PARTICULAR IT MAKES THEIR JOKES A LITTLE LESS PUNCHY.
ALSO. IF CHARACTERS BEING TRANSPHOBIC IS THE CONCERN THERE ARE A LOT MORE POTENTIAL ISSUES TO MAKE THAN PINETREE’S EXPERIENCES. THINK RED MOCKING TOBY FOR TRYING A VISIBLY LESS CONFORMING APPEARANCE AND NAME, HALF THE JOKES ABOUT GRENDA, LAZY SUSAN “FORGET[TING] IF [SHE’S] A MAN OR A WOMAN” AND SO ON. IT’S A FLAW WITH THE WHOLE THING IS WHAT I’M TRYING TO GET ACROSS
