Just some guy

Lori was panicked to say the least, she looked around at the horde, at least they were outside. She saw a small opening.

"Run that way" She shouted before running that way herself.

" Wait! Don't! "

And it was already too late. " Shit.. " They had no idea what was on that side, but Lee guessed it was now time to find out if they ever wanted to get out of this mess. " Ah... Screw it! " He ran towards the direction the woman came from, calling out to her.

" Hey! Are you alright there? Do you need any help?"

     Lee saw the young man had fallen down. It didn't look like it felt too      good from where he stood. Not even waiting for a response, he went      over to him and offered a hand with a gentle smile.

Lee was running late tonight. Damnit... His wife was going to kill him! With a a bouquet of flowers in one hand and essays from his class in another, Lee quickly made his way down the street and back to his car. He'd been so occupied with trying to rush that he didn't even notice a man in front of him and bumped into him, falling onto his ass with papers and flowers all over the sidewalk.

          " Ah shit... Sorry man. "

  Arvo hoped he hadn’t said anything wrong. Sometimes words just up and didn’t get filtered. Still resisting the urge to reach for his gun or be particularly defensive towards the man. He seemed kind enough, engaging Arvo in conversation instead of threatening or asking invasive questions—  Except for that one. But at least he was polite about it and not pushing. Arvo supposed he could open up just a little bit. After all who else did he have to talk to? Natasha? Her stupid friends? Not likely. He was a bit peeved with his relations at the moment, mostly because her friend was mean to him and the other man was creepy.  ”It was before.” Though the brace was kind of falling apart now, it wasn’t really supposed to last more then six months. He really was hoping they would find a way to repair it soon or get him a new one. Because straps needed to be fixed and the foot that kept his, well, foot on the device was getting kind of wobbly. He feared it would break at the wrong step and leave him on the ground.  ”My car slid off side of road, down hill, hit some trees. It was very bad.” He said with an exaggerating tone, trying to keep it lighthearted. After all it was a horrible thing, but it was two years ago, he should probably be over it by now… “Ahh… not so good for now. But at least…” At least it was still attached to his body.  ”D- do you have… people…?” He had to be sure. Honestly this man couldn’t be a bandit could he? Too nice, with an injury like that. If anything he could be bait. But he felt too honest…

   Lee listened to the other man, noticing he had a bit of a hard time looking for the right words to say. He had noticed the accent before, but he didn't comment on it. It sounded Russian to him, but he wasn't entirely too sure. Still, this guy did his best to communicate with Lee. English is probably the language this guy used the most nowadays, since they didn't have many people from all around come here anymore. He probably had people though... He didn't want to ask though.

    From his experience, asking if someone was with a group was usually a bad sign to other people. Depending on who you asked, it could end badly... Or not. Since he was alone most of the time, he had a lot of people ask where the rest of his group was. Most didn't believe him when he said he was on his own, especially since he had just one arm. It was difficult to live and survive with just one arm, but he had his ways.

   " Oh I'm sorry to hear about that. " Lee wasn't so sure of what else to say.

         But at least you're alive. 

                    But who'd want to be alive during a time like this?

         At least you still have your leg. 

                    The guy may feel bad if he said that.

   He decided it'd be best if he just left it at that. Nothing else needed to be said about that. It was a tragedy, to be in an accident, but considering what has been occurring the past two years or so... He wasn't sure what he was supposed to say anymore.

   Lee felt relieved in a way when the other man asked him if he was with people or not. He didn't have to be the one to ask and look suspicious, but it went both ways. For all he knew, that leg could actually be completely okay and Lee was being tricked right now... But he couldn't do much anyway if that was the case.

      " No. I don't have people. I sometimes go along with a group,         but it never works out in the end. I find that being alone... it         has it's advantages. " As well as disadvantages. " Honestly,         I'm alone. I know... it might be hard to believe, due to my         condition, but I really am alone. I'm not a thief or setting you         up. Honestly. Now... how about you? "

His whole body froze in place as he stared at the man before him. He... He knew him. Lee just couldn't believe his eyes though. He thought he was dead... All this time. Lee never thought he'd see his face ever again, but here he was.

       Slowly, Lee put down his gun, his eyes fixated towards the man before him.        He could feel his eyes water up by the second and he wanted it to stop, but        he just couldn't stop it. His lips trembled, wanting to say the man's name, to        confirm that this was truly real and he was not dreaming.

" Don’t be sorry, sweet pea. "

     He held his head low, avoiding her gaze.

" I was the one who told you to run… because I knew you’d  have a chance to survive. As for me… hell, I never thought  I would’ve gotten out of Savannah alive. I’m just so glad  you’re here… alive. And I’m happy I made it this far. “

     Lee turned back to Clementine and gave her a light smile.     It was worth all of that fighting, all that struggling, just to     see her alive. Just to see her once more.

" Got any ideas how to get out of this mess? "

" You grew up at this farm, Shawn? "

      ❝’S what I’m here for,❞ he replied, finishing packing the           elder’s belonging into his bag. It  was  mostly  food  and           the like, but a small peak into it indicated Lee managed           to   put   in   any   personal   items   before    asking    for           assistance, though he couldn’t make  out  any  shapes.

                                 ❝I'll carry it… it's kinda heavy.❞

" Thanks... "

      Lee sighed, leaning against a wall, trying to catch a break.       He was very grateful for the younger man's help and support.       Since he'd met Koujaku, he's been nothing but grateful. In       times like these, surviving in such a small group was nearly       impossible, but with good teamwork and trust... it seemed       possible, at least to Lee it did. Before asking for assistance,       he had put some drawings Clementine had made for him.       Clem... his thoughts were interrupted by Koujaku's comment,       which made him chuckle.

" Uh Kenny, you know about kids, don't ya? "
